All signs point to Negative but let's see.

1 part hyperbole, 1 part joke, 1 part general confusion, 1 part morbid curiosity which will keep me going

Pfft. All you need is the
Double tap to the skull. No one survives headshots in Sunrise anime (unless you manage to back up your subconscious to a computer interface (stupid 00)

Now it's official , it smells and look like a gigantics trainwreck of twists code geass-like!

I cannot imagine yet how ridiculous and messy everything was.

Valvrave -2

Now that I've got my other issues with this particular show out of the way (and can actually watch it in an understandable language), I'll get down to the obvious.

Yes, this is fun. It's also very dumb, but I like how it isn't ignorant of that fact with what they did here. It's practically asking the audience to laugh at the absurdities.

I realize self-awareness doesn't make the writing any more intelligent but it does make things more enjoyable. Can't really argue with that myself.

On that note, I do not think this will have the sort of ending Code Geass had, much less an ending like Guilty Crown's. The scene at the end might trick some people into thinking that, for obvious reasons, but you need to look at the context and the fact this is episode 2. I might be wrong, but I'm predicting that after all the twists and turns the finale will be very different. Whether that's good or bad is something I'd rather not worry about yet.

Also, I still like the main robot.
The ED makes me think it might actually transform after all though.

Episode 2
Dammit those kids can even pliot a fucking copter, what have these schools been teaching them?! And oh yeah!!! I knew she's isn't dead!!!

Action is still great but the rest is LOL. This is really a mix of Gundam and Code Geass. Will continue watching

Valvrave 2

I don't know what to say. Somehow the show seems self-aware about it's own ridiculousness. More gun fights and mech fights and some "twists" predicted from the first episode.

This is definitely not the show to watch if you're looking for a "serious" story. I can only expect they're going to try and include more crazy stuff as the show goes along.

There are a lot of similarities to Gundam but it doesn't really have the same charm. I'll still watch it though just to see what happens.

Random kid takes control of an all-powerful machine, does over the top techniques with said Machine.

Sounds like another Gundam story to me. As far as the being over the top, nothing will be TTGL.

[Episode The Second]

This was really, really dumb. The entire script, all the set up all, all the drama, all the romance and all the twists. It's a complete package of nonsense that almost makes me thing they're trolling the audience because no-one could seriously write this.

Valvrave - Duh Liburaytuh - 02

The episode featured:
  1. Yelling
  2. Cell phone conversations while at war
  3. Yelling
  4. Shooting
  5. Yelling
  6. The Number 666
  7. Yelling
  8. Robot suicide
  9. Yelling

Haruto gets to see
Shoko again
and after Yellan N' Shootan N' 666an N' Stabbin still
cannot confess to her and makes a dick joke
.

Dumb show, very fun to watch, it gets a Yelling/10.

JUST FUCKING SAY YOU LIKE HER GOD DAMNIT JAPAN

::cough:: What I meant to say was I watched the first episode and enjoyed it but I tend to like dumb mecha shows with flashing lights. I'm easily amused :( I'm hoping they made the main character insufferable at the beginning to give him so much room to grow that even the least talented story tellers could make him more likeable by the end and create a character arc.

Knowing nothing about the show going in when I saw the Dyson Sphere at the beginning I hoped it would be more hard sci-fi. I'm disappointed that its not but my general interest in the setting is enough to keep me on for a few more episodes.

My biggest compliant is the amount of texting and internet in the show. Perhaps I'm just too old but I never enjoy it when shows feature them heavily. Showing the comments explode at the end... ugh

Reposting from the Anime thread:

I wonder how many people actually care about this, or know what the "problem" actually is. :P

I don't know what his problem specifically was but it bugged me during the show that each plate would need to be the size of Jupiter yet they treat it like it the size of a large city or a small region.

Man, that was fucking awesome!

I didn't like the first episode, but the second one definitely amped things up. I think the premise of the show has a lot of potential-- even if there is a mix of elements with Gundam, Geass and Super Robot-type shows. I hope that the love triangle between
Haruto, Shoko, and Saki
don't get in the way.

