God that woman, Hague's responses and those YouGov questions are just disgusting.

Agreeing with Cooper a lot here, if you want to scrutinise policies then do it, don't try this Tory-sponsored smearing bullshit.

Oh wait. Judging by her current answer she has a connection to the Daily Mail.

Would explain a lot.
Used to write for the Express, now writes for the Mail.

So the irony of her complaining about dirty tactics is just beautiful.

Gotta love some of those YouGov questions.

Wow...

If this debate was on the radio, do you think perceptions and consequently opinion polls would be very different? And if so, what does that say about a) the importance of performance over content and b) our ability to be influenced by mannerisms rather than the quality of the policies?

The dementia riddled, doddering old prat is Daily Mail?

Well that explains everything.

I particularly liked her description of Lib Dems as 'sandal wearing lentil eaters'.

More Tory scaremongering over a hung parliament from Hague. Surprise, surprise.

Edit: And the crowd are nailing him on it, well done QT audience.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much
Am I the only one who finds Liam Fox really, really creepy? He always has this look in his eyes, like he's thinking about stabbing someone repeatedly. It was hilarious watching Paddy Ashdown lay the smack down on him after the debate though, Miliband's toadying made it even sweeter.

Guardian has just gathered all the polls.

For the record, we've now had five instant polls. Here are the results.

Times/Populus - Clegg and Cameron joint winners

Clegg: 36%

Cameron: 36%

Brown: 27%

Guardian/ICM - Clegg won

Clegg: 33%

Cameron: 29%

Brown: 29%

ITV/ComRes - Clegg won

Clegg: 33%

Brown: 30%

Cameron: 30%

Angus Reid - Clegg won

Clegg: 35%

Cameron: 33%

Brown: 23%

YouGov - Cameron won

Cameron: 36%

Clegg: 32%

Brown: 29%

And here's an average of all five polls

Clegg: 33.8%

Cameron: 32.8%

Brown: 27.6%

So, it's definitely a win for Clegg. But not by much.

Remember that yougov do private market research (they have previously worked for the Tories) as well as opinion polls, guys, before totally buying into the anti-lib dem conspiracy.

That YouGov poll stands out, even within the margin of error. Do they all do footwork over 4 days for "election debate winner" questions? That seemed weird to an unknowledged observer like myself. Maybe that is how it's done. Polling is just plain weird!

Heard it here folks. Britain is like Israel.

Germany is a failed state.

In terms of our relationship with America these last few years, I'd agree. :D

Also, she's the Mail's foreign correspondant...wait, the MAIL has a FOREIGN CORRESPONDANT!

:lol I can't believe she actually said that. First European country out of the recession and she's suggesting they're 'doing it wrong'. Unbelievable.

Also hurrah for the applause for PR.

Shockingly, sky news has several polls scrolling at the bottom of the screen, they all show conservatives in the lead or drawing the lead.

Of course they do, they need to keep track of where the immigrants are coming from!

Has Lib Dems actually confimed whether or not in the hung parliament whether they'll go by seats or by vote percentage yet?

No, and it is my firm belief that they'll drive through the STV-PR bill, then demand another election. Within the year I believe.

The have deliberately refused to specify how they measure the majority.

Why though?

Eurgh this QT reminds me of the workshop I had with Chris Crawford at uni today. A load of hot air is going around between all of the parties.

Dimbleby confirmed to be moderating next week's debate. Awesome.

Also Vince Cable and Alex Salmond on next week's panel.

Did anyone see that piece on Brighton on BBC One just now? They had to list all the parties that were running there and it included Citizens for Undead Rights and Equality :lol

I love impartiality laws.

Makes me proud! :D

By the way, I don't really agree with that article, the greens have always been strong down here and did well in the bummed out EU elections, but I think they will falter at the generals. I think you might see Lib-Dem do well here this time round.

Do we have the front pages for today's papers yet? I look forward to spin city.

[edited out images of papers as I've just been beaten harder than an automatic beating machine in high gear]

That's all we got so far. Normally we'd have the right-wingers by now, but I imagine they're in spin overdrive right about now.

fucking hell, i never really paid attention to the papers before this level of bias is insane :lol

what papers are you guy's reading? what's the most impartial?

I read The Times, its centre right and very pro-tory, although it doesnt come off as bias as others from what I am told and remember when reading the guardian and telegraph as well.

I dunno about anyone else, but I get most of mine using BBC News' website. Don't bother with any papers as such.

Also, BBC News interviewed three of the questioners and they all said they were most satisfied with Clegg's answers to their questions.

Financial Times, has the best World News section and the analysis is brilliant. Most expensive paper though. Tried the Guardian, Independant and Telegraph and didn't like any of them.

Awesome, I really wish I'd watched the post-debate coverage

none of them are really impartial, you just have to read them knowing their political agendas. i get my news from the bbc (who are probably the most impartial major news source), the economist and the guardian website, i rarely bother with actual papers.

BBC News calling out the Times for changing their front page.

First draft reads "Neck and neck" and then less than an hour later they changed it to "Cameron Nicks it"

what exactly changed in the hour? who knows.

A phone call from Dave and Rupert.

This whole Murdoch thing is overstated. For every billionaire businessman there are tens of millions of legitimate voters who agree with the headline, thats the case for left wing press and right wing press.
