Uncharted: The Lost Legacy |OT| Ladies Trip

So, can you just walk/run around the open world without driving? Might just be me, but I feel like it will be tedious to get into and out of the vehicle all the time. But I haven't played through the section yet, so I don't know if it would kill the pacing to walk the whole area.

I'm currently in that chapter and walking would take forever.

This game is beyond beautiful. At times it looks like concept art.

Ah, okay, thanks guys. Have no idea how big the level is. I just know that I RARELY use mounts on a game like Horizon, and this map has got to be way smaller than that, sooo. But if I have to use the vehicle for stuff, then I'll just have to accept it!
The walk/run speed is too slow to do everything by foot. Some of the target areas are bunched together though and you can certainly choose not to use the jeep in those areas.

Why is the sound volume sooooooooooo low? In Uncharted 4 it was fine. They need to increase the default sound volume.

Was hoping to come in here and see someone with a fix. Noticed the same thing. I use headphones and I can turn up the system Sound in the Quick Menu, but then if I am in Party Chat that is waaaay too loud then.

Nothing I have tried in the in game sound settings seem to do anything for me either.

This game is stunning, somehow even better than UC4 graphically. Did the first two chapters quick before bed and it is unreal. The set pieces already are insane through two chapters. Holy tits this game is good.

One thing I was also surprised at is there are probably just as many quiet moments in LL as there are in U4 yet I loved them in the former yet mostly hated them in the later. I even loved the climbing segments.

Finished Uncharted: The Lost Legacy a few minutes ago. Spoilers below.

Play time was 14 hours 55 minutes on hard with hints, npc markings and that enemy awareness/detection thing all off.

POSITIVES
- Visually, TLL is absolutely stunning. Would still give the edge to Horizon Zero Dawn but TLL is in my opinion, the second best game this gen in visuals.
- Music is good, not great but all the sound effects and voice acting is superb.
- Gameplay is basically Uncharted 4 but better. Controlling Chloe needed to be a little more tighter and fluid. Shootouts are excellent. Puzzles were somewhat easy as the longest any puzzle took me was around 10 minutes but they were all good and enjoyable. The plat-forming is excellent and thankfully, the use of pulled/pushed objects feels a lot less than in previous games in the series.
- Love Chapter 4 for one reason - it's what an open ended level/chapter is supposed to feel like. Purely optional but I did everything on the map and enjoyed it all.
- Enjoyed all the chapters though.
- Excellent set pieces and an awesome long action packed explosive ending set piece. A few good adventure set pieces throughout the game as well were good too. Really enjoyed the set pieces in TLL a lot more than U4.
- Story was very good and interesting the entire way plus unlike Uncharted 4, never takes a back seat to anything else as it stays the focus the entire way through.
- Characters were great (Chloe), good (Nadine), solid (Asad) to meh (Sam). Naughty Dog should turn Lost Legacy into it's own separate franchise with the Uncharted name leading it. I could easily play another Uncharted game with Chloe as the lead. Nadine was good and I enjoyed her way more than what she was in U4. Asad was good for what he was. Absolutely hate Sam. Just sick and tired of a Drake being involved. Enough is enough. He's just so bland and boring and truly serves no purpose. Plus, I don't want to see Chloe second if there ends up being more games in TLL series. Chloe should stay the lead no matter what.

NEGATIVES
- Sam. I'm simply not a fan and not happy that a Drake still had to get involved in a game that shouldn't involve a Drake. Was hoping that Same was going to die or something but nope, he lives, survives and is all laughs at the end. UGH.
- No turn, curve, twist or swerve. Was really hoping once I saw Sam be introduced that the end would be Nadine shooting and killing him, stealing the Golden Tusk of Ganesh escaping with a sequel being setup where you play Chloe going after Nadine to get revenge but also see both going after a new hidden treasure.
- Team mates. Obviously, it was a two person team but jeez is the AI bad. The enemies don't detect Nadine but even worse, sometimes, I want to do certain things but can't because she gets in the way. Adding Sam made this feel like Uncharted 4 which is NOT what I want from hopefully, this future spin off series. Just no. Should always just be one character with the secondary character here and there.
- Happy ending. I know im ranting about it but if this was just Chloe and Nadine, I would have no problem but my excitement for the game decreased once I saw Sam be introduced. I'm just sick and tired of Drakes, period. Very happy Chloe survived as she should. Nadine surviving is good too but I really wish some kind of turn or swerve would have happened simply because I think that she would be a better antagonist than a partner protagonist.

OVERALL
- Uncharted: The Lost Legacy made Uncharted feel refreshed and revitalized for me personally with really my only major negative being the inclusion of Sam as im not a fan of the character and wish the Drakes would just die already. AI issues like the lack of detection for your CPU AI partner would be the second negatives. Really hated having Sam with me and Nadine at the end. Sam's inclusion prevented the game from being a half point higher but still, TLL is now my second favorite Uncharted game behind Uncharted 2 which I was fully expecting and either second/third best depending on how people feel about U3. Hoping for another Lost Legacy with Chloe (and Nadine) in two years. Wish Naughty Dog would have a small separate team work on TLL franchise. That probably won't happen but I can hope.

