The next "unexciting" Sony remaster is Days Gone, says VGC guy on twitter

So on top of 700 dollars you'll pay your "pro" patch for 10$ for every PS4 games you have ?

Man with fans as dumb as this Sony will milk them until they are utterly dry

Of course not

If the work is extensive they will release it as "remastered" just for this specific game

It already happened for Ghost of Tsushima for example

But why? It still looks and plays great. And it's already on PC.

At his point it's fair to believe that Sony has only a handful of new games coming up until the end of the generation and probably nothing really new beside Sequel, Remakes and Remasters. I mean what are we gonna get in the next 4 years? TLOU 3, Wolverine, Tsushima 2 and maybe another game? The rest will be old stuff. Absolutely abysmal lineup for an entire generation.

Also, people don't seem to care that much about dropping 60/70 on a remaster with slightly better textures and shadows, hell, they will spend 700/800 soon for those reasons.

Sony knows its audience.

PS6 will be backwards compatible via auto-remastrer feature, with PSSR 2.0 and SHTTR 2.1 all previous gen games getting massively upres'ed and up-fps'ed. Tested with AI, no people involved, no budget required.

Then charge 10 bucks per game to enable it.

Not an exciting pick, but maybe more people will give it a shot this time around, since it won't have all the baggage around it's release.

Perfection

At risk of sounding like an advertisement, the guy who makes those 'classic' cases does a really good job. I've been gradually buying ones for all the physical games I plan on keeping forever. He just dropped a classic case for Astro Bot, going to need to pick that one up soon.

Wasn’t Sony super disappointed with that game’s Metacritic score? Now they can aim for that sweet ass 91! Go go go!

I only heard that it had technical issues on the ps4 when it released. Playing it for the first time on PS5 already felt like a remaster though. Who would honestly expect people to buy this when you can get the PS4 version with a performance patch for like 10 bucks? I refuse to believe this is real, they can’t be that daft.

What a pack of dumb arses.

Who is the audience for this? Cause it sure as shit ain't the millions who got this for "free" on PS+ for the first 2 years of the PS5's life or whatever.

Some backwards arse decisions going on at Sony.

I can sort of understand them wanting Zero Dawn to have the same visuals as Forbidden West, but Days Gone? Sony are a joke

If the best that Sony can do is Horizon and Days Gone remasters, especially in their 30 year anniversary and close to Pro announcement/release, so they are really fucked.

The first game was actually pretty damn good. But I didn't play it at release so whatever was the issue at launch, it must have been fixed by the time I got around to it. Solid 8/10 game to me.
I played at launch and there was no issue, not on PS4 at least. There was a motorcycle sound bug that was fixed in two days.

Fantastic game. It single-handedly made me realize that open world game could be fun.

Didn't understand the hate Days Gone got - I really enjoyed my time with it and played it through - but admittedly I bought it for about $15 and it was that Covid summer, playing through a possible Covid Endgame, along with Last of Us 2 and some others I forget.

I played for 6 hours then dropped the game.
I thought it was extremely generic and bland zombie game. No personality whatsoever beside the biker vibe since the bike handling itself was absolute shit.
Should i have persevered ?

Hard disagree that they are in trouble if the Days Gone remaster is true. It would be fan service to a lot of actual game buying fans. And that's a great way to end 30 years.
