This show is so horrible I can't express my disappointment in only words. But I will try, dear god, will I try.
First, let's get this out of the way. The animation is extremely nice, the light shows are interesting and personally, I dig the MAIN robot design. Not sure about the aesthetics or practicality of Dorssia's other than the directors wanting them to be 'different'. Fucking A, newly produced, right.
The story while simple has absolutely no credence. None. Don't tell me it does. He goes on to become enraged, from a coward to a murderer in a matter of seconds because the girl he loved had been killed. Does this sound normal? Perhaps. Most people would be angry. But does it end there? No, of course not, he immediately enters a strangely positioned MECHA (does this sound familiar?) and just so happens to pilot it.
I won't be a hypocrite, so I'll even let that go. I mean, he's a kind soul who turned into a murderer in a matter of seconds negating ANY characterization the little bastard may have had, however it's okay. We can move on right?
No, fuck we can't. I'm going to be a hypocrite, this sucks. The plot sucks, the execution sucks, the character design sucks. I would like if the writing compelled me to stay however it doesn't. It makes me cringe. I cringe when I see a line of dialogue. Who wrote this show!?
And why, for the love of all that is Mecha holy, didn't the trained, mother fucking soldier, just pump that asshole full of lead in space. Yes, he's alive now when you're sure you killed him. We get that. It's not a soldier's place to think, just think and shoot. He's an asshole, we can all admit it. He's a monster not because he ruthlessly shot countless people dead, but because he somehow became a vampire!? Okay, he should go fuck himself.
I'm done. Hopefully Gargantia scratches my Mecha itch, but sadly the trope ofhypocrisy won't persist."We were about to get raped to death, but Killing humans is bad!"
I don't know man. I think this part put me off this show more than anything Valvrave has done.I'm done. Hopefully Gargantia scratches my Mecha itch, but sadly the trope ofhypocrisy won't persist."We were about to get raped to death, but Killing humans is bad!"

This show is pretty great.
Why do people think it has bad dialogue?
Episode 3
I just love that name. L-Elf. ERU ERUFU! ERU ERUFU! ERU ERUFU! ERU ERUFU! ERU ERUFU! ERU ERUFU! ERU ERUFU! ERU ERUFU! ERU ERUFU! ERU ERUFU! ERU ERUFU! Loooooooool. L-ELF! ERU ERUFU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOLOLOL.
I'm dying of laughter here. Help. LOL!
Can somebody please suggest good drinking game rules for this, it sounds perfect.

Optional challenge:
- Take a shot for every 3 kills in an episode
Do a finger of the alcoholic beverage of your choice anytime something stupid happens or anytime a character says something that's stupid.*
*Please don't do this. You'll end up in hospital.
Someone says ERU ERUFU = take 1 shot
Someone says ERU ERUFU dramatically = take 2 shots
Haruto tries to bite someone = take 3 shots
Haruto actually bites someone = finish the bottle

You realize that, at the very least, 200 people died in this episode?
I know you probably mean onscreen deaths, but even that seems hard.
Because it's woeful. It ranges for exposition, to nonsense, to cliches, to being complete bland. I mean, most anime has bad dialogue but they're really pushing to a new level with this series.
Caught up to it. The postcredits sequence of the first episode was so mind-blowingly stupid I had to keep watching.
And I don't regret it. Sure, it's dumb and predictable and everyone aside from ERU ERUFU is pretty boring but... god damn ERU ERUFU man! Still, the main character should at least be something more in this day and age. So bland.
Also, did one of the characters have Lelouch's VA?
I kind of dig the Valvrave design as well. Might even want a kit of that if it's at least a bit better than the HG Gundam kits.
Lelouch is the guy who gets shot in the eye. Lol.
But me and my friends talk like this all the time.![]()
Do you perchance have access to giant robots?
Is romance banned in Japan or something? Why is it that in every anime romance is always hinted at but never actually engaged in? That scene in episode 2 between Shoko and Haruto would have been ok, if it hadn't been cut and paste from literally EVERY OTHER ANIME EVER.
I mean a trope is one thing but this is getting ridiculous. I'd like to see one anime where you know, a relationship actually occurs. I'd say this happens in Korra and Avatar but those are western...

There's another anime this very season called Flower of Evil/Aku no Hana. Check that out.
That's certainly a very different take on romance but perhaps not necessarily in the way he'd like. It's pretty fucked up.
Dumb dumb dumb dumb DUMB ♪
At least the robot is sexy.
Episode 04
This episode had a bit more action to it, which was welcome... in addition to another revelation about Valvrave. The student's decision at the end was really dumb though... Code Geass R2 all over again.
Well, students aren't supposed to be too smart and the show is already enjoying itself by being dumb from top to bottom, so I'm not surprised.
The again, the current situation reminds me more of Infinite Ryvius than of anything from that show, at least in terms of the concept.
Plus I still like the scenes with the robots too, thus I'll continue to watch this crazy ride.
Never saw Infinite Ryvius... wanted to years ago but it never happened.
It's boring and not funny at all.
Episode 4
Wow, this show continues to surprise me at every turn. It's impressive how they can pull more shit out of their ass each week to do things people probably won't see coming. It's really entertaining though. This really is the true successor to Code Geass. Guilty Crown was a filthy imposer that fell flat on its face.
I honestly can't wait to see where it goes, and I'm glad director Kou Matsuo is bringing his love for RANDOM SINGING into the show. I knew he wouldn't let me down! Next week we're going to get even more it seems! Sweet! <3
