So I just recently started this, but I know whether or not you kill enemies makes a difference. My question: Does it matter if I kill the dummy at the beginning with Toriel? I attacked it without thinking.

Dummies don't count, since they can't die. Being violent alone doesn't break a pacifist run, but so long as you have your mercy button, you don't need to fight anyone. Just be careful about accidentally killing things.

Okay, I'm finally going to start this. Should I just dive in without knowing anything?

Going in blind is the best way possible. I'm surprised I managed to not get spoiled at all up until the time I got around to playing it, and I must say it was one hell of an experience thanks to that.

So I finished what I suppose was a mixed run (had no idea there were even multiple endings or consequences to my actions until seeing this thread). Killed everything pretty much until about halfway when I started realising perhaps that wasn't such a great idea haha. Then started sparing most enemies/bosses. Ended with

me sparing Asgore and Flowey going insane with an amazing boss fight. And then me sparing Flowey, with Undyne ruling the underworld.

So I'm going to replay it and not kill anyone. After this, have I essentially "finished" the main game? I understand there are a heap of branching paths, but if I see a neutral ending and a good ending, will I have satisfied the main chunk of the game?
Also, is a good run as hard as it seems, with only 20HP?

I know there's an evil run also, but lets not include that for now.

You've pretty much got the gist of it.

20 HP goes a long way if you play smart and shove food into your face constantly. If you find yourself needing a bit of a boost, there's always the Inn, too. Really, though, since you've been through once you oughtta know what to expect regarding attack patterns, and that's half the battle with Undertale.

Regarding neutral endings:

They all follow the same format (call from Sans after muscling your way past Asgore/Flowey) and consist of Sans (and possibly other people) telling you the state of the underground based on your actions. There's some pretty neat dialogue from him there, but it's all non-essential.

As far as going hog-wild is concerned, that's up to your own discretion after your good-boy run is done (or, hell, before that if you really wanted to; I'm not your dad). Do what YOU think is right for you, not what anyone else tells you to do.

Also Toby has stated it's not in the plans, currently, (with Linux taking precedence over consoles). Though, he doesn't rule it out either.
