That's what I'm currently playing. Where are you up to?
Erm... how do I say anything without spoiling?

Fuckit, you'd expect this to be in an MGS game anyway:
Torture sequence. And fuck I'm stuck because apparently I can't hit triangle fast enough. I survived every MGS torture sequence before this one, yet this seems impossible. Would hate to be doing this on the PSP rather than the full-sized dualshock.

Took me two days to do that on the PSP. Was sure I was going to break the buttons.

Has anyone else seen the new 007 channel on Sky Movies?

I've watched Dr. No this evening and Casino Royale is about to start.

Great stuff.

I know a bit about Graphics2D, my final year project was all about draw shapes (well in Objective-C, but my initial training was in Java).

Also I've had a 007 channel for years. It's called ITV2.

I have been watching UK Netflix for a change. Saw 50/50 which was a really excellent movie about cancer with Joseph Gordon Levitt and Seth Rogan. It was surprisingly very funny and not too heavy, but was also super sad when it needed to be. Highly recommended.

Also saw Richard Herring's Hitler Mustache which was awesome. I was a bit worried that one hour forty was a bit long a show which is all just one man talking to two hundred people would be a bit grating but the time flew by and it was genuinely hilarious at parts, some really awesomely offensive jokes in there very well placed in their context. And I had fun trying to guess who came up with certain types of comedic delivery between Richard Herring and Stuart Lee, since they are very similar in some respects which make sense given their history. But who is the chicken, I wondered, and who is the egg.

I am also quite stoned, as you can probably tell by that last sentence :D

And here's me without smoke. New Office though, so that's something :)

Vied for a tag related to cocks, so here it is.
I'm a lowly first year but have to deal with graphics. Some of it is a serious pain :(

My first 2 years were general programming, networking, etc, etc. Whole range of stuff.
3rd year we get more specialised, I'm doing CS with Games Engineering but all it means is I have to do the games related modules.

What are you using? We're gonna be doing our Graphics in OpenGL.

EDIT: Also, £25 to join the Theatre Society, what in the hell? Most of the societies are like a fiver. Guess they need money to buy props and gear and other stage related stuff?

Good morning Saturday UKGAF! Can't believe I'm watching Jeremy Kyle USA with my cereal instead of SMTV Live or at least some decent cartoons. Been very busy these past two nights with meeting folk and shiz. Someone called me saying that they'll be in Glasgow so I asked if they could pick up my bass guitar and Xbox cables. I can now finally play Resident Evil 6!! Bought tickets to see Looper and Perks of being an Wallflower for tomorrow. Looking forward to that.

Java coursework :(

Fuck sake, Don't tell me it's that Progzoo stuff. To be fair it's a good website to learn the foundations of programming but I thought I made it clear to that university that C#/C++ is far more valuable than bloody Java. Who's teaching you that? Is it a guy called Andrew? Oh well, one more year of it to go and by 3rd year you should be happy to see the back of it...assuming you don't get enticed to do Software Engineering...like some poor sod I know...who's currently typing this.

Java has just become a standard across universities it seems. At least it was when I was applying all those years ago. Though my personal tutor did suggest moving on to C# once I got to grips with Java. Thing is he said this after my first Java lesson so he really jumped the gun a bit there.

But I did learn something in the end. Well enough to go back to the basic scripting on RPG Maker 2k and push it beyond what I was able to do as a kid. HA HA.

I will say one thing for it. Learning Java first has made other languages way easier to learn because they're so much easier.

so youd describe yourself as competent with RPG maker then?

Yup. Progzoo. You're right about the teacher too! You're also right about what course I'm on...Did you have to draw flags with Graphics2D too?

Dude RM2K is so old hat and scripting doesn't work the same way in the newer ones.

While I have tried the newer ones for some reason I just like the feel of 2k. Probably helps that it still has the best built in graphics of the lot.

Yeah the old RTP is kinda nice, that's true. But you get tired of it quick. Everybody stopped using RTP after a while and for good reason.

Well of course the sign of a good project usually is that they didn't use the RTP, but if I'm bored and just want to make a quick and silly little game for my own amusement I'm not really concerned with making my own graphics. Though the last time I opened it was a couple of years back.

Despite my love for that program, I never really completed a project, mostly because I took a make it while I go approach which it the worst way to go about things since you have no plan. It was just fund sharing little stories with my friends with our little in jokes and what not.

Ha! goodness, oh yes! The coursework was "Choose 1 from 3 flags to draw based on difficulty". Easiest one was the USA flag which gave you the minimum pass mark. The hardest one was a spirograph flag if I recall correctly. The memories!

Is Java even used that much in the real world?

Only Java I've came across when looking for a job is J2EE and they don't teach you that in university. Its never used in the video game industry that's for sure.

If you go on the website you'll see the assessment this year. Look at the hard ones, there's 5 to do. The São Paulo flag is making my eyes bleed.

Wait, are they asking you to draw a fully detailed São Paulo flag using Graphics2D? Ha ha good luck.

And as for the real world, you'll often find a lot of companies use their own language.

Got to draw that flag exactly like it is there. You're given a list of all the points of the outline of brazil but they're not in order or properly scaled.
