maybe if you didn't use adblock then they wouldn't need to bake ads in
yup. watch youtube all the time on my TV/phone which show ads. doesn't really bother meHave you tried watching you-tube without ad blocker recently?
Top 10 lists with a clickbait title, an unrelated thumbnail and a ton of misinformation in the actual video.
And these usually get millions of views.
No they don't DESERVE it.I mean...he's right? Content creators deserve to get revenue.
Ones that make worthwhile content absolutely do.No they don't DESERVE it.
It's up to the viewer to decide what's worthwhile. You can't just say 'everyone who makes videos deserves to get paid'.Ones that make worthwhile content absolutely do.
Agreed. As you said, it's relative to the viewer though. I'm much more willing to chip in to people who make effort and such vs. some kid who is smashing a PS5 for the likes. It's up to the viewer to decide what's worthwhile. You can't just say 'everyone who makes videos deserves to get paid'.
Well I pay YouTube to avoid ads so I won't watch any ads.Agreed. As you said, it's relative to the viewer though. I'm much more willing to chip in to people who make effort and such vs. some kid who is smashing a PS5 for the likes.
That's how they make money. Nothing in life is freeBaking ads in to their videos. I have Adblock on for a reason you cunts.
Including the internet connection to watch the video? That's how they make money. Nothing in life is free
DuhIncluding the internet connection to watch the video?
I find the repair videos interesting because if they do manage to fix it, it gives me a good idea on how its done from an everyman perspective. Also helps to know what can go wrong if you mess up during a repair. Also I want to talk about video topics that just make me wonder 'who finds this entertaining':
- I bought a broken <insert electronic device here>, can I fix it
- I ordered <games> from Gamestop, here's what they sent me
Repair videos are fine but the 'I bought this broken device on purpose on ebay, can I fix it' premise annoys me.I find the repair videos interesting because if they do manage to fix it, it gives me a good idea on how its done from an everyman perspective. How hard is for youtube to enforce a spoiler check for the video upload and ban people if they post blatant spoilers anyway.
Yeah, I can see your point. They literally just do it for views. Though if I saw something like an expensive or rare item that I had a chance at fixing for a reasonable price I'd probably do the same.Repair videos are fine but the 'I bought this broken device on purpose on ebay, can I fix it' premise annoys me.
I mean like that:That would be pretty fucking hard actually mate.
I am sorry but these thing are needed for them to encourage people to like or subscribe. There are people out there depending on these things. For me:
- Like and Subscribe begging every video
- Long intros, no one wants to see a long intro every video.
- Showing Twitter (or other) posts asking for the video you are about to watch. Most people just don't care where your topic ideas come from.
- Wasting time telling people what everyone already knows (ex, we don't need a Breath of the Wild explanation/review before you get to the video topic which is something specific about Breath of the Wild).
How about you, what are your YouTube Creator annoyances?

Something I just thought of because I saw him in my recommended, and wow this is going to be a VERY unpopular take I imagine.
But I really dislike Youtubers who hide behind '' it's just a joke bro '' to avoid criticism or having to defend their position.
And I feel like Dunkey does this a lot, I think that he's very sneaky about how he selectively hides behind his often ambiguous persona to avoid people criticizing his takes that are more serious, the TLOU2 thing comes to mind but he does this quite a lot honestly.
He sometimes wants to try and make actual points and make claims and it's very easy for him to do it unchallenged and to just outright dismiss other peoples views and opinions on things and then hide behind his persona when challenged on it and his fanboys will just go '' lolo it's dunkey bro just a joke don't b so srs ''
Like if you're some big Youtube channel ( especially political ones ) and you preach your views and opinions like they're the gospel and then aggressively dismiss opposing views and send your followers after people for disagreeing with you then how are you any different than some insane cult leader?
If you're that insecure about it then don't engage with it to begin with?
And also the repetitive references and memes, Dunkey is an example of that too I dunno how people can repeat the same in-jokes for years on end and still think that they're funny.
I get having catchphrases but damn.
