Darn, how many CONCACAF teams qualify for the world cup? 2.5? A tie can't be good

3.5 this time. Three automatic spots and then the 4th team plays the winner of the Oceanic group, which will probably be New Zealand.

Care to explain?

Have to go to tiny little 3rd world countries whose fans and federations treat you like shit, the fields are awful, and the referees are completely incompetent. When a European team has to travel to play one of the minnows of their group, it means they get to see the casinos in Monaco, or the beauty of Belgium. The US has to be escorted to their hotel via a military escort, will be purposely bombarded by sirens and car horns the night before a game, and then have to play the game while dodging bags of urine, getting purposely hacked by the opposing team, and being completely screwed by referees who aren't qualified to officiate my sister's high school games.

You guys should be happy. Winning all the games at home plus getting one or two points outside should be enough to qualify for the hexagonal.

Just be thankful the US does not have to qualify in South America. lolololol

US, Mexico to renew rivalry Aug. 15 in Mexico City

CHICAGO (AP) The U.S. soccer team will face rival Mexico on Aug. 15 in Mexico City, the first exhibition between the two on Mexican soil in nearly 28 years.
The Americans are still seeking their first win south of the border in a series that dates to 1934. Mexico is 23-0-1 against the U.S. on its home turf, most recently earning a pair of 2-1 victories in FIFA World Cup qualifying in 2005 and 2009. The U.S. is 15-32-12 overall against Mexico.
The last time the U.S. played a friendly in Mexico, the Americans lost 2-1 on Oct. 17, 1984.
The United States currently leads Group A in CONCACAF qualifying for the 2014 World Cup with four points after two matches.

Haha was it as bad as the last US anthem? Remember that one?
she sang it ok, she just butchered the lyrics at the end. they were panning down the line showing the canadian team singing and they just got lost in the confusion, was pretty funny

U23 loses to Canada in olympic quals and the USMNT only got a draw in their friendly. The women better pull through!

Just want to point some things out.

At least here in Guatemala we don't usually throw bags with pee to other team's players, at least not to your players haha. In the past, fans would go to rival's hotel the night before the game to make noise and blow some fireworks, to stop the other team from sleeping, this is not something that happens nowadays. The USA soccer team wanted soldiers to escort their bus on the way to the stadium, which was completely unnecessary, while we are a 3rd. world country, we're not terrorists.

Hope we manage a draw against you in the US, you got lucky with that tie over here, Carlos missed a golden chance.

See you guys in October!

Italian media report Bradley deal

As soon as American Thomas DiBenedetto took over as president of AS Roma, the club has not at all hid its desire to bring in a Yank.

According to a story today by SkySport Italia, that much-rumored deal is finally right around the corner, as Chievo have reportedly accepted Roma's offer for central midfielder and USA mainstay Michael Bradley.

Bradley is coming off of a highly successful season on a personal level for the Flying Donkeys, in the process earning himself the nickname "General Bradley" from the Chievo faithful. 2011/12 was the American's first Serie A campaign after his transfer from the Bundesliga's Borussia Mönchengladbach, with whom he had spent the better part of the previous three years.

A 2011 loan to Aston Villa of the English Premier League would prove a disappointing one for Bradley, who made only three total appearances before returning to Die Fohlen.

Bradley did not appear to waver in his confidence, however, as he went on to impress mightily for Chievo and spark a variety of different transfer rumors. In addition to Roma, Palermo, Inter Milan, Fiorentina, and reigning Serie A champs Juventus have also been said at different points to be interested in bringing Bradley aboard.

If he does end up at Roma - and SkySport has reported that the deal could be done by the end of this weekend - he will find himself alongside a highly capable mentor in the center of the field in Daniele De Rossi. While De Rossi may perhaps be best known to USMNT fans for his vicious elbow to Brian McBride in the group stages of the 2006 World Cup, the Italian international's quality is undeniable: barring injury, he will surely start for the Azzurri in the Euro 2012 final on Saturday against Spain.

Bradley's understanding of the tactical side of the game took a giant leap forward during this past season for Chievo, an improvement that was readily apparent during his recent appearances for the Red, White, and Blue. Under De Rossi's tutelage, one can likely expect more of the same.

Judging by the fact that the story was also posted on Roma's official website, it seems as if the transfer deal is incomplete really in name only.

damn, i wanted milan to make a bid for bradley.

roma makes sense though, considering the american owners. good luck to him. he kicked ass with chievo, hopefully he continues.

Fuck Nike the addidas tech fit jerseys fit soo much nicer ( I tried on a real Madrid in the same size) I am soo disappointed I want to actually wear this playing around and not look like a twelve year old. Anyone ever tailor a jersey before? I need to take it in like in every area

i love the look of the red/white hoops jersey (i think we should stick with that motif, what better way to rep the flag on our jersey?), but im not a Nike fan and havent bought 1 US jersey because of it.

I've never heard of altering a Jersey before... But if it's possible just find a local tailor.

Wastes hours checking old Famitsu software data, but that's why we love him.
So it definitely looks like Bradley to Roma is almost done:

“Work for Michael Bradley of Chievo is well underway and I want to make it clear that his capture is not a marketing ploy,” Sabatini, who was hired after the American takeover last year, noted.

“Bradley is a pragmatic player, one sure of himself, who knows how to play and knows how to win. I will be honoured if we complete his signing.”

Also seems like Liverpool will be making a bid for Dempsey.

MB90 to Roma

http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2012/07/07/american-exports-roma-hope-have-bradley-camp-monday
AMSTERDAM — Chievo and AS Roma have finally settled on a transfer fee for Michael Bradley, with a package of 3.6 million euros, half-ownership of Adrian Stoian and a season loan for Leandro Greco in exchange for the US midfielder.

A source close to the situation told MLSsoccer.com that the deal is down to paperwork, with Roma manager Zdenek Zeman hoping to have Bradley at their preseason camp in the northern Italian hamlet of Riscone on Monday. The 24-year-old New Jersey native passed his medical and inked a four-year contract on Thursday.

The transfer caps a 14-month Giallorossi crush, with technical director Walter Sabatini recently telling local reporters that the club would have chased Bradley last summer if the necessary non-European Union roster slot had been available.

After hosting a friendly against Romanian second flighters Turnu Severin next Saturday, Bradley and his new teammates will fly to the United States for a three-game tour. They'll take on Poland's Zaglebie Lubin at Wrigley Field in Chicago (July 22), Liverpool at Fenway Park in Boston (July 25) and El Salvador's national team at Red Bull Arena (July 27).

Also there's a documentary being made about Bob Bradley coaching in Egypt:

Always happy to see an American get a chance at a big European club, especially Bradley who was really good with Chievo. Hopefully he does well!
