UK Citizens Use Death Standing 2 to Bypass Porn Blocks

We're laughing (or grimacing) about the situation with the UK's online safety act, but the EU, the world's leader in all things nonsensical and bureaucratical, is beavering away on its own system. It published these guidelines two weeks ago.

This is of course the first step of a mandatory EU digital ID since the EU's official age verification app has to be linked to an online system with all of my personal information.

My biggest fear (apart from privacy concerns) is that this will lead to a whole hosts of non European websites blocking access to EU countries, because it's just too much of a hassle to implement all these ID checks for foreign visitors who aren't their target/marketing audience at all.

Some countries, like Australia, Canada or UK, have really strong dystopian aspirations and we've already seen that during the covid period. Unfortunately these "safety measures" are likely to spread to the rest of Europe, especially since there doesn't seem to be a huge outrage about censorship, privacy and sharing vulnerable data this time around. Seems like the tactic to keep trying until you win is succeeding.

So yeah, make sure to have a good VPN ready in case this starts to happen in your region as well.

It already happened in my 'region'. Virginia in the good ol' US of A.

Somehow this is America's fault. Something something puritans something.
It doesn't appear to be puritanical, but some bullshit under the guise of child protection. Lots of shitty laws get passed because the assholes that pitch them use propaganda to get them passed. This child protection nonsense is why there are now cameras on school buses flagging people for tickets on the other side of a split 4 lane road to the tune of 20k tickets per month per county and 30% goes to some tech bro.

imagine living in uk xD cooked country

Bruv I see your from Poland, I work with a couple of Polish geezas, there top lads and tell me there thinking of getting back to Poland soon, I said I want to come with them and they said I can fuck off no English. So my question to you, if me and dingy drapped in St George and Union Jack flags full of sterotype English were rolling into Polish shores, would you welcome us or open fire ?

Aren't most sites completely just a splash screen until you give your bank details these days anyway, this is just for those tube site right ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It's just a age verification, sure it's annoying but people are overreacting.
Love the creativity though

Pretty much the same rationale when similar laws are passed in the US and anywhere else.

"They actually thought they were going to have a wank this weekend!"

Almost like they know how fucking bad its gotten so now they wanna shut you up.

They're doing what they did last year, deliberately making the line between acceptable and unacceptable protest ambiguous so that people get cold feet. Utterly despicable, but people are so angry nationwide at this point that I doubt it's going to work.

it's pretty funny to see so many UK sux posts.. once you leave the cities and move to the countryside it's pretty much the best quality of life in the world.

Yeah I live in the east midlands which is pretty rural, and it still feels like England for now. Living in any major city these days though is bordering on a third world experience unless you're wealthy and can afford the nice parts.

I wonder how long before some of these countries start banning VPNs. Not that it's a perfect privacy tool, but they are an easy way to get past these blocks, and they'll eventual turn against anything that can give users even a bit of privacy online.

I will either retreat to the countryside or if things don't turn around then emigrate to Montana or somewhere else in the midwest that's remote and has big national parks and mountains. Somewhere where I never have to read the news again.

The few remaining British enclaves are shrinking by the day.

Checked out a few sites for 'research purposes' and the thumbnails are now largely free of nudity with only the odd one blurred, if you play a video most lack sound and they mostly fade into a blur when the nude parts happen.

Unless you can spoof it like folks are doing here, I'd advise anyone to use a reputable VPN instead of giving your photo ID to a government or government adjacent agency, they've often proven themselves untrustworthy and absolutely abysmal at protecting data. Never expect any sort of competency from anyone linked to the British government.

Of course, this isn't about the children but control in the end. Already we're seeing info over protests being blocked behind it.

Sad part is how few people seem to even know this is happening or how few care to make a fuss over it.

Raise your kids to think for themselves and be resilient when they're not supervised; and be measured the rest of time, the toothpaste is out of the tube on porn, until there's some decentralised, open source, completely anonymous way that folks are willing to adopt as a way to prove age, then completely sacrificing internet anonymity for "children's safety" is a horribly slippery slope. There are already blockchain solutions to do this, but our government won't consider that as they'll always want a backdoor.

Im in Portugal and i already noticed that the more explicit NSFW content in X.com is now temporary disabled.

Reading about the age verification process, some is automated based on e-mail and stuff, other will be available soon like the option to submit a selfie pic to be verifyed by AI. Now, despite im being more than old enough to see adult content, im not sure if i should create a selfie using AI to submit to the AI or if i go with this:

I'll be honest, i have been enjoying watching UK going to shit. Offers me quality youtube content to watch. So please don't change anything, UK gouv.🙃

At the same time, Canada better not be the next in line.

Not a popular opinion here, but can't wait for EU-wide age checks for digital services - it's about time this would happen!
Not agreeing with the sentiment of it all but whoever thinks something like this ain't coming globally at some point is delusional. Everyone pre-internet gen know that access to porn and stuff used to be quite hard and it's going to get hard again at some point. At the beginning only nerds were using the net, so no one cared. Today everyone uses it and therefore it won't remain as free forever.

In the biggest cities you could probably get by with english and translators. But smaller cities and towns will require some basic polish to function.

We welcome all people that want to work, pay taxes and don't want to import their backwards 7th century culture on our streets.

Made me laugh when I saw that you can bypass this with a drivers license from Google Images.

Some poor John Doe who uploaded his driving license to the internet innocently will now be the UK's number one rated wanker with Westminster attributing thousands of fetishes and depravities to his hidden Social Credit score.

I hate living in this crap country. I can't take it seriously that this is to protect children. Of all the countries in the world, the land of Jimmy Saviille, or to be more precise, the land where everyone knew about Jimmy Saviille and did nothing does not care. Everytime someone is revealed to be an abuser, everyone seems to know. Never a surprise. Will be many more to come.

