Nothing is stopping them from doing that. They just mentioned that Astana were pretty much doing that. Just letting Sky and MS do all the work.

All the other riders make use of Froome's train, of course. But only Froome can control his train and order them to accelerate or slow down. All the other riders have to adjust to Froome's tempo.

If it suits them, great. If they want to go faster, too bad because Froome's train will get them back.

Valverde looked like he had to slow down a few times for Quintana, I am sure he could have breached the gap if he didn't have to work for Quintana
