This is not Reddit. Yet and still, Ask Me Anything

Hey gotta go record an episode of Archer and then an episode of my podcast. Will reply more tonight. In the meantime, it looks like this thread is about to be long enough to stretch the length of Oprah's lawn, so I will admit to tasting a little penny-twinge of regret.

Regardless, will return later to respond to more questions.

Remember that I am not a game dev or coder and I don't, as a rule, sit in on Ubisoft all-hands meetings so don't be asking me shit you already know I can't answer.

Oh, and for the record, I play Xbox 360/One and PS3/4 games. No Wii. No Wii U. No handhelds. I'm sure there's other shit. I don't play them. I used to be a PC gamer but that was a lifetime ago (like Myst/Riven ago).

I am a console gamer almost exclusively, but occasionally indulge in iPad games. Latest are TWD Season 2, Monument Valley, and PvZ which I am currently furious at and so have stopped playing, mainly because PopCap has devoured my retirement fund.

My husband plays Minecraft. I don't understand it, but I support him fully. Because that is the kind of spouse that I am.

Wouldnt mind if people from the game industry did this...I imagine mods/admins are scrambling to figure out what their future policy will be on things like this.

Aisha, I think they should remake the first 7 James Bond movies and put you in Connery's/Lazenby's roles.

I think it would be great if you were the first female James Bond. It would also be funny to replace the Bond girls, with Bond guys.

Just sayin.

Love Girl on Guy.

Aisha, is it a crime that Wayne Brady isnt recognized as one of the best actors/comedians/performers of the last 20 years?

Thanks for coming on GAF!

I was impressed by the Rainbow Six demo as the original was one of the first shooters I played as a kid on my Playstation. I noticed that it seems to be a return to the original's design in a lot of ways. Is this what the developers were going for and, if you've played the game, is this sort of the impression you've gotten?

It seems more difficult games are really being embraced now and this is a perfect time to reintroduce the Rainbow Six style to gamers.

Didn't know who this was until I read the username, holy shit. Hey Aisha, hope your enjoying your time at E3. I don't have any questions for you, but just had to say you did a great job at the Ubi press conference.

Ask anything...

Will you go to prom with me?

p.s. i'm too old to go to prom since I graduated over a decade ago, so besides that what is your favorite beer/wine/mixed drink?

Also do us a favor and push for an Archer game, just casually mention it all the time until it happens.

Have you heard about the word of our lord and savior PC Gaming who received bad ports for our sins? I have a brochure if you are interested.

In fairness, I wouldn't blame anyone for dropping out of PC gaming between 2002ish-2008. Things were a mess

So, what was the deal with the other Aisha Tyler account on GAF? Was that an imposter?

And it's nice to know that R6: Siege moment was genuine excitement for a game. Yay video games.

Oh I saw earlier in the thread you are boycotting Destiny because of Halo things.
Nevermind then.

So how many hours per week do you play games?
How many hours per week do you lurk GAF?

It was. Real Aisha took over the name sometime this year.

Look, most of these guys are not public speakers. They are coders or designers or corp execs or mid-spectrum reclusives. So this is not generally their thing and they are trying to muddle through and satisfy their bosses and the stockholders and their moms as best they can.

I get on stage and live tv every day for a living. That doesn't mean I'm perfect at it (as the internet tells me every living minute of every fucking day) but I do love the games and I am genuinely excited to be there. So hopefully that comes across.

I think the other thing is just to lean out and focus on the games. We're all there to get stoked about what's coming. That should always be the focus. I won't knock trailers because I get as excited about them as the next person but actual gameplay, live or footage, is always the best (even if it's curated and managed to within an inch of it's zeroes and ones).

PREACH.

You mentioned that you were slowly playing through the last of us when you guest hosted the Adam Carolla show. Did you end up finishing it? What did you think?

Did getting kicked in the chest hurt?

this is so true, was watching the making of AC Unity on IGN and the amount of time and effort involved in their E3 demo was insane, they were sitting there going over every frame to ensure nothing undesirable could be observed.

That is because they know we sit ready to tear them a new one.
