UMVC3: Phoenix Wright and Nova Revealed!

Nah I only listed the ones where someone actually had some thought put into the team.

Like for example, Nemesis plus Vergil is actually a really good combination. Vergil can OTG while calling the ground bounce punch to extend from his Rising Hightime... really upping his damage potential. Plus the assist protects Vergil with an armored hit that he can easily hit confirm off of. Plus JC hyper DHC into the tracking rocket launcher. I believe this is the LPN patented tech.

Strange just goes well with teleporters with the beam acting like a pseudo Sent drones. Vergil's Rapid Slash and Ghost Rider's Chain of Rebuttal allows characters like Strider who have a single hitting OTG move (like the slide) to continue and extend their combos. Ghost Rider has great defensive assists so he goes well with zoners.

Teacher is pretty warm to my proposal, but says it needs more math to run some hard numbers on. We're going over specifics of things I could try to survey us on dat Marvel for college. I may add a "rank score value of character's usefulness" to capture some mean, median and mode stuff...I should have the short survey up really soon everyone.

Is this for new characters or old characters too? You would probably have more accurate surveys with older characters seeing as how much stuff on the new characters is going to be subject to A LOT of "guess-timations".

Is there a specific due date in mind? Something like this might've been an awesome early post for a reveal thread(just one example) or as a multi site survey(SRK would be WAY more active than GAF for this sort of thing imo).

Just throwing out some tips. We'd certainly want you to get the best grade possible. :)
 
This is probably related so I am going to say it here.

I am going to do a complete statistical analysis of MVC3 vanilla season tournament results like I did for pre-EVO. A lot of my predictions came true for EVO thanks to raw statistical data and analysis. Results will cover up to the Curley Mustache tournament so I will post the entire thing when that tournament is done with.

This time I will be pushing it further and include characters up to top 8 for each tournament and divide categories into Winners, Grand Finals and Top 8. It should be fun to look at the stats for vanilla in its entirety going into UMVC3.

im looking forward to play 3 of em(Hawk, Doc, Vergil), Nova mmmmight make it. I dunno what to expect from Raccoon and i know i wont like Frank West...still a waste to me.

How much are the downloadable costume packs right now? I imagine that the DLC pricing for UMvC3 will be the same, so I'm figuring out if the $10 savings is better than the DLC bonus that I would have bought anyway.
 
Seth Killian talks playtesting, character choices, balancing, release schedules, the market etc.

Talks preliminary work on some characters, but mostly if they never committed to a character early on, they're not secretly stashed anywhere unreleased cause they can't afford it. "We don't have a vault of secret awesome characters that we can turn loose on the world."

20 minutes of Gamespot screwing around with the TGS build. Watching now.

The Costume Pack 01 is 400mspts. That's 6 costumes for ~$5 USD. UMvC3 costumes will likely be 4 costumes for the same price, so yeah your saving money regardless, and they already said they will all be for sale later.

Very true. The only issue is that NewEgg doesn't offer release date shipping, I don't believe. And I will absolutely need this Day 1.

I just cancelled the Amazon preorder I placed back when Ultimate was announced.

As much as it hurts, $10 is better than Robo-Akuma and OG Sentinaaalll.

Thank goodness. With her getting a damage boost and now her having an OTG move, she'll definitely be a LOT better.

Now someone just needs to ask Seth if Heroes and Heralds has an offline versus + training mode + online player matches.

Dahbomb where is that info from? A lot of the stuff there is unproven/inconclusive from what you can deduce in videos.
 
I just worry when that newegg will ship the copies. It says it ships AFTER 11/15. Wonder how much after.

I just might stay with Amazon or buy in store. My impatience will cost me 10 bucks maybe, heh.

Thanks for the heads up with Newegg. Ive ordered from them before. Last time They shipped my preorder early to arrive on release day. Hoping I get the same treatment.
 
God I don't like that X card. There is somethign about him that just seems off. Then again I haven't like an X design since Command Mission, but at least it's art of him I guess.

I am planning to use the following teams:

Main1) Wesker, Nemesis (armor assist), Virgil
Main2) Wesker, Trish, Virgil


Virgil, Trish, Wesker (for testsing)
Trish, Wesker, Virgil (for testing)


Wesker is an amazing point character. If he opens up a character, he can possibly take out two before tagging out. Getting in and using the Nemesis armored assist with Wesker on point will be godlike. From my experience, putting Trish or Wesker as anchor with XF3 is not great against good players. They will TP/Super Jump all day and run out your XF. This is what made phoenix so great.. she would set traps/tk shots/ and teleport to rush you down. There was no running from Phoenix.

I see Virgil with XF and LVL1 summoned swords as basically inescapable. He will have safer normals with XF and can track you wtih TP's so you cannot run.

Trish is underrated as she completely shuts down Zero, Wolverine and other S+ tier rush-down characters.

Feel free to provide feedback. I am also thinking of going Wesker, Nova, Virgil for an all rushdown team. Nova's fullscreen slide assist can make for some godlike unblockables.

how could no one find it? were they just uninterested or unfamilar with chun or does she have a lot of new moves? she only has 4 special moves and 2 command normals in vanila. please let it be her f+h command normal so that she can follow up her own otg into extended combos without an assist. if so, she'll definitely be one of the better batteries.

How many people do you know with the latest build of the game? It was tested for in previous builds but never concretely found. I'm betting it was only added recently too, cause Seth always kept talking like not all the moves were implemented yet.

Plus knowing Chun's luck it's probably a magnetic blast command or something.
 
Pre ordered the new testaments. Can't wait.

Has far as teams go I'm looking to try dormammu , nova, strange. Not sure about synergy. Current team is dormammu Dante doom(assist char). And they work pretty well.
