Have you tried choosing "Select Town" instead of "Continue" at the title screen? That worked for me and for others when we couldn't get into GAF Town.

I have still can't get in. Weird thing is it shows 4-8 people in gaf 2.0 and I can't get in but can get into a town with 30+ people.

Yup, it's pretty sketchy performance-wise.

It leads to a disconnect and return to the title screen I just noticed.
There is also definitely an addiction factor.
