Your obsession with her is kind of creepy.

lol not an obsession. she's one of the few FF fans i know of on this site :/ sorry if it came off that way. :lol im new here

Now that I've seen the scan, it looks... different. Really, the parody of the Dissidia logo made me chuckle a bit.

I was thinking, "Oh, SE made an EBA game!" But it doesn't look like EBA. Looks like you tap to the rhythm for each character to take a hit to defeat an enemy or something. It's styled like older FF battles where allies are on the right hand side and the enemies are on the left hand side. FF music is a plus.

Better if they just copied EBA. Have Lightning, Yuna and Fang in those EBA suits, with Auron shouting, "AGENTS ARE... GO!" before the missions start.

But in all honesty, the game looks kind of neat. I hope we get it over here.

I think that's one of Square-Enix's marketing strategies.

Come up with absolutely baffling names, so people can spend all day thinking about what the fuck they mean.

I mean, it's working.
How well did Infinite Undiscovery sell?

Oh look, another game that's Kingdom Hearts, Dragon Quest, or Final Fantasy.

We're still at zero games in other brands announced from Square Enix Japan.
I'm going to buy SE and make another Einhander game someday. And it will be glorious.

Wow, I have no idea what to make of this. Square abandoning the 3ds confirmed? Vita support incoming? If this was a launch window title that would be one thing but this isn't...

I think it's cute

I want to play it

A rhythm game of nothing but Final Fantasy music sounds entertaining on at least two levels
No, I agree. Even though I'm sort of half-mocking it, I am somewhat intrigued and would probably play it if it was priced reasonably.

The use of the FF name once again is a little annoying, but it sounds kinda interesting to me.

Does Square Japan have any game announced that isn't tied to FF/KH/DQ right now? I can't think of any...

This game will be amazing. I am completely serious.

I have faith.

If they can pull a Rhythm Heaven/Elite Beat Agents style game with obviously BOMBA Final Fantasy music...

Fucking sold.

Tapping button prompts to the tune of Final Fantasy VIII's The Extreme? FUCK YES.

im getting more and more interested in this! i bought all the Hatsune Miku games and it made me appreciate Rhythm games. Did Sigma Harmonics ever get localized?

I wonder if western games that get released in Japan also suffer from being titled really poorly?
In Japan, a common way to select a game's title is to open the dictionary and point. In SE's case, they seem to also have Latin dictionaries.

English (and Latin) are totally cool.

It's really no different from American movie soundtracks with all of that latin choir in the background. I'm sure it'd sound hilarious to people who spoke the language.

The artstyle looks pretty cool though I wish it were a new IP instead it comes off as a cheap cash in on brand recognition. I'm having a hard time seeing this as a full retail game, just imagining it makes me think it should be a download title. In fact didn't Nintendo just announce a pokemon music rhythm app that is basically the same thing for free?

It doesn't look that bad. Just gotta see how much stuff you can actually do with just rhythm games.

Gotta love Square naming regardless.

It actually is sometimes, even if the declension can be right at times. My former Latin prof had a hoot.

No. I liked playing through it, though. But I'd imagine that'd be a difficult localization project because of the text and the "book-style" nature of the game. The music is amazing Hamauzu stuff, too.

We had previously heard the staff behind Dissidia and Duodecim that the next iteration of the games they were working on may take a new form altogether.

The game is said to be a rhythm action game, and will feature characters and music from the Final Fantasy series. Characters will battle to retain the light of the crystal, and there will be an overarcing plot as with the Dissidia games.

Oh... god...

I don't think I can take another shit-fest of a story. I wonder how nonsensical they'll make the Dissidia story now.

Oh, and the logo has chibi-like Chaos and Cosmos. ohlawd

The game looks interesting, but who at SE is coming up with these names?
I'm more curious about the fact that square likes to announce games in development more than they like actually making said games. Didn't they already have 2 3ds games in development, chocobo adventure racing one and KH:DDD and now this yet none of them have been updated in forever and none of them have release dates. SE must have some kind of office contest to see which dev team can announce new titles fastest.

lol, Yeah that one! It was fun for a time.

Yeah it was good. You can grab the controller for like 1.99 or something insane like that in my local GameStop. Really tempted to get it for my next party.

ANYWAY

THREATRHYTHM!

I had to tread this 10 times before noticing it was different from the real title. They could just name this whatever the heck they want and no one would notice the difference.

When I saw the OP I thought Kagari had made a typo. Threat just makes so much more sense! (well, at least it sounds cool)
