Yeah, it's definitely intentional for the Kokiri to not appear until you get close. Nowhere else in the game do characters or enemies not appear until you are that close.
Yeah, in one of the Iwata Asks someone said, that it was done on purpose, so it was apparent that all the Kokori has a fairy attached. Thus the fairy appears before the Kokori, so you think "Ah, a Fairy! A Kokori must be there aswell".

Can anyone tell me what those rocks/stones are for? The ones that when you hit, they tell the time and Navi says you need to lure out the fairy etc. I have 3 temples done as adult Link and I still dont know what they are LOL.
Do the mask sidequest and you will see. Also, try planting a bomb next to them.

That's cool they kept it that way. But is there still a big hole where the castle should be when you cove over the hill? I remember being able to see the fire from torches and nothing else until you got up close.

Yes, it's a trading sequence. Some are obvious and some you'll most likely never get without reading a guide!

Oh no, I cant take those trading quests. If it's anything like the ones in the 2D Zeldas, you can count me out.

There are only four masks in the quest, and none of it is timed like the Biggoron trading quest.

They should've let you equip items to the d-pad. Obviously you couldn't want to put items like you bow there, but it would've been nice for ones like the boots, masks, and lens, that you just toggle on and off.
Would have been a grand idea.

Just beat the game. Mmhmm.

That final blow...
would have been awesome if the blood were red, but this probably would have been a T game then...

That
orchestrated track
at the end, so good.
Can't stop listening to it
. Pretty cool
that they mixed in the overworld theme from LttP as well. Makes this more of a medley, I guess?

Just finished. What a beautiful game. Dat ending sequence. *wipes away tear*
[Ganon's Castle looks completely badass in this remake. The rainbow bridge and the race back down the tower impressed the shit out of me.

The overworld theme from Alttp?
Get your facts straight, son.

I'm missing one heart container piece and 3 skulltulas at this point. I have no idea which ones I've missed. Grrr...
the heart piece I was missing for a long time was under a gravestone in the graveyard.

Not sure if you know that when you get all the gold skulltulas in an area or dungeon a little gold skulltula symbol appears next to the name of the area on the map, so if there's no symbol, you should look there.

It sounded similar to me...

To others: both of those are spoiler links, so don't click.

Absolutely this is the traditionnal Zelda Overworld theme that was missing from Ocarina of Time. OoT's overworld theme is a bit different, just like TP's one or Link's Awakening. All those songs share the same pedigree but still there is the songs that are the "real" overworld theme (Zelda, ALttP, MM...) and the others (OoT, TP, LA) that features a brand new one but in the same "style".

In a matter of fact, this song missing from OoT will forever be the main flaw of the game to me. I was very very happy to hear Majora's Mask Termina Field theme for the first time. It is a great memory for me, after several hours in Clock Town, finally played the song of Time and then heading to the field... And bam, the fully open field to explore and the music!

I need some help with Master Quest.

As pictured, there is a treasure chest in the top left corner in the entrance of Spirit Temple, but I have no idea how to get it to appear? Anyone know?

It's just that it is not only the overworld theme from Alttp, but the Zelda main theme in general and me being incredibly pedantic :p
Nothing pedantic about that.

I was grossly offended as well.

play Zelda's lullaby and trap a fairy into a bottle
plus,
if you place a bomb next to them, they start flashing and take off until they disappear into the sky, if you are outside
I remember WTFing hard at that

Well, it's been a while (about 10 years or so) since I went through the Water Temple the first time. I remember being somewhat annoyed by it then, but I really enjoyed going through it this time.

I'm wondering: did I change, or is something radically different in the 3DS version that I'm forgetting? I know the item switching is faster, but is that it?

Maybe it's because I've beaten a lot of other Zelda games since then, or it could just be age and the accompanying wisdom.

Either way, I really don't think it deserves all the hate it gets.

yeah. that's it. just fixing the boots switch makes the temple much less annoying since you don't have to pause and go to equipment to toggle them on/off.

i never found it too annoying but after playing the 3DS version, it feels far more steamlined and dynamic compared to the original.

this show is not Breaking Bad why is it not Breaking Bad? it should be Breaking Bad dammit Breaking Bad
I bought the game before the system, thought we would get a gold cartridge, something memorable along with it.

Though, the bonus CD is in transit to my house, and I got a poster.

But I've been wanting an Ocarina of Time with enhanced visuals for a long time.
It will be fun to play once a 3DS revision comes out.

Hopefully, Majora's Mask is on its way as well.

Ah, finally got around to finishing the game ... and yes, there IS an orchestrated track. Took forever to get it, though.

Is the Master Quest essentially the GC OOT Master Quest, but with more damage and mirrored?

It took me much longer than I care to admit to figure out how to get to lake hylia. I thought the diving game would be just for rupees, not provide an essential item for game progression.

Yes but I think mirror mode was already there in hte original and GC version. I need to check that out, will have the time tomorrow.

It looks rushed and cheap to me.
Of course it will be cheap. If you have seen the cheapiness of Super Mario Collection for Wii, don't expect better for a free soundtrack.

damn wasted time fishing my first fish was 19 pounds I let it go before going to weight it
it took me another 40 minutes to catch another 19 pounder to get the prize I needed from the fisherman

I guess I better do the Water Temple soon not sure why I am delaying it

The water temple has colored stripes to guide you towards the water level switching spots.
