Last I think anyone heard about it was a legal issue involving mechs designed on Macroos/Robotech. I can't find anything saying they cancelled the reboot though, so I'm hoping it's just been delayed.

PS3 question:

I have 5 arcade sticks, 2 wireless and 3 wired. Since the PS3 has only 2 USB ports, is it possible to connect an USB hub with 4 ports so I can use all the arcade sticks at once?

Aye hubs work. I highly recommend getting a hub that has it's own power supply though just to make sure everything connected will work.

Horror games. Day or night?
You mean when to play them? Only one answer, unless you are prone to heart attacks, after midnight in a dark room, an open window with dark curtains and a table fan blowing at you for added chills :D

As for in-game, both can work but RE5 sure as hell did not. Darkness is such a safe bet though.

Are you crazy? All the monsters will get in!

I can tell you are prone to catching a cold :)

Haha xD Man or mouse?

The table fan direction should be rotating of course. And it's basically summer time right now anyway!

Whats the best way to go about buying MSPoints for use on an Australian XBox?

E.g. I want to grab Hard Corps Uprising, which is 1,200 space bucks.

Thats US$15 or AU$19.80 despite the fact that current exchange rate is US$1 = AU$0.91, so the AU price should be more like $13.65 or so.

Cheap? Or Principled?

So looking to find a cheap way / code to buy MSP without having to deal with the ridiculous MS exchange rate.

It'd be useful to know what you already have when you ask questions like these. Or what you like.

Yeah sorry, my fault. Arcade titles i own:

Braid
Castle Crashers
Puzzle Quest
Shadow Complex
Splosion Man
Trials HD

Genre doesn't matter. Preferably newer releases (2011) that can be recommended.

Outland, platforming using the Ikaruga colour switching mechanic and metroidvania style ability collection. It's ace.

Thanks. Forgot the name and didn't know that it has already been released.
Tried the demo and it seems to be right up my alley :)

How recently was the last adventure game that lets you type in commands released.

Although I love SCUMM, I love early Sierra games even MORE.

Are there any recent games that let you type what you want to do, rather than stupid-ass icons?

I'm going to pack up my GBA SP and Micro for good, and not play them again for some years. Should I fully drain the batteries before doing so?

Are the cables to hook up your PSP to your TV worth it or good? My dust collecting PSP-1000 might be getting some love thanks to Tactics Ogre, but I hate playing games on my PSP for some unknown reason. I'd rather hook it up to my 32" 720p LCD, but if it's going to look like ass I'll just deal with the PSP screen.

So I'm getting nervous for this years E3 press conferences. I have class during Nintendo's press conference (I believe) and I was thinking of heading back home after to watch it on my break. But usually it is live streamed every where, so would there be a way to rewatch it from the beginning on a website? I can't remember if you can start a live stream from the beginning or not...

Thanks for any ideas!

You wouldn't be able to start a livestream from the beginning but some sites will definitely let you play it back shortly after it's done.

I think the best solution would be to skip that class.

So... is Alan Wake history now? The game, the concept etc at Remedy? I believe I read somewhere that they are deep in development on a new IP?

Anyone heard of a possible english release for Deadly Premonition on the PS3? It dropped in Japan earlier this year, but I haven't heard anything else.

I was definitely considering this. But it's the LAST class of my most important class. So yea...

I'd like to know this as well. I already have the X360 version, but would like to get it for a friend that only has a PS3... does anyone know how well the game sold outside of Japan?

So my 60gig died a couple weeks ago and I received my replacement a day after the data breach. I managed to back up most of my save files that weren't copyright protected, but will they work once I'm able to restore my account? Or will trophies/saving be disabled even though they'll be under the same PSN account? Waiting to find out whether or not I want to continue Yakuza 4 is killing me :(

Yes, you should for long-term storage.

And now you've got my paranoid about my unopened Retro SP & Famicom Micro.

Lithium-ion batteries will eventually lose their charge standing idle due to trickle. You can put them into storage with a full charge and let it trickle away, but it can improve the life of the battery to store them long-term on no charge. Most battery manufacturers recommend no more than a 40-50% charge for long-term storage.

Factory-sealed consumer electronics usually ship with their batteries well below 40-50% charged, I would not worry about your GBA SP or Micro.

So after enjoying Resistance: Fall Of Man a few years back I've finally decided to pick up a cheapo copy of Resistance 2 before R3 hits later this year.

Does anyone still play online? What's the community like these days? (before PSN was borked obviously :P)

Just started playing Dragon Quest IX and made a few party members. I have a couple of questions:

1) Why does my main character get more EXP than my level 1 party members?

2) What determines the colour around their names and info? When I used the default characters they were different colours, but two of my custom party members are dark green and one is light green. >_> EDIT: Oh, wait, I figured this one out.

Are there any differences between the PS3 and the 360 versions of Vanquish? I heard there were a few differences with Bayonetta and I wanted to know if something similar happened with Vanquish as well.

Also is the Fragile Dreams game for the wii any good?

IIRC I enjoyed the game for the most part until the final act. It was as if the dev's worked less and less on it later on in the game (last hour was pretty much ladders and hallways and with little in between). The art direction was really neat with the exception of the final area as well.

It was a depressing game throughout story wise.

Is there a cheap and easy way to play a ps2 on a computer monitor? I don't want to use emulation because I still have all these ps2 discs that I still want to play.

In the end both versions perform largely identically with only small differences between them. The 360 game drops less frames in the most intense situations, whilst the PS3 game is more consistently smooth overall, only faring worse in heavy load areas, such as the boss battle. Screen tear isn’t an issue for either build, and the PS3’s use of triple buffering doesn’t affect controller responsiveness to any noticeable degree during regular play. In fact it is the PS3 version of the game that actually just pushes ahead, looking slightly smoother, and sharper overall, though without commanding anything more than the subtlest of leads.

Help me please.

I'm looking for a game, it's FPS and quite modern. I remember that in certain parts there are floating cameras that when they spot you they take a photo, the flash blinds you for a second and the screen goes white. They don't appear that often, but they provide a really cool effect.

For some reason I keep thinking Half Life but I'm not sure.

Sounds like Half-Life 2 to me.

Not sure if totally relevant but...
Are there any games which can be considered to be 'high culture' or 'low culture'?
Much like how Shakespeare is considered 'high culture' to some.

EVE Online is high culture.

CoD is low culture.
