Ok stealing from that Japanese Thor player I have a combo that can actually build a bar now. So now I can either go for the hard combo and get just under 1 million damage with a DHC or go for a reset that will build more bar and kill no matter what.

And I think you can airgrab Joe before the S comes out after the uppercut. Pretty sure there's enough time for the average character to do it, but I'm not 100% on that.

Oh, one thing that I thought was hilarious from the earlier matches: GB doing a Team Hyper and having Joe Mach Speed through the entire thing. If I was paying more attention, I may have been able to end the match right there. But seriously, that shit NEVER comes up so I'm not surprised I didn't take advantage of that.

I think it can go fullscreen twice if a fast enough character bothers to chase him.
I'm starting to finally use his hypers in my regular combos now. Before I would just meter hog for Ryu, but being able to do a nice, short combo into Slow-Mo works a lot better for me. And Frank appreciates a mach Speed into TAC to help him level, although that can be a crapshoot at times.

Proper meter use is a real big thing I need to work on, still haven't gotten rid of those Phoenix habits. Probably why I didn't think of the Phantom Dance against Ryu.
i feel you, sometimes im too greedy with meter i cant get a good balance of meter usage, for me its like save it all or use it all.

Playing my Wolverine team again makes me wish they didn't change the knockdown time on Akuma's Tatsu assist. Hit confirms were so eeeasy.

Yeah, seems like a general philosophy change. Almost nobody has knockdown anymore, and even the guide is wrong about a lot of assist properties. I'd be able to do so much shit with soft knockdown on EMD assist.

Can't wait to get back to this game. I've been messing around with She Hulk lately trying to remember good times, now I have a relaunch like this? Thank you! Her slide sucks but I can live with that. The torpedo causing wall bounce and pushing them away further is nothing now.

Long combos = swag combos. If I was any better with Wesker, then I'd be using my Joe/Jill/Wesker team so I could actually do an air magic series that doesn't end with Six Cannon and instead OTG into Slooooooooow.
There's a 33.3% chance that I will do an up TAC. Unless I'm fighting Kurt Angle, because HE KNOWS HE CAN'T BEAT ME.

Haven't heard it yet but it's Viscant talking about UMVC3... it's a must listen especially if you care about the meta game.
I expect a ton of "Zero is the best character in the game" talk.
Vergil = Viscant dropping the knowledge and truth on Vergil. He is 100% right on Vergil's ability to kill assists... he is one of the best happy birthday characters in the game. He is also right on optimum team construction of Vergil... put him 2nd with horizontal assist. Viscant confused why people aren't dominating with Vergil despite being popular (although he referenced that FFIV had Vergil dominance). Viscant announces that if no one is playing/winning with Vergil 2 months after today... he will start using Vergil just to show people what's up. Thinks Wesker/Vergil/Hawkeye or Wesker/Vergil/Doom is a top team.
Firebrand = Viscant exposing lazy Americans and Firebrand (as being stupid good). Talk about the unblockable set up and how people aren't using/abusing it.
Super Skrull = legitimate threat to be top tier
Ghost Rider = Generally bad against teleporters and zoners (I don't fully agree on teleporters though) but has some dominating match ups. Wolverine and Spencer are characters that Ghost Rider can deal with among Viscant's top list (I also think Felicia is in there too).
Dr Strange = People aren't using him correctly, awkward/unsafe. Viscant thinks people need to just spam teleport for mobility. Agrees with the general sentiment that Dr Strange's ability to kill off 2 characters is just too strong to sleep on.
Nova = Does solid damage, Combofiend wrecks with him... Viscant is confused how people land hits with this character because they aren't blocking hit enough/avoiding air throw situations. Says he is doing better because of lack of match up experience. Doesn't see Nova as right below top 5. Might be suffering from the She Hulk syndrome.

Says that Spring limits your opponent's options greatly and has obscene overhead game. Viscant wants to see RR tech.

