I just noticed that dog running across the NYC stage at about five minutes and ten seconds. It actually hurt Nova when it ran past him. Is the dog something specific to the NYC stage or Haggar? :S

Yeah, this is what I've been brainstorming about for a little while now. Seems like a great way to protect against spam while you shoot out beads and use Dark Harmonizer. I bet Morrigan could benefit greatly from the reflect as well.Karsticles said:You should put Amaterasu on point, get your Reflector out, call Nova's reflector, and then call a third one (MODOK's?). REFLECTIN' IT UP!

Yep, but not remotely as popular.Boney said:Sissel would've been a better pick though.

You know that SonSon was based on Sun Wukong from the Chinese novel Journey to the West right?SolarPowered said:Still... I wouldn't mind some sort of Monkey spirit monster. I'm pretty sure there Japanese legends that they could use for something like that.

Karsticles said:For Phoenix Wright, it's all about the MODOK Shield Barrier assist. You're invincible to anything but hypers if you stand inside that thing. Dig away!
Then, Wright NEEDS to hit you with "Objection!" to get his groove going. I think an assist like Hidden Missiles is perfect for him in that sense, and it lets him dig for evidence if you lose MODOK. Doom will be hard to punish behind Maya's shield barrier.
I'm not saying to stand behind it, but rather IN it. If you're standing inside the shield, any attacks with a hitbox that touch the shield are negated. It's really fucking annoying if a rushdown player knows how to use it well.Or ...you know...they could jump over it or teleport like most folks do. Barrier is pretty easy to handle. Though you'll likely get at least one dig for evidence for the attempt...Strider/Wesker will eat it alive though and Storm/Magneto push\pull may very well drag you in front of the shield.
Just saying is all.

Watching the S-Kill demonstration now. I'm liking PW more by the second.

To get into Turnabout mode, you need 3 legit pieces of evidence, then hit either the opponent or their assist with the Objection bubble.

Are you trying to predict his viability beforehand or what? If so, bad idea. If not, Phoenix is looking like a high risk character by design. His entire gameplay style is "run and hit," and massively assist-based, meaning he will be most often used as a point character. I think that's really interesting and would be quite fun regardless of how it all turns out in the end. 1.4 million damage or whatever combo from Seth Killian says he has potential, but we have next to no idea about how durable PW will be competitively because of the shifted state of rushdown vs. zoning in UMvC3 versus MvC3.Dirtbag said:What the hell am I missing? Banana Kid said:I think we're hearing Confident Phoenix for most of his time in the fight, which is probably why he sounds like he does. I really like his confused "MAYA?!" when he calls her out, so I'd really like to hear this dude deliver some standard Phoenix Wright dialogue to find out how well he can really pull it off.
Also, I totally love the sound effect it makes when Maya hits dudes.
Dirtbag said:I really just don't understand the phoenix hype. I must have lost my sense of humor.
I'm sure there will be some funky combos discovered ala modok, but I wonder if he'll see similar playtime after the dust settles.
