Just played ranked matches for an hour online. 80% of teams had Wesker on them, usually at anchor.

Well, other than Dahbomb. But since nobody has seen Dahbomb play...I don't think we can consider him a "pro" yet. *iseewhatididthere/floeface*
It's even more interesting is that Richard only won once at WNF and only once at UCI, and these are locals.
A lot of the success these Vergil players are having are at minors and it's not something repeatable. Dacid did win TNT for instance, but usually at SBA or Southtown usually gets handed to him pretty quickly by Chrissis, Kbeast, F.Champ etc.
Justin dropped Wesker because he feels the character is cheap, overused, and just not fun to play as.
Whereas all I know is I've seen, heard or read a lot of these Vergil players saying they want to drop him due to team structure reasons or effectiveness reasons. That, or at least relegate Vergil to a B team. Regardless, there are a lot of people dropping Vergil.
Justin claimed on twitter that hes gonna teach Mike Ross how to use Cap to go with his hulk. Will be interesting. Marn seems to be using Cap as well but who knows how long that will last
Richard was still using Vergil/Dante/Nova my point was if he ends up droping Vergil then theres an issue with Vergil and where he places in tiers and what not.
It was suprising that Jago picked Vergil to beginwith. In that first WWHY he was pretty negative iirc.

Funny you say that - because on topic, Marn should keep his Captain America as he's been having decent success with him, and drop his Vergil. Naturally, his Zero is his best character.

Jago is a DMC fan. I remember he was actually wishing that Vergil would be DLC way back when Vanilla first came out in an interview with Yeb. He was negative on Vergil because Vergil does have glaring issues - he was complaining about the unsafe issue. I know he's trying to use Vergil on his Zero team, but more or less said that his Trish, Dante, Wesker team is the way to go. The DMC fandom in him is what's making him keep Vergil as a back up team I'd suppose.

And a good thing they did dropped him. They got punished for trying to play him like Dante/Wesker. Character specialists still are holding on to Vergil because you know... he's pretty good.
The only person who for sure dropped Vergil is Nerdjosh. Jago has Vergil on his secondary team and is still at least playing him on the side to get some more match experience and tech on him. Yipes is on and off Vergil. Dacidbro picked Vergil, dropped him and then picked him up again and moved him to a different slot (replaced Captain America with Morrigan). Marn, Richard, LPN, Flocker and OMG its Andre still using him. Sam's Club/Arisu and Zeus (Zeus is the best Vergil out there and in fact Vergil is the best character on his team of Vergil/Dante/Wesker) are also Vergil players to look out for.
Biggest DMC fanboy pro player is actually Yipes... as surprising as it may sound. He said so in his interview that he's a fan of DMC. He actually makes "Son of Sparda" references in his commentary. Jago I think is a DMC fan too.
He needs to go either Zero/Vergil/Magneto or Captain America/Zero/Magneto. Zero/Vergil/Magneto is a VERY strong team.
Cap and Zero have great synergy. He needs to add Sent to that team though and drop Vergil cause Cap+Sent are bffs and Zero+Sent also bffs
As a viewer/streammonster/ fan i do wish hed work on magneto. His magneto in vanilla was a pleasure to watch. Easily the best magneto player if you ask me.

Sentinel would be a good anchor. A good fraud anchor naturally would be to say 'fuck it and choose Wesker." Either would be better off than Vergil.

Marn has gotten blown up by Sentinel in vanilla way too much already to go back to him.
He just needs to put Magneto on anchor, Zero/Vergil/Magneto. Or Captain America/Zero/Magneto. Vergil on anchor doesn't make much sense... it's playable but move him up the order please especially when you already have Magneto on the team.

Haha, ggs. I went "whaaaat" when that level 3 hit Strider. I didn't realize it had that many active frames, and got hit on a forward tech. >_>
I have no clue on how to use Rocket Raccoon, or Amaterasu for that matter(mine is quite fradulent, as you might have been able to tell), so I won't bother saying anything about them. But for Frank... I'd suggest learning his relaunch BnB with the axe. It's just MMH > Axe once you've launched someone, allowing for a solo relaunch and much more damage. Also go into the zombie throw on a blocked/whiffed slide rather than launcher. Does good chip, helps Frank stay in ther against pushblock, and is much safer, since that thing has insane frame advantage.
Rocket Raccoon and Amaterasu in the same team... so frustrating to fight. Tiny hitboxes everywhere.

