Too Human Official Thread of Hack-n-Loot

How are you guys doing on Bounty? Since I started building higher level weapons and armor, it seems I'm always low on funds. Didn't help that I had to get everything repaired halfway through the last mission either. I have some excellent gear, but I think I've only got about 6000 bounty right now and some more good stuff on the horizon. It doesn't seem that the amount of cash you received scaled all that much the further you got into the game.

"So are "Epic Sets" technically only the ones from Red Blueprints? Like, if I cobble together an full matching set of Orange Armor Blueprints does that not "count" as "Epic"? And does anyone have a list of full sets? It's kind of hard to tell sometimes.

Just finished my first run through Hall of Heroes, post-game. LOT of fun. So pissed though, I had GRENDLZ down to like a SLIVER and I fucking died. Didn't realize he was immune to ballistics (I think) until it was too late. And I was doing so well.

:(

Finally got my first piece of Red loot, so that's exciting.

Right now I'm focusing on the Charms and their "quests". That's sort of fun.

Overall, this game just keeps feeding you stuff to do. I can see this being a sort of single player Halo 3 multiplayer kind of game for me, in terms of an evergreen game that I can always go back to and do something."

Yes only red is epic.

So how does the save system work in this game? I saved my game after killing a large mob of enemies. Then I quit and came back later using the continue option and it started me off with everything I had killed earlier - still alive!! I'm fucking pissed.

I still don't understand the charms system.

There are two slots. I place two charms in the slots and can see the requirements I need to meet. Once I have done that, I insert each into a rune, but then, do I need to insert that rune into a piece of weaponry/armor to take effect, or...?

Also, do I need to keep the charm I'm looking to use in one of the two slots on the charm menu screen for it to remain active, or can I switch in new charms to work on their quests?

You don't need to insert the charm anywhere except one of the two Active slots for its effect to work. You can only fill a Charm's requirements if it's active, however. So, yes, it's going to take forever.

If you save and quit, it puts you back at the nearest token which works as a checkpoint. If you're worried about losing progress, only save & quit right after you receive tokens. You can check your "stats" to figure out when you get them.

:lol Thanks. I thought I only had 1 active because the word was over the 1st slot. I thought the other one was for questing.

But then... why does it allow you to "insert" if that does nothing?

I'm enjoying the game so far.

I'm in the Ice Forest, and I have a bunch of purple gear. I'm a level 12 Defender working the right side of the skill tree.

I love the spider laser, it rocks.

Alot of the time during story parts, it seems as if the game is "trying too hard". I'm waiting to finish my solo run through, before I do co-op.

That's for "Inserting" runes into the Charms to activate them. Think of it like this. A charm is like a recipie but the ingredients and cooking directions are for two different things but somehow magically end up making the pie you want. The cooking directions tell you to kill 600 Goblins. The ingredients, however, are, say, six runes of a specific type. Put them together, Lightning Field Pie.

There is one for the battle cry also :D I got it with my bioengineer. Perhaps its a secret achievement?

All I know is that I have a passive battle cry (protects me from status effects) and I unlocked this achievement with a ruiner. I suppose it's possible I had the battle cry active and then happened to kill 25 people, ending with a ruiner. Though honestly I hardly ever use the battle cry and don't think I did when I earned the achievement.

Another explanation: the achievements are a bit glitchy. I earned Serve Em Up (the player must juggle an enemy which is then killed in air combat by their teammate) early on in my single player game. This is a co-op achievement and I've yet to play a co-op game.

EDIT: I earned the I'm Rich achievement as well, and I didn't have 1,000,000 bounty.

GAH the wait is still on for Fridays UK release, been popping in an out of this thread but can anyone give me a run down and explain how the co-op has been working out.

A bud plans on picking this up after the weekend for me to play through with.

I can have two characters right? one for SP and one for co-op, how has the experiances been in co-op? A good set of classes to play with? etc?,,

"EDIT: I earned the I'm Rich achievement as well, and I didn't have 1,000,000 bounty."

That's from picking up a total of 1,000,000 bounty you don't need to have 1,00,000 in your inventory.

"Did you get the I'm Rich at 500,000? Cause I think I got mine around then, unless its cumulative so you don't have to have 1 million all at once."

It is cumulative.

Serve em up means you hit a dude in the air and one of your army dudes killed the enemy.

But yea I was trying to get the 25 kills all at once with a ruiner and It wasn't working, that passive battle cry ability on the defender worked instantly.

Also, I love how they slapped that loot labyrinth in the middle of the Hall Of Heroes bridge. I hope they do more stuff like that in the Revisit Versions of other levels.

