He's too good for this.

Too good for Doom? He's Marvel's best character with a ton of depth. There are so many different angles they could be playing with Doom yet Fox tends to prefer the Saturday morning cartoon villain angle. It's not like Mads hasn't made the best out of being in bad movies before (Clash of the Titans, King Arthur).
