A blast from the past:

Popular vote % is meaningless.

And yet Obama will still win it by 1-2% points.

I am seriously baffled and shocked by al the reports and stories in here that voting is so hard.
Shouldn't that be a top priority to the goverment? Make sure the federal goverment handles the voting proces and make sure it happens good and fast?
Or am just talking like a commie now?

When more people bother to vote a certain party tends to lose, this creates an incentive to make voting not easy

Was 6th in line at 5:15 here in Kansas City, and got out of there at 6:08. Had I waited until 5:30 to show up, I probably would've been in the early 100s or so.

One party wants to make it easier to vote and the other wants to make it harder, especially in urban areas.

I honestly cannot stand the figure heads of the GOP who use scare tactics to get good people to make misinformed decisions.

I know the US has a far larger population, but what is with these queues? In the UK I walk in and out in 5 minutes, then again I do vote in a small village. How far do you generally have to travel to vote in the US? Maybe they should set up more polling stations?

You are making complete sense (or being a commie according to half of America). Elections are handled on a state level at that is what leads to this mess

Saw a few people get snared in some straight up "provisional ballot" bullshit - the poll worker didn't lie, but she definitely didn't tell the truth.

She said, "You can file a provisional ballot and it will be collected with the votes today"

She should have added "And it likely won't be counted unless it's a statistical tie, and even then, it likely won't get counted because some political party will find a way to reject it."

Seriously, what the hell is wrong with the democratic process in the United States?

Just got done in Missouri. Took me about 30 minutes; was the only one under 25 in line.

Romney is going to win MO, so I voted for Gary Johnson just to mess with the system.

The most important race in this state is probably McCaskill-Akin (which is still embarrassingly close) so...

+1 for McCaskill.

And now to sit back and enjoy the show.

+1 for bams in Cook County. LOL. Ill just put my grain of sand right here. like 35 judge reappointments and other stuff. 2 pages long if you do a straight ticket or know exactly who you are going for it takes 15 minutes.

Good luck America, the future of your politics is at stake (i.e. how much politicians can lie/mislead and get away with it).

I'm being tempted.

I've recently become a godfather. I spoil this baby rotten, lavishing her with lots of gifts, etc.

My brother-in-law (her father) is a die-hard Republican, and it seems like he's gotten to my sister, who knows that I consider a Republican vote a stab in the back. She's getting more and more hillbillyish, complete with openly racist commentary whenever politics comes-up.

My temptation: If Obama wins.. that baby might be getting an Obama onesie snuck-in with her pile of Christmas presents. :)

Same here in Sweden except it's on a sunday. Having to vote in the middle of the week seems kind of stupid.

Tossed in my vote for Obama in SC... not that it matters really. My vote is basically a statistic as it'll go all republican from local to federal. =/

I am not voting for the President of the US but I am so terrified Romney could win. Damn.

?!?! Then why are you not voting for him? Look I understand people have convictions and feel like they voted for x/y/z independent candidate because it fits more with their views. However if you are terrified that Romney will be elected, why are you voting for someone other than Obama?

Here we are. Wife and I are voting Obama and Heitkamp.

Did my part for the popular vote, and Senate. Let's hope these two pull it off!

Will you post what they are saying, Names retracted of course.

I'm on my iPad ATM, copy/pasting isn't the easiest on here. Suffice to say that most of them are family or friends I made when I was a youth minister at a southern baptist church, so you can probably guess a lot of what is getting posted. Ranging from "this country can't survive 4 more years of Obamtard." to slightly more derogatory remarks. My favorite though are the people saying, go vote! Then reply to themselves, for Romney.
