I get two weeks paid vacation year each and I kind of feel like a looser that I'm using one of those weeks just to sit home and play this game. I mean I could go anywhere, but I'm choosing to just sit home in sweat pants, and play GTA for six or seven days before returning to work.

I hope I'm not the only one doing this. :?

Eh i've got two on May 1st and two on May 8th, then im done.

So I guess that means i've got a good amount of Tuesday to play ( going to midnight launch) and study the last half of the day + most of wednesday :lol

Im late. Was this a serious post? The older GTA games didnt look that great at all, but I never noticed any framerate dips. Really it was more or less like God Hand or a Nippon Ichi game. The graphics arent that great however the gameplay more than makes up for it.

That is different with GTAIV though. It looks better than ANY free roam game released to date, not to mention has more stuff going on in it's environment as well/tons of content, so thats what makes it edge out games like Assassins Creed.

Look at it this way, you'll be saving a lot of money by staying home and playing this game. $60 is probably the cheapest vacation possible if you ask me :D.

This social club was put together by morons. You'll need to clear your "Flash cookies" which you can do by right-clicking somewhere on the flash movie and clicking Settings. Click the Local Storage icon (the folder with the arrow pointing inside of it), and drag the slider to 0. Restart the page and you will no longer be blocked.

Feh, I'm going to be out of town when the game goes on sale, and I don't think any of the stores in my hometown (where I'll be on a visit) are selling it at midnight. There's a 24-hour Wal Mart Supercenter about 25 miles away...is it likely that they'll be letting the game drop at midnight?

I don't know how many of you heard the XM side of Opie and Anthony today but I'm the guy in the audience today who actually got to see the game in action and let me just say that it looks amazing. The stuff I saw was very brief but the animation and blood effects when someone gets shot with a weapon is very cool looking. The visuals look sharp as hell as well. And in case no one believes me here's a pic of me and Jim Norton I got after the show today and note my Liberty City Swingers shirt which got me the chance to see the game.

Nope, I'm right in the middle of my paid vacation right now. I'm starting my new job on may 5 so I'm good to go as well. I wish the game would come sooner, but I'm preaching to the choir I guess. Still I'm having a ball playing Baldur's Gate for the first time, I might even be able to squeeze BG2 in before GTAIV hits (I have a lot of free time right now, so it might be doable).

Yeah, I'm really glad I don't have the right contacts within MGS to try and acquire one before the street date. Because I undoubtedly would.

Lazlow sounds like a really cool fucking dude. Also sounds like he has a lot more to do with the content than just the station he's on. He's using the "WE" a lot when referring to R*.

Yeah, I hear you there. I've got to decide when I'm going to stay away from GTA info. I pretty much ruined the excitement of SSBB by reading the spoiler thread. I don't want to do the same for GTA.

I was reading in the paper the other day about the hit on Lewis Moran (Australian underworld figure - member of crime family) in a Melbourne club. Hitman walks in and fires shotgun at Moran. Shotgun misfires and Moran starts running. Hitman digs Magnum out of his pants and finishes the job. Struck me as very GTA - or at any rate, imbued with a sort of videogame comedy: You stride in to make a perilous hit on a quite, quite dangerous man, and your gun doesn't flaming work.

Huh? Are you saying the walking cycles..etc are carried out by endorphin? Are you really sure about this? I mean, I kinda doubt all of the animations are procedurally generated like for example elbowing a car window. Having everyone controlled by this would demand a lot I would think.
What I was thinking was that endorphin took control of the skeleton as soon as something radical happened (getting shot, falling..etc).

hard to say, I don't think Lazlow is a tech guy, mostly content, but that is what he said, but to be fair they were talking about how realistic the falling animations looked.

I seriously doubt the PS3/X360 would be able to procedurally generate dozens and dozens of people walking around in such a ingame situation.

Great interview. I don't consider most of that spoilers, its actually the stuff I WANT to know ahead of time. My hype really just kicked in for the last week or two. I've been really busy and hadn't read much about it until the multiplayer previews. Also, LOL at that crack on the Wii they made.
