There's something hilarious about the first results of this election being a tie.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Apparently Glenn Beck is a fan too; I don't think he realizes that he was the template for the villain.

Haha. That's pretty funny. I dislike neocons like Beck far more than Liberals, who are at lesst typically consistent ideologically and have a desire to help others, even if I disagree with their methods.

What do the chances of Obama winning Florida look like right now? I'm messing with the NYT thing, and it looks like as long as Obama wins Florida, he's got this in the bag.
Seems like a genuine toss-up, there are polls giving it either way, almost all within the margin of error. Not to be a conspiracy theory but I think the GOP establishment there will find a way to break it for Romney if it's close enough. One of the biggest advantages Romney has in places like FL and OH is the GOP officials running things.

Coverage should be pretty easy to get via mobile-friendly streams tomorrow, yeah? I have to work all goddamn day after I go vote.

That's what I'm thinking as well. I don't trust Scott. It's genuinely sad that we are even contemplating fraud in the polls. Doesn't it make sense to have a non-partisan government agency that runs all things election?

How would you help others, hokahey? Tell them to pull themselves up by their bootstraps?

Seriously, why are we debating the ethics that form the entire basis for society as a whole, and especially modern society as a whole in a presidential election thread? We're not voting in order to completely dismantle everything because we suddenly feel it's all unethical or not. We decided that long ago. It's ethical. We decided to have a sort of representative social democracy with a mixed economy, too, a while ago. Now we're deciding a few people in that democracy.

Can we leave the debates about the entirety of society as a whole to other threads? Seems a bit out of place here...

Oh. Well, is it ethical then for anyone to ever have more than anyone else? Just seeing where the line is drawn.

Sure. There are plenty of reasons why someone might deserve more than someone else, and more reasons why it'd be a good idea to let someone have more than someone else.

Still waiting on a positive argument from you.

Damn, this is two hours away. I'd probably get shot.

Ala. GOP plans election night party at gun range
HOOVER, Ala. (AP) - Alabama Republicans plan to hold their election night party at a gun range, where participants will be able to shoot a few rounds as returns come in.

The state Republican Party is inviting supporters to the 52,000-square-foot Hoover Tactical Firearms for a "victory party" Tuesday night.

The suburban Birmingham business sells firearms and it has ranges where people can shoot their own guns or guns that are available for rent.

A party announcement says the shooting ranges will be available for two hours during the election event. There will also be a band and an appearance by Miss Alabama.

Loaded guns will be allowed only on the firing range and a party spokeswoman says drinking won't be allowed while people are shooting.

Republicans are expecting GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney to easily carry Alabama.

Wasn't that NH precinct very Republican before going for Obama in 08?

A tie bodes well for Obama in NH...probably.

Yep. It has a very distinct Republican lean. Dole cleaned Clinton's clock there back in 1996. I wouldn't read too much into it, other than maybe it being a good sign for New Hampshire - especially since Obama won 4 out of the 5 independent voters there.

The same way I do now, by volunteering my time, money and efforts to worthwhile causes. I'm a big fan of Big Bros and March of Dimes. I dont happen to know or care about any political affiliation they have so plesse don't make that an argument.

So its ethical if I take your property by force assuming I then distribute it in such a way I feel benefits the greater good?
You're welcome to try, but first you'll need to use only private roads to come and take it from me.

I'm freaking out about insiders in both parties saying PA is tightening, but then I see the Unskewed Polls final projection has gone from a Romney landslide to him just winning 278 EV and I find it strangely calming.

Why wouldn't it be?

Because you think its ok to take from others by force to ensure people have the things they need. There are still people that need things, so if you have something of value you dont "need", isnt it ideologically consistent for you to give up those things so that people in need wont be?

Currently watching Paul Ryan speak, and I'm not paying a lick of attention, but I have to say, the lady with the long gray hair is very attractive. o_O

While charity is commendable and you are an awesome person for doing it, it will never be enough so that everyone will have an equal, or close to it, opportunity to succeed in life. That is what taxes and government programs/services are for. It is simply way too big for charity to handle. And I think that is what society should provide an equal chance to succeed by having access to a good education and good health care. That simply wont work if you get rid of taxes, make everything private and rely on charity to help children who were born to poor parents succeed

Seems like you're putting an awful lot of words in my mouth.