Apex is a major for the sole reason that it's a Road to Evo event. That and the still relatively large scale of it solidify it as a major.

@Rocket: Did it at least give you trouble at any point? God I suck at TKing stuff in actual battles. Also, RR is the only character I get qcf rather tha dp most of the time and it annoys me SO much >___<
@Frank: Well, I kept worrying more about leveling up Frank, and because of that I try to do the least amount of damage before the THC. Yeah it'll bite me in the ass later. Still, I do need to learn that.
I noticed that what decided our matches most of the time was if I leveled up Frank and if your Strider lived. Damn that Strider.

I don't know. He's really dropped the Magneto ball. And recently he's dropped Vergil for Hawkeye, and has been beasting with Hawkeye.
And he seems obsessed with Nova's overhead assist. It works really well with Dante.
I think he's going to stick with Hawkeye, Dante, and Nova. And maybe replace Hawkeye with Vergil here and there as a substitute team.
Oh yeah, that little furball gave me a lot of trouble. I have no idea what normal it was you were using, but it was anti-airing the shit out of me. It even blew up Strider's air dive thing(the air QCF + L one), which has insane priority. It's almost like it removes Rocket Raccoon's hurtbox. >_>
Also, Vergil is the same way for me. I never get DP when I want a QCF, or a QCF when I want a DP. It's bizzare.
Heh, yeah. Level 4 Frank just shuts everything down. Heck, even Level 3 Frank has godlike normals.
My Strider is much better now than it was a week ago(a week ago, Strider was basically 'mash mash mash' for me), but I don't use his s.H, projectiles, Gram or his wallcling enough. I'm getting there, though.

I use Captain America/Magneto/Sentinel.
Captain America and Magneto have pretty good synergy if you're willing to think outside the box. Shield Slash pushes the opponent towards you allowing 4 way mixups if you can force them to block it (easy with gravitation). Also lets you get BEHIND the opponent in the corner.
I prefer Magneto Hypergrav assist for Captain America. Lets him easily extend combos in the corner and is still relatively safe with Captain America doing side switches.

Spent some time playing ultimate at a friend's house alongside KOF and I really want to practice with Morrigan right about now. I'm curious about Ammy's weapon stance combos after seeing some cool stuff recently on stream.

No, Alukard played Jill in a match. They specifically went out and downloaded Jill for Alukard, postponing one of his matches or several IIRC.

This is why DLC characters are a bad idea. I know Flash and Clockwork also want to play Jill but have repeatedly said that since they are DLC they don't want to risk training for months on a character that might not be on the roster in a tournament they enter.

That Vergil guy was using Nova + Vergil SS unblockable set up that I was talking about a 100 pages ago (back when Nova was on my team). The Thor + RR combo was SWAG as fuck.

My friends blamed it on lags but they never knew that it was overhead until few weeks later, they evenly figured out. :lol
One of my first main team was Ammy, Shuma, Dorm. (sometime I used Ammy, Wesker, Dorm or Sentinel, Ammy, Dorm.)

I simply think it's more desirable for a character to stay true to his or her origin game in terms of their tools. I just think that those tools should be altered to be made more effective if need be, or differentiated from the rest of the cast to make them more unique. Instead of adding Soul Eraser, they should make Finishing Shower good. Instead of giving her a normal dash, they should make her air dash good enough to cover all the bases it needs to (i.e. give her the speed and trajectory control she has in Vampire Savior or better, which is the entire damn reason she's any fun to use in that game in the first place as far as I'm concerned). Don't really see the point of stripping out attributes that make her unique; why even put her in the game at all in that case? Plenty of other beamers and wavedashers to pick from already.
They did a wonderful job with Felicia. Things like Toy Touch and Kitty Helper are relatively faithful in implementation but were buffed tremendously and appropriately. That's the kind of stuff I appreciate.
Ammy's level 3, Skrull's level 3, Felicia's Kitty Helper, and the first hit of Hsien-ko's Tenraiha are overheads. Or at least were in vanilla. I haven't checked hypers for overheads in Ultimate yet.
