I am wondering if the game went Gold a couple weeks ago. I also wonder if the copies are already pressed. Maybe on the bright side, all the mom and pop stores will get it early, so we can buy before the 27th.

So, the rival stuff is still in game engine. That's good. It still makes the anime junk seem out of place. Same disjointed presentation as the previous game. =/ Well, whatever.

- U2 has a crazy small hitbox. Even my very skilled opponent had trouble finding the correct spacing for (it's veryyyyy finicky methinks). He hit it once out of 10+ tries. I have no idea why people would use this over catastrophe.
- the super finnicky-ness makes me believe that IAT>>Shangrila will be extremely hard to pull off, if even possible

Eh. Well, at least they didn't gimp him for some weird reason. I'll still have 'Sim as my trusty secondary. It would be crazy if they really did beef up his B+HK. That thing already has a maddening hitbox as it is :lol

oh for fuck's sake, I can't believe that ken + ryu bromance shot made it as the finalized main menu screen. i prayed every night that it was just placeholder or that they'd come to their senses and change it before going gold. "stfu homophobe" stuff aside, it just looks really fucking dumb and everyone who worked on the game should be blamed for not saying something sooner to the deviantart freelancer they got to do the menu art. >:|

and since i'm in a bad mood now, let me just say again how much I dislike the new announcer. he sounds like the parody announcer at the start of the "fire from my hands" video, but i get the impression the ssf4 team thinks it's super hardcore badass. The cheesy-yet-totally-self-aware announcer from vanilla was so perfect!

I've got plenty of other nitpicky gripes too, but i'm still super hype and cannot wait till the 27th (...of april ;_;)

FYI to all Sim players, here's what I noticed:

1. His Yoga Destruction is weaker. Full hits take off a quarter of energy, maybe less. Can't remember for sure. Just remember that it seemed neutered.

2. His new ultra is a long distance grab from the air, which if you land, is awesome, but the conditions for landing it seem really weird and non-obvious. Fucking pisses me off.

3. The timing on his Yoga Fire now means it's easier to combo into two in ones.

4. Yoga Spears are still bloody useless - i.e, if you hit someone with them, they can recover in time to counter you, unless you just clip their toenails with the edge of it.

5. Yoga Spears did seem slightly stronger. Could've imagined that, but not sure.

6. Sakura FUCKS UP Dhalsim. Her jumping medium kick can fuck up his jumping fierce punch easily. If he teleports backward on wake-up and she does her dragon punch, she'll land hits upon him appearing. She is BUILT to dry-bugger Sim.

7. You can grab Sim's, via his fierce punch arms from a distance with the right timing. Kinda cool skill reward for grab players, but shitty for Sim.

So in short, he felt slightly gimped and slightly buffed. All depends on your strategy I guess. I still enjoy playing him.

Yeah, that's really frustrating. We really should be playing this by the first week of April.

Man, if they buffed these, 'Sim would be too good, I think. I only use these for movement, which is fine, but would have been nice to use them to actually smack people with more often.

YUP. SEEMS LIKE IT COMES OUT A SLIGHT QUICKER, OR THEY'VE SOFTENED THE TWO-in-ONE TIMING.
