He was my former governor in New Mexico, and I've listened to him in interviews and even watched about 10 minutes of a debate that may or may not have taken place on the moon.

Even I am not entirely sure who he is.
What did you think of him as Governor?

What kind of incompetence!?!

I know the right is plagued by cognitive dissonance and living in an alternate reality. But I truly facepalm at the idea that strategists, advisers and staff of a goddamn presidential campaign are not aware of the factually difficult road that's ahead of them, and keep in mind a worst case scenario. It fits perfectly with the "Romney had no consession speech prepared" thing, but it just baffles my mind.

Utter failure.

Ericsson, Commerzbank, RIM...they're not even American. And it's going to be funny when the December BLS report shows that more than 100,000 jobs have been added through the month.

It must be a talking point because guys at work were making a big deal about layoffs everywhere locally. I go home and find out it's one company laying off 12 people.

it is exactly why even had he not gone full on tea party in the primaries why I decided he would not do as our President. It's obvious he is not grounded in reason and like the example of Fox news and fans, live in a giant rationalization (God's will and all that nonsense), never really apperaing to weigh all of sides of situations. Between god's will and being richer than hell Mit never struck me as someone who experienced a lot of "challenges".

Not to mention like most on the right totally underestimated the rest of the country's feelings for Romney's plans and Obama's. I'm sure they also assumed everyone else must hate the black guy too. That 47% comment screwed him I think/

2. Independents. State polls showed Romney winning big among independents. Historically, any candidate polling that well among independents wins. But as it turned out, many of those independents were former Republicans who now self-identify as independents. The state polls weren't oversampling Democrats and undersampling Republicans - there just weren't as many Republicans this time because they were calling themselves independents.

huge...

shit all they needed to do was listen to Nate Silver. ;)

It's ironic then that to the extent the government is hurting business at all, it's primarily through Republican obstruction and intransigence.

It's amazing to learn that Romney went to PA not in an act of desperation because they saw OH slipping away as Axelrod and others suggested but because they thought they had those swing states locked up and were looking to expand what they saw as an electoral blowout. No-one who had anything to do with the Romney campaign at a senior level should ever work in politics again. The incompetence was just off the charts.

I hope they do in four more years.

Sort of exemplifies the GOP and conservatives in general in a macro way I think. Reality distortion field, misinformation, rejecting facts figures and the truth etc. Basing actions on false premises and so forth.

The Onion has been hitting on all cylinders for the past six months or so so that misstep is really egragious.

To cheer you up, here's Barack Obama thanking his campaign team. Ya'll elected a human being, guys.

Such a great video. Tugs at the ole strings. Never seen Obama choke up or tear like that.

Playing around with electoral college numbers instead of working...

If each state awarded their electoral votes proportionally (based on total statewide popular vote), Obama would win 274-264.

If each state awarded 2 EVs to the overall winner and awarded the rest proportionally, Obama would win 278-260.

Here's the (incomplete) spreadsheet. I want to figure out which states would have the best "bang for your buck" based on these systems.

You poor man. What kind of job do you have that crunching hypothetical EC scenarios is preferable to work?

So...right-wingers are now blaming Sandy for Obama's victory? What the whating what? Are they that damn desperate to avoid placing the blame on themselves or their party?

Yeah, "If it weren't for that pesky hurricane and Obama doing his job, our guy could have won!"

Awarding the EV based on proportion is stupid. If the EV is going to mirror the popular vote then what's the point of the EV at all? Just get rid of it.

Does anyone know when Romney's victory speech will be?

On election night the liberal media just kept replaying Obama's victory rally from 08 for some reason

Yeah, "If it weren't for that pesky hurricane and Obama doing his job, our guy could have won!"

It doesn't even make sense considering a large portion of them believe hurricanes are controlled by God. He wanted Obama to win, I guess.

Amazing. This is what happens when you live in a bubble floating around inside an echo chamber.

I heard some local conservative talk show parrot spewing his list of scapegoats today. The Liberal media, Sandy, Chris Christie and a flip flopping moderate Massachusetts candidate were the main culprits. Hilarious, because not a week ago this guy was proclaiming Mitt would win in the biggest landslide since Reagan over Carter and now he's being thrown under the bus.

The amazing thing to me about the Romney Blinders is that if they actually did have good info, they could have been tightening up the race in some places. And they could have adjusted message if they knew it wasn't working. Totally self-defeating.

Romney didn't put in the hard work. Barely made any campaign stops. Never had a serious message regarding the economy. Shot himself in the foot 10 times with his trip overseas, Libya, flip-flops, 47%, Iran, 2nd and 3rd debates, Paul Ryan and all his baggage, running so hard to the right in the primaries when he didn't need to. Romney was just plain dumb. The writing was on the wall but the dude ignored it.

Saw this on Twitter...

Seems military absentee ballots weren't counted and would actually make Romney the winner!

The no concession speech thing is just stunning to me. Don't you always at least have a speech written, no matter how sure of your chances? Talk about hubris.

I find it odd that none of the staffers asked him about it, pushed for it, or even wrote something down and handed it to him for him to change or whatever should he need it.