Ammy still good and can fight Wesker. Optimum position is 2nd spot for him. Says Phantom Dance went from being one of the worst hypers to one of the best thanks to "random" factor because that is a CREDIBLE STRATEGY. Viscant like all normal human beings find this incredibly DUMB.
X-23 = Really good, people need to explore her down the order and be back into the meta-game. She can self-Berserker Slash and can mix up/get in without assists. Can kill 2 characters thanks to Dirt Nap.
Spencer = Viscant's most hated character and makes him extremely salty. Thinks Up Grapple not being scaled is the single dumbest thing in UMVC3. Spencer should not be getting 1 hit kills especially off of command grabs. Assist is really good and goes great with Wesker. Moves faster than he should. Viscant states that Spencer is basically the MVC2 Juggernaut of this game... only he's always powered up and has 100x better mobility. Happy birthdays with Spencer have been buffed thanks to Bionic Bomber.
Doom = Top 5 or whatever simply because of his versatility and easiness to put on a top team thanks to 3 good assists. Can play without assists. Foot Diving is a LEGIT STRATEGY. Why is the back of his head have an active hit box? Can play different playstyles... yet still win. Best beam assist in the game. Viscant states that a character doesn't have to good just as a point to be good/top tier... Doom is proof of this because of his team contribution. Thinks that his corner cross up/fuzzy guard set ups need to be patched.
Dormammu = MastaCJ referenced. Viscant states that Dorm epitomizes the Marvel mantra... just keep doing it until it works. Crazy dash cross ups, Dark Matter into teleport is insane, 2C1D plus assist + Stalking Flare chip is insane, high damage and good health. Dormammu... just do it.
Viper = Once she gets started it's over. References the MarlinPie vs FChamp match where Marlin perfected him with Viper and FChamp states "but I didn't get to play...". Wrecks entire team similar to Firebrand/Wolverine. Inescapable set ups, Seismo spam, Optic Blast + Seismo shuts down assist call, absurdly high damage. References the "result" argument and states that is stupid. States that the "problem" with the character's difficulty is that you have to make a solid read and a precise quick input where if you mess up either the read or the input you might lose. Theoretically if you play her right... you will never lose. Compares her to MVC2 Strider.
Phoenix: Still a major threat but doesn't dominate as she used to because of hard counters which include Strange and Hawkeye plus soft counters including Dormammu. Best part about her hasn't been nerfed.. if Dark Phoenix kills one character she is still the best. Air X factor makes her mix ups better. Says Phoenix is harder to play thanks to fireball nerf. Kinda of agrees/disagrees on Strider vs Phoenix. Says that if Strider has Ourouborus set up before Phoenix.. she doesn't get to play but the opposite is also true if Strider is coming in vs Dark Phoenix.
Dante: Gets why people are dropping Dante... a lot of the same magic is gone and people don't like the changes. Still dominating with great hit boxes, Hammer still really good, does good damage/good meter build. Thinks people will go back to him after a while.
Hawkeye: Gives a lot of good characters serious problems. Bothers Doom a ton. Even Zero has trouble with Hawkeye. Crushes Phoenix. My first online match in Ultimate involved Viscant using Vergil to demonstrate that I actually do have poor intuition on when I should be calling assists.
Agreed with him on Nova, too. That character is so telegraphed.

I don't know what to think of a "top 17" tier of it's own. I can't see Taskmaster and Zero as a part of a "top" tier. Sounds like madness.

Taskmaster can actually fight against Zero, has great match ups, normals, hypers, damage plus great assist. Task trumps Zero in team slot versatility. All those top 17 characters can body each other and no one is worse than 6-4.

There would need to be something legitimately groundbreaking for me to believe that RR is a good character, and this is coming from someone who still believes Wright isn't terrible.

The most invisible overheads ever and a bizarre sort of space control + rushdown style. It's really hard to see a lot of his stuff coming if the player knows what he's doing.
Biggest disadvantage is that his opponent kind of has to be grounded for any of this to work, but hey, that's what the team is there to help out for.