Overall - 9.0/10

Anyone else think it's interesting how they stole NuLara's background for Chloe but actually made her a likable character? She has the same origin story but she's not whiny or helpless or delusional.

weebey.gif

It's telling that I didn't even think of TR reboot+Rise while playing this, it's in a different category altogether. Rise in particular is just pure schlock when you compare it to ND handling Chloe here.

Great reading this thread and the reactions, I thought I'd be in the minority thinking this is one of the best Uncharteds but it's reassuring to see I'm not :p

Just finished up. Really loved it. It might beat out uncharted 4 for me. May fall behind 2 in my rankings.

Graphically it was incredible. Playing on a pro with an HDR tv looked fantastic.

the whole game almost felt like a sequel of sorts to uncharted 2, but with mechanics of 4. That final chapter in the game...the train level!! Uncharted 2 vibes.
Would I have liked some sort of twist? Sam killing Nadine, or vice versa? Sure. But can’t complain overall

Earlier today I bought myself a Sony Platinum Headset to play Uncharted The Lost Legacy with 3D audio, everything was set up just as I wanted and, lo and behold, I injured my right hand really badly - swollen with a burning sensation.

I can't even hold the fudging controller 😕

End game spoilers:
I think that might be my favorite section in the entire series. It felt like a culmination of the series as a whole, encapsulated in the evolution of the convoy mission. The truck turrets of 1 and 2. Leaping between vehicles from 2, 3, 4. Driveable vehicles from 3 and 4. 4's grapple hook. All contained with a new and improved train mission that lets you seamlessly commandeer vehicles and leap from train to trucks. It was incredible.

Yep, told ya. The way it moves from one segment into another is fantastic. It gets even better when you replay it. You could say
it's recycled content since it's basically a mashup of UC2+4 setpieces but it instead feels like a love letter to the franchise as a whole.

Outstanding game really, all things said and done.

My only negative in that section would be the melee combat against Asav specifically felt slow and clunky.

Everything else was amazing though.

Damn that sucks. Feel better soon.

Thank god I dodged the official trailers. Whew! They're very spoilery.

Here's an example. (Don't watch if you haven't finished the game)

Maybe some moments aren't that spoilery out of context but they even showed the train sequence? WTF?
even reviewers are instructed to not talk about it AFAIK. Sony's marketing team is terrible.

Man if this exact game had released under the triple pack (which I got) it would have given Blood and Wine and good run for its money.

Uff as a huge Uncharted fanboy this one is a tough one to rank because it was REALLY good. As of right now I think U2 still holds the crown because of what it accomplished from from going from 1 to 2. I think 3 has the best set pieces and 4 has the best treasure plot. Lost Legacy definitely takes the cake for visuals and gunfights. While Golden Abyss (yes it exists) still has the best puzzles. Personal Rank: U2 > UC4 > LL > U3 > UGA > UC1

I'm guessing this is for Uncharted for a while now. ND is "most likely" going to start working on a New I.P. after TLOU2. After that its either going to be TLOU3 or possibly another Uncharted. Maybe we'll get another $40 Uncharted like this one in 2022 for the 15th anniversary.

I just avoid all ND's marketing stuff now, they make great trailers, but always show too much.

I'm really hoping this game returns to UC2 form when it comes to replayability. I went through UC2 probably 6 or 7 times between the PS3/PS4 versions and it never got old. I literally gave up halfway through my second run of UC4 which was hugely disappointing.

So for those that don't know, you can turn down the motion blur during in-game options under the display settings.

Personally, I found 10 to be too much and something like 5 looks a lot better.

Try it out if it's something you're concerned with.

Christ, I feel like this game is killing my console.
UC4 made the fan loud, but this makes it sound like a 747 is waiting to take off.

Yeah it definitely made my Pro pretty loud. Hasn't been like that since Horizon. Not looking forward to how its going to sound with GOW or even Last of Us 2 XD

finished chapter 4. loving every bit of it.

i'm kinda hoping there's a supernatural twist in this one. i know a lot of people don't like it but i do and its part of the uncharted charm for me and i missed in on UC4. though there haven't been any hints so far so i doubt it will happen :(

its not the "number" of quiet moments, its how long they go for. and how spread out it is. UC4 had a lot of slow momentum killing bits in. Young drake, liberteria where nothing happens outside of hanging with sam. The climbing bit on the island also went on for wayyyy too long. Here it's all about the right length.

This is where my desire to platinum slowly fades.

its one day in. That's just unneccsarry to post without a spoiler tag and/if at all.

I just avoid all ND's marketing stuff now, they make great trailers, but always show too much.

yeah. can't believe they showed the last chapter. It does look cool so I can see why but anyhow, I played it without watching any trailers. Refreshing!

Fucking awesome.
The disc was loose in the case when Amazon delivered and now for the first time ever since having a ps4 back in 2013 I'm getting a disc can't be read please close application screen.

Just finished it. End credits rolling as I write this. Fantastic game, from beginning to end. Chloe is my favorite character of the year. Really hope future games continue with her. Wow!

Played the first two chapters. It already feels a bit like Uncharted 2 with an Uncharted 4 layer over it. I like it. The platforming doesn't feel as super obvious to me as it does in the previous games. This is probably the most consistent series in gaming for me.

So what difficulty is considered the best by people who've finished? Thought U4 was difficult on moderate but the first few shootouts have been a cakewalk in this. Marking seems like a crutch as well so turned that off.
