I love that Marvel is apparently promoting smack talk amongst the Japanese players.

Ha ha, this fucking game.


Edit: Interesting to note that the majority of players participating in the tourney seem to primarily play the game on 360. Pretty interesting seeing as how it's Japan and all.

So you've changed your mind and agree that Iron Man is mid-to-low tier in this game too then? Considering no one plays him, and on top of that it is unlikely and hard to win using him vs. half the cast.

Mags is nothing short of A tier. A highly proficient Magneto can decimate S tier characters. I love that Magneto's a specialists character now rather than a sort of Wesker of vanilla you could say. Frauds dropping him out of straight fear means Magneto play is so much more respectable everywhere. Ease of use is all that keeps him out of S tier IMO.

Also, I don't get why everyone says Magneto is so hard to play. It's easier for me to hit people with him than Wesker.

I've considered Iron Man trash since week one. What I openly denounced was people talking about the character as though he had zero potential. Now, while I do consider the character to still host untapped potential; I have doubts that any of it will make him competitive. I think he is Tron-level bad in this game. Bottom 3. He can be playable, but he has to be played in a very specific way at mid-range, and even then; he lacks the mobility to mix it up. He needs to be baby-sat by Assists.

It sucks, because Iron Man being bad/changed has stalled my development in this game hardcore. Before Ultimate released I thought: "Worst case scenario: Iron Man is bad and I find another character to be passionate about. There's plenty." But I don't think there is one. Dante/Mags/Iron Man are the characters I love the most and I don't want to play Iron Man in this game. He's simply not fun - even where he's effective. Plus, I had a shit ton of technology using his Beam Assist with Dante nobody is doing, which doesn't work as well with anyone else. Stings even more. Now, I just mess around with other characters individually, with little consideration for the team, which makes me bad. My training mode sessions have little focus.

Not gonna argue about Mags. I think he invites the same biases Viper does. People don't want to consider a Marvel game where he's just not THAT good. I can see him being S/A/B/C tier in consideration for how the game develops. Maybe after Dahbomb is done studying for his next exam he'll write an essay or whatever touching on many, many points I haven't considered.

I really need to work on my XF3 Astral Morrigan crouching L spam technique. It's almost slipping below my top-secret Chun-li lightning legs spam technique, not that that's anything to be ashamed of.

I'm using one of my MvC3 teams right now.

I gotta remake my Firebrand team later. He's not worth dropping but I'm having fun with some other stuff at the moment.

I think it's real cute how Ultimoo keeps bringing up 1 match where his Sentinel reverse ocv's me. Since he seems so keen on it so let's take a look back. It is my beautifully blue Thor/Hulk/Hakeye team going up against Ultimoo's Nova/Whogivesashit/Sentinel. The match starts out as anyone would expect it to go- My Thor/Hawkeye combination tearing through Nova/whogivesashit with multiple correct guesses, perfectly timed resets, and well placed elbows to the dome. Then incomes Sentinel- a character who's one dimensional gameplay is only accentuated by the one dimensional player playing him. He pops xfactor immediately and takes out Thor. One incorrect guess on my part. He takes out Hulk. Again my bad. Bops Hawkeye. Shit happens right? Normally I don't care about losing to things like this but it's what Ultimoo did after the match was done that just made me laugh. He stood over Hawkeye and proceed to taunt. At this point I'm losing it. Why else would he taunt? He knows for a fact that he lost that. He knows his win is only due to the fraudulence of xfactor. He knows that I am better than he is. All that taunt told me was "Yes, I suck at this game. I can only make 3 correct guesses the entire game and the only way I can win is to hope that they are with xfactor level 3 Sentinel."

He must be proud of his fraudulence. Why else would he bring it up multiple times?

If you're losing to a guy with one dimensional game-play, playing a one dimensional character, does that mean you're a zero dimensional player? you don't even exist on this plane of existence because you're just so bad. All you do is spam tri-jump on Thor, standing H on Hulk, and Hawkeye? Let's not even talk about your Hawkeye, all I know is the only combo you know on him is gimlet, x-factor, gimlet. That's a pretty high skill cap combo right there, don't hurt yourself pulling off those abc combos on hulk too, 750k for a hulk combo that only includes one charge move and one QCB motion? if only all brain dead characters could get away with that. I'm surprised you don't play Wesker, ABCS, ABCS. That's right up your alley. Don't hurt yourself thinking about concepts such as doing srk motions or actually pressing buttons with a rhythm, we wouldn't want our favourite panda to get hurt.
