Oh I get it...sersteven said:Not Alt Costumes for DLC, but the alt colors? I would hardly say they were really good.
Why can't we get actual references or maybe even new ideas or designs for ALL the characters, not just the popular fan favorites.
I mean a really awesome recolor like Ghost Trick Phoenix Wright with Ammy-Missle is amazing, while looking at the Darkstalkers and some of the other characters, it's just plain boring. Deadpool gets an X-men outfit with redrawn details while most characters get a new pallet thrown on their existing clothes?
It's just lazy
Darkstalkers colors weren't bad because of bad references. They were bad because no one on the team cared enough to even put interesting colors. They couldn't even lift some old colors that were good...enzo_gt said:Chris' alts are ass and Caps alts are awesome aside from the Avengers Cartoon Space Suit or whatever.
Saying the Capcom alts are lazy is one way to put it. I said it before, they should focus on palette options instead of references for some characters because some of those references are just mundane or do not translate well to the character models. Darkstalkers being the worst offenders.

Great video Max. Thanks for showing a bit of Firebrand - I know you're not keen on him. Those She-Hulk relaunches. -_-
Watch out, you'll make She-Hulk players start whining even though they don't know the full extent of her changes! All of that whining about She Hulk being nerfed to hell was nothing but hot air lol.
Too late...so shorter, making harder to get a relaunch, by getting a wall bounce which renders her Hyper semi useless, and overall looking heavier is not a nerf?
LOLOL yeah and it totally last into another match!Jintor said:Wow, I didn't notice the Strider's Ouroboros changed the music just like Phoenix Wright stance did.
Perhaps it would be more helpful to give advice than to tell him he's not good?Videos of how to not play firebrand!!!![]()

The hyper launches her forward more, which makes you cross yourself up at certain distances. This seems to be an intentional, but I don't quite comprehend the purpose of the change. She can still topedo x hyper like old, but at that euro event some people complained that her moving forward more now on the Hyper fucks it up near corner?
Fixed for me. Nic Cage is coming, bro. Being all on the other side of the screen, swingin dat chain. <3goldlion054 said:Watching Max's video helped me realize just how much I'm going to love Ghost Rider
Maybe it makes her a tiny bit better for certain DHCs.Karsticles said:The hyper launches her forward more, which makes you cross yourself up at certain distances. This seems to be an intentional, but I don't quite comprehend the purpose of the change.
As far as I know, the third hit on the Emerald series was pretty much a universal DHC. The first hit hasn't changed in terms of range AFAIK, so I don't think it will help her as a hyper to DHC into. Maybe they just wanted to give her something frustrating?Maybe it makes her a tiny bit better for certain DHCs.
Again a weird decision cause DHCing with She-Hulk is probably one of the easiest ones to link already from the looks of it (*doesn't play She-Hulk*), the corner situation especially is optimal.SolarPowered said:Maybe it makes her a tiny bit better for certain DHCs.
I mean connecting the first hit. Jumping forward a tiny bit may help her when someone decides to DHC her into the stage. Most of her normal DHC stuff involved getting your opponent into the corner so that you could safely DHC her into the stage.Karsticles said:As far as I know, the third hit on the Emerald series was pretty much a universal DHC. Yeah... it may be a small bit, but tiny things like that could turn into something pretty huge later. No one would have ever expected Sent's drones to be as good as they are. Changing them into a simple blockstring asist had a pretty big effect on how people perceived them in UMvC3.Karsticles said:As far as I know, the third hit on the Emerald series was pretty much a universal DHC. I'm talking about bringing her in with the DHC emerald cannon. EC is currently a stationary hyper that only gets her in via DHC if the opponent is trapped in the corner. Giving it a tiny bit of extra horizontal coverage may be useful under certain circumstances and with certain characters.~Devil Trigger~ said:not really
point character just has to be a bit close to opponent, and Jenny would DHC fine, no matter where on stage you are. It has solid range.
You know I help people with stuff, they just gotta ask. But Max has had the game for awhile the video could just be an older series of matches. On top of the game still being new, who's to say the person using firebrand wanted to really use him as well might of just played them to show off the character a bit for all of us.Karsticles said:Perhaps it would be more helpful to give advice than to tell him he's not good?
Does he really retain his momentum when doing this like Joe does? I'd need to see a video. For getting in full screen, short hop diagonal down fireballs are your best bet for covering ground, it works similar to how joe can get behind vomerangs to advance in.
No he doesn't maintain his momentum, but when the fireballs hit the ground they have a firebottle effect plus they are in general slower than him. Which is why you do a low to the ground diagonal one to get distance.Karsticles said:Nah. We'll have functionally different teams. I won't be able to use Firebrand's Hell's Elevator moves for assist mixups since all of Dormammu's assists are bad for mixups. I plan to mainly play a delay game with Fireball H's combined with air dashes to make them mix up for full combos, and if I need to go in, using Dark Hole to pin my opponent for instant overhead mixups. Left/right mixups won't be doing a lot for me I fear.

Say UMvC3 version is like this...
Doom ground FINGER LASERS+new EC=Connected DHC
While MvC3 version is like this...
Doom ground FINGER LASERS+old EC=No connection for full DHC
The fire disappears if Firebrand takes damage, though, and the move has slow startup - I don't think you'll be able to approach safely like this. There's also no evidence that he can have more than one out at once and stack them, which would mean dead periods between fires. If we could, there would be problems with his combined mobility and endless fire juggle combos. No he doesn't maintain his momentum, but when the fireballs hit the ground they have a firebottle effect plus they are in general slower than him. Hell's Elevator might not put my opponent in Dark Hole range, though. I'm interested in exploring his dash attacks for this, since they push my opponent back a bit.You can do high low mix ups with the same set ups just about.
Never said anything about having more than one out at once haha. Even if the start up isn't the fastest thing in the world, there is a reason why I said fullscreen. Sure you wont use it against every character, but it's an added option vs members of the cast that have issues vs that type of stuff.Karsticles said:The fire disappears if Firebrand takes damage, though, and the move has slow startup - I don't think you'll be able to approach safely like this. The reason Joe's Voomerang series work is that each one keeps your opponent busy while you are loading up the next one. If Firebrand has to spit each one out individually, and can't have multiples on the screen, he won't be able to do the thing you are describing in most situations. Personally, I plan on just using Bon Voyage to get in when I need to, and then canceling into Luminous Body for a 50/50 mixup if it fails. Easy and safe!Never said anything about having more than one out at once haha. Even if the start up isn't the fastest thing in the world, there is a reason why I said fullscreen. So far I've received 10 completed surveys and some of this data is already pretty awesome. Also seeing everyone's teams was both cool and frightening as hell in some cases.
I can't wait to share my charts at the end of this project. Thanks everyone.
It crosses up because it moves forward but it's not a problem, a slight adjustment to inputs so that it hits the other way.~Devil Trigger~ said:watchout, you might be whining.

If zoning actually becomes a problem in UMVC3... Captain America will come to the rescue. The ultimate counter pick against zoning.Who on the cast is going to zone him out? Press a button, then you're going to have to read a book. Mash buttons trying to rush down, then get hit with a teleport and risk Impact Palm loops, or use a projectile and get countered. Some of that stuff in the video....o.o
