It's not like it's exactly uncommon for producers to do most of the interviews for games. ZOE was long known as Kojima's game because he did most of the interviews even though Okamura was the driving force behind it, same for ZOE2 where again Kojima was the producer and did most of the interviews while Murata served as the director. Not that i'm saying that what you said isn't what UBI did, but the producer being put out there like that happens a lot.

Oh, for sure, but by that point Hideo Kojima was a huge name with 15 years worth of games behind him and coming off of the huge hit that was Metal Gear Solid.

Indeed, whenever you read interviews with producers, there's always a reason why they've become superstars and that's usually a back catalogue of important games. That's what makes them interesting. You interview a Will Wright or a Keita Takahashi, you know you're going to get something interesting to read.

But Jade Raymond? Ubisoft are pimping a star producer before she's even had anything released to make her a star. It's all about her looks.

Again this shit happens all the time, except it's usually with male producers. Given you're a Kamiya fan, you're telling me you weren't upset when Mikami largely got the credit for RE2 and DMC for a long time because Capcom always put him out in front and you hardly ever heard from Kamiya?

There is a -big- difference between the roles of Producers in Western games than of Japanese games.

Producers in Japan have a bigger role in the industry, from not just 'managing' the budget, but realizing it, hiring specific members from various studios, hands on with the actual creative process of the game, PR the title, deal with the press, manage the press scheduale, have the ability to make the final call as to what or what does not get into the game, to focus test or not etc.,

This just pisses me off. Fuck you. Get your ass back in the middle with the rest of the team, as if she was everyones boss or some shit. And if it wasn't her idea to have the picture like this, fuck the person who thought it'd be smart to have Jade Raymond larger than the actual product.

Agreed, i'm just pointing out that it producers being put out there happens a lot for many reasons. Sure she probably was put out there because she's attractive, but why is that so bad? Unless we find out that she was just a plant and had nothing at all to do with this game except for doing interviews for it, then she was still the producer. She still worked on the game. Through all of this we still haven't heard anything come out of UBI suggesting that people who worked on the game are upset that she gets so much attention. That surfergirl site posts a lot of stories about how UBI is incredibly dysfunctional, but none of them suggest that people had a problem with Jade being at the front of AC.

I'd love to share with you the amount of things I've been called or had said about me in the years I worked for GameFan, and now the time I've spent at Play. People have said a lot of ignorant, mean-spirited, cruel, or otherwise offensive things towards me, either for good reason or for no reason whatsoever. Hell, people here on NeoGAF say mean things (indirectly) towards me due to my working at Play.

You know what? That's life. Life isn't always fun, fair, or nice, but it shouldn't be. I was teased as a child simply due to having red hair, which I'm actually thankful for because I learned to have a thick skin and not give a damn what other people say about me, and life goes along just fine.

So, were I Jade Raymond, I might find it insulting, sure, but I also wouldn't give a crap about what some guy on the internet drew about me. Unless you're going to spend your life having your parents protecting you from everything bad in the world, then you learn to be a strong person and not let stupid crap like that bug you.
