Good point! Even if they go down first round, hopefully I can avoid the "overpaid choke artists" comments this year!Seth C said:No one is giving the Braves a chance, perfect. At least this way they can't underperform in the playoffs.

"The only thing Greg Anderson does is what Barry tells him to do," Sheffield says. "Barry ran everything. If I'm training and if he sees Greg making me do one curl too many, it's an argument: 'I told you, don't have him do no more than he needs!' So I knew Greg was a puppet. All these guys around [Bonds] were puppets."
"He said something to me [about being late]. I did not respond, because if I did respond at that particular moment, I would have knocked him out. That's how I was feeling. [But] I said [to myself], No, I'm just going to walk away, and when I say walk away I mean walk away."

Braves' 13th division championship will prove to be the unluckiest.

Everett, who recently was activated from the disabled list after missing nearly two months with a broken left wrist, convinced general manager Gerry Hunsicker and manager Phil Garner that he was game-ready and did not need a full week of Instructional League.
Apparently, two games were enough.
"We talked about the pros and cons," Hunsicker said. "The question is, what are we going to gain by leaving him down there three more games? If we activate him, it gives us more versatility. If something happens to Vizcaino, Bruntlett is the only guy who can play shortstop without Adam here."
Everett will not be thrust into a starting role immediately, but Hunsicker would not object to Garner giving the shortstop a start or two during the playoffs. For now, Everett will mainly pinch-run and enter games late for defensive purposes.
"The biggest concern is how rusty he is," Hunsicker said. "The fact that he hasn't played in a couple months, what are the expectations when you're in a situation where you're facing not only Major League pitching, but top pitching? You can't wait until someone gets in a groove. You've got to hit the ground running. That's probably the biggest issue."