Let me just say if you haven't noticed anything going wrong with Canada in the past decade then you wouldn't notice anything wrong if you lived in the UK either.
No, what i meant by not noticing is the shitshow that's happening in the UK. We don't have that, so if you implied that Canada is the same, that's not true. What i did notice is that the rent is more expensive, and yes, i am aware that it's mainly because of all the immigrants Canada has been accepting. It's just that outside of rent, i don't see anything else that has had a big change. No way it's anywhere near UK and all the fuckedup things happening out there.

To be honest this is not the right attitude, why should we come to your country and have to learn your language, please can you all try harder and learn our lovely lingo. Also we will be bringing our traditions and culture and expect it to be excepted and embraced. Some examples, lad culture, 80s era football hooliganism, fish and chips, pissy larger down the boozer. The radio must play Sweet Caroline and other British greats. As for the work and paying tax, no chance, please have hotels ready and eventualy please build new houseing in the style of British council estate so we can doss about there while your all working.

Thanks for your understanding, I will be shareing details with the lads and we will be making our way in the coming months and looking forward to a warm welcome ❤️.

I don't need to imagine it. I live it. To add to the dystopian vibes, the Home Office have just launched a new police unit to monitor anti migrant messages on social media.

My wife and I are looking to move to Poland. She's Polish, I speak Polish and we have an apartment there as well. The wages may be lower, but at least it doesn't resemble something from the mind of George Orwell.
How bad is it, for real?
There is lots of propaganda. Immigrants taking over and riots etc. My wife and one kid was in London recently, I was legit worried for them because of some X posts. Turns out there was nothing bad happening at all. Worst thing they experienced was thrash everywhere, literally piles of thrash, was like there was nobody taking care of that and people just threw the thrash on top of the pile, or beside it.

As the UK moves ever closer to being a dystopian hellhole, gamers find a creative solution to access their favourite porn sites:

"Those of you living in the UK will be aware of the introduction of a set of "safety measures" which will require you to disclose your identity in order to access adult content. This obviously includes porn sites, but has also rolled out on services like Discord and Reddit.

Not every site implements the security measures in the same way, but some require you to scan your face using a smartphone camera in order to confirm you're of a certain age. It's a potentially dystopian development which raises concerns about all kinds of personal security risks.

While many of the verification companies claim photos won't be stored on their servers, it's perfectly understandable why people wouldn't want to participate in the process at all. So the obvious workaround is to use a VPN of some sort.

But creative Brits have also come up with another solution: scan Norman Reedus' face using Death Stranding 2: On the Beach's photo mode.

A lot of these security checks require you to complete a variety of different poses, like opening and closing your mouth, so the ability to select Reedus' facial expression comes in really handy here. And when you pair that with the overall quality of the character models in Kojima Productions' sequel, it all works a treat.

While we haven't personally tried it for ourselves, we've seen several people mention it on X (or Twitter), and PC Gamer wrote up a first-hand report as well.

We suppose if these safety measures can be so easily bypassed, then it's not massively different to the old "enter your age" verification forms we've all become accustomed to – it just takes a little more effort and nous than saying you were born in 1900 now.

It is pretty funny to think Reedus is about to become the most prolific gooner in the UK, though. He accessed Pornhub how many times in the last 30 minutes?!"

God bless Kojima and God bless the gamers of the UK!
The UK is a freaking joke. A chronically unfunny one, too.

How bad is it, for real?

Absolutely terrible. For real. It's barely a stone-toss removed from freaking 1984, dead-ass and no hyperbole.

A country that allows child rape on mass scale, but then requires citizens to disclose their id just to watch porn.
There is something truly sick and disgusting going on, in the minds of the politicians in the UK.
Its ok to rape kids in the UK, when its done in the name of the region of peace

Where you from? If you're from the States you never have to worry about coming to Europe. Murder rates in the States have always been off the charts compared to Europe. It's just that as Europeans we've had it too good for too long.

Your government froze bank accounts of truckers protesting. Freezing bank accounts of protesters is a line that the UK government hasn't crossed yet.

That's where you're misconstruing data. That's right, the word is rates, in a country that is by orders of magnitude larger than the individual countries you are comparing it against. The UK barely rates as an individual state in the US, and its murder rates are astronomical by comparison. There has been for decades a tremendously higher occurrence of violent crime in the UK vs. the US. Now it's just in freaking overdrive.

"We've had it good for too long." Oh, lol, so what's changed over there? The same thing that's influenced our crime rates here - mass invasion of objectively terrible people.

Also, AI-scanned selfies are peak dystopia. This article should be amusing, and a testament to how good DS2's facial animations are. Instead it's crushingly depressing, like basically everything else I've read about this week.

Fuuhh....

Truly dystopian, I used my banking app to verify my age on PH and my first search "small girl fucked" said it couldn't show the results because it was worried about CP, ffs man I just like petite women.

I cant search "small woman fucked" cause it'll show me midgets, and we all know "girl" means women over 18 on a porn site, fuck this country.

Come on dude rates are always per 1000 or per 100 people. I'm up for having an honest debate but I'm not up for correcting basic things that everybody knows.

UK has much more anti-social behaviour as the country is becoming a nation of strangers with no identity but you're still over 6 times more likely to be murdered in the States compared to the UK.

This has gone way off topic to be honest.

The UK has become such a dystopian shithole, it's sad to see.

But I don't really see how they can enforce this though. There's so many small "unknown" porn sites that I don't see how they could know to block them all. It's probably just the big ones.
Soon there'll be an increased demand for amateur porn sites instead of just amateur porn.
