Theres gonna be a shit ton of Wesker's at NEC this weekend, nerf incoming in t-minus... Can't wait for NEC though, I'll be up early to tune in to as much Marvel and Tekken Tag 2 action as possible. Really hoping we see some insane stuff, and hopefully some high level Phoenix Wright play.

Even now I'm crunching out the last of my statistics final from the survey in the other window. How could I get better when I don't get to play?

Hell I thought he was still addicted Magneto/Nemesis/Wesker trying to catch some of his old DP team's jazz, but I'm rather out of the loop since launch week. Strider and Spencer is nice though. Hard to block or run from.
Kerahime over at SRK is claiming that Vergil on point with Doom Hidden Missiles can create a MVC2 style Strider + Doom lock down and could potentially chip down a 1 million health character with 2 meters.
I found that hard to believe, even with Blistering Swords it's hard to create a set up that could chip a character for that much damage. I want to see the video of that asap. If it's true and Vergil can basically lock down a character with 2 bars then that's automatic S tier status.

Just got the game and played for about 30 minutes. The game feels fresher than I thought it would feel, but I'm finding it hard to adjust to the changes made to the characters (as well as the overall system) I used in vanilla. Nova is my favourite new character.
Hopefully I'll be able to unlearn vanilla and (re)learn ultimate.

I dont expect guys who arent sponsored like Fanatiq, or quasi sponsored like Viscant to go to east coast tourneys, but if you are sponsored by a real team i would expect them to be at a tournament like NEC. Phily isnt close to Cali? So? Isnt that the point of being sponsored so you dont have to pay for your air plane ticket?
Who frequents EC tourneys? Marn seems to. Combofiend made it out to more after joining CC.

You don't seem to understand how sponsorships works...... it's not like players get to demand plane ticket money from their sponsors, it's the sponsors who decide which tourney the players go to, and sponsors aren't sugar daddies who can afford paying for every tourney in the US. And like I said, the players have a life, they have jobs, they can't take leave whenever they like, and they don't care about entertaining us as much as you like.
Complaining is ridiculous anyway, all of the best East Coast players already guarantees a hype tourney. If you want to see West Coast players SCR is coming very soon.

If im not mistaken Combofiend/Mike Ross will be doing work for CC in China, and Fillipino Champ/Ricky Ortiz will be in a AE 2012 tourney tonight. So its not like its because of "Real life" that they couldnt go.

I just find it strange that people were expecting lots of West Coast players in a East Coast tourney. NEC is nowhere near a huge tourney like Season's Beatings, it has only a $750 bonus pot while Season's Beatings had a $5000 guaranteed pot (not to mention it didn't invite any foreign talent for AE), and it isn't usual for big name West Coast players to come to a East Coast tourney of that size. J Wong is the most famous player in the US and it's normal for EG to want to send him to as many tourneys as possible but otherwise the other players don't have that luxury. I also find it insulting to the East Coast players that people are complaining about West Coast players not coming over to their tourney, the standard at Big 2 has skyrocketed ever since UMvC3 came out and I am of the opinion that the East Coast players no longer are behind the West Coast players. And I wouldn't be surprised if most of those West Coast players crash out early in NEC, it's not easy to perform out of your home territory against those who are in their home territory. Just look at what happened in CEO.