I haven't seen anything else like that yet but i've been enjoying the different enemy layouts.

Played part of level 3 last night and found a room with 5 trolls in it.

This game seems built for DLC. The level select screen is very expandable and they could even release remix packs of each level ala Ninja Gaiden Hurricane packs and get some more use out of the existing environments.

*gulp*

I do like that I can now just level up and grab loot in bite sized chunklets of playtime. Like, I need to complete the two Ballistic Charm quests I have. I can just fire up a level section, equip a nice rifle and go to town.

World 2 has a few areas that you go different ways than you did in single player, but I don't remember anything like the labyrinth.

I've been surprised at the huge areas some of the hidden spots cover. It's not just 'go into an arena' all the time, there are some where you fight through HUGE TRACTS OF LAND to get to the obelisk area that's the payoff.

I haven't found one hidden spot outside of Hall of Heroes. Okay, I think maybe one in Helheim. But that's it.

:(

Exactly how deep does cyberspace go? There are several doors near where you talk to the norns that never opened for me. I did manage to go through one door that ended up being pretty long. Maybe 4-5 chests worth all with good loot. I understand why they put cyberspace in the game it's just not very well fleshed out. Hopefully in the sequel they will do something better with it.

One thing that would be totally awesome is for Too Human 2 to have 4-8 player support and some players can play Adepts (like Freyja) and have special powers within cyberspace, or maybe even stay in cyberspace for an entire mission and follow along with the players in the real world helping them out by opening doors, manipulating the environment, and maybe delivering supplies from various cyberspace access points.

Imagine a four player game where you are one of three guys in the real world fighting against endless hordes of enemies while you protect the body of the fourth player who is in cyberspace trying to open a door for you to escape through. You could also have puzzles that only 4 people can solve that open up some well stocked treasure hordes. Some really cool possibilities exist.

The only problem with this is I hate the bosses, but love the levels. I always dread getting to the boss fights, they're awful.

Wow, that'd be so awesome. Like the last level of Braid but multiplied but, like, even sicker.

That's why it's cool that you can just play a little bit of the levels, unless you're going for super boss loot. Honestly, I'm in the same boat you are. I won't go near the bosses on an optional level until I'm probably leveling up a Defender or Bioengineer. They're just too ridiculous.

I can beat
Grendel, Hod, and Hel
without dying.

Super Troll and Garn
are a different story. :(

There are 4 doors off the path where you talk to the nords. Each door represents one of the worlds. From left to right. Beat a world the first door opens and so forth. The world tree cyberspace is HUGE. I suggest doing the traditional hug left wall tactic so you don't miss anything.

Has anyone else had trouble with the
play a level with no deaths
achievements? I just ran through the first one via the Aesir teleport menu (jumped in at 1-1 and played through the whole level) and it didn't unlock for me. Do I have to do it campaign style or something?

The game is getting a lot of heat for the "death" system.

Is it possible that it is not fully understood yet? Like, if you die on a boss, does it affect the loot drops, maybe you get less cool loot?

Having some kind of penalty for dying (besides the armor breaking) would be great.

You always get worse loot if you die boss or no boss. You also lose your combos when you die.

Dude, I'm not trying to be a dick, but why don't you hit the quote button? It's much faster and easier to read as well.

This. I also suggest waiting until after you beat the last level to go do all of this because then you'll get better loot from each obelisk (since you'll be a higher level).

IMO you only get worse loot when you fail the timed events. Otherwise its completely random.

I got a red loot off a goblin and I got jack shit off of GARM, HOAD and HEL after beating all of them no death.

Just from my experience. Who knows the way it actually is you'd have to ask the programmer.

Does anyone have an extra bonus armor code laying around that I can use? EBgames.com screwed me out of the pre-order code because they ran out, but failed to tell me until after they shipped the game. The reason why I didn't just pick it up in the store was because my parents were sending it to me as a birthday gift and they ordered it online about a week ago with their credit card info. If anyone has a code or access to some codes (I'm looking at you EBgames employees) then I would greatly appreciate a PM with any help you can give me.

I started a Defender, and not getting knocked down anymore is sex. I haven't tried the other classes yet, but there is a definite difference in how to approach Berserker and Defender, and I feel like I'm much more suited to the latter. I love wading right into things. Progressing through the skill tree, and I love turning those fucking posion and freeze enemies' status effects back on them. Very satisfying.

And the spider bitches are a lot less annoying now that ever single move they make doesn't push me onto my ass.

The more that I play the game, the more fun I have with it.