I like it too that there's a protag that I don't hate completely in the first few episodes (looking at you, SEED's Kira, Destiny's Shinn, and Linebarrels' Kouichi). I just hope he doesn't go down that whole killing is bad, what have I done/ PTSD/ depression route. Still too early to get a handle on Haurto though. I usually give it the first 10 episodes to figure them out.

As for people complaining about Haruto doing amazing things in Valvrave unit 1, I just like to think of things like fighting game button mashing.

And man...
A robot that fights with scythes and swords and has a 666 limit break harakiri super-mode
?! fuuuuuck, I'll take it! Hope the show stays on track though...

Haruto isn't a monster here. The real monster is
Shouko and her plot armor. No fucking way anybody can survive a blast like that

Episode 2 – Beyond 666
tumblr_mlimd9XOTt1qcsesho1_500.gif

Fun episode and emotional too, well on both parts of the lead characters. I wonder how L-elf will fit into things here assuming the whole thing is only going one way:
If Haruto bites him and then they body swap but he cant tell that he is in Haruto, and Haruto is fully conscious through the whole ordeal. Though that thing with the cellular level, surely L-elf could be conscious during it and have possession over Haruto's body. Additionally, I wonder if he could also pilot Valvrave. But regardless, since he is a traitor to his own Dorssian people would he stay with the remnants of those with JIOR/the academy folks? I would like for him to stick around with Haruto and they continue to make the best of their relationship with the body swapping and using it to whatever purposes they imagine.

Valvrave is one epic unit and beyond 666 with new possibilities is phenomenal, the creator of it, in universe, must be praised for his 100 -> 666 scale thing and all the bells and whistles with it.
Hatakiri ftw

Ah and Q-vier and his VA, Kaji Yuki, must be praised, after Haruto and L-elfs amazing performance, he easily is winning in regards to being wholly memorable, fun and comedic. But why he get one of the ugliest looking units. The other ones in the crew need good ones, maybe megane, X-eins got a good one.

Episode 2 definately delivered. The geass levels kept on going up with
shoko plot armor
and
beyond 666 shining finger harikari sword
. I'm liking the new potential waifu, she rocks the zettai ryouki and isn't afraid of anything and seems actually useful. Her idea to
tie up lelf while haruto did the body swap was good thinking
. I can't wait to see whare this show is going.

Finally watched the first two episodes.

The show escalated into batshit insanity and ridiculous-ness rather fast. Super cliche characters and predictability, but I'm not hating it so far so that's a good thing I guess.

That mecha in motion is pretty awesome though.

Valvrave 03

Not a lot of action in this episode... which I suppose is okay since the animation quality definitely took a hit from the previous two episodes. I'm interested to see what comes of Haruto and his... condition... it's touched on briefly in this episode as well but there's still a lot of underlying mystery.

I was actually disappointed when the episode ended... but I suppose that might be a good thing because I just want to see more.

Episode 3
This episode is waaay too over the top for me. Animation also took a nosedive. This is so bad.

L-Elf is being a one man army slaughtering over 200 guys is soooooo wtf oh wow. Suzaku ain't got shit on him.

Microsoft won the war.

Valvrave 03

This is the fastest a show has jumped the shark for me. I'm kinda impressed. L-Elf's stunts were too ridiculous even for this type of schlocky show. It's like they took the most defining aspects of Kira, Suzaku, and Lelouch, ratcheted them to 11, and made L-ELF out of them.

episode 3

You know I thought this was going to be two sides with grey morality, but it seems like L-Elf and the Dorsians are cemented as villain fuckhats. If we're meant to totally sympathize with them after all this, well then....

You know what? I actually liked this episode for its craziness. It was way better than episode 2 if you ask me.

Got a "Hahaha OH WOW" moment at the very last scene. Like, how would that work and why would he help him? But I know deep inside that they'll manage "somehow" and if they go stupid enough I might just like this in the end.

Where'd you get that idea from? I think it was obvious from the start one side was going to be antagonistic.
