What the hell did they do to Lara Croft?

Yep, Catalyst was pure CGI and still looked worse than in game footage from Atlantis, lol. CD game will probably be full of propagand, I hope I'm wrong because it's one of my favorite series...

But at least we get proper TR game next year!
And this is how Remakes happen.
God forbid Catalyst turns into what you said, imagine if Atlantis outsells it.
Maybe they'll end up ordering a TR2 Remake too.
Not gonna happen because CD will kick up a fuss, but I think CD is on uneven ground at the moment or will be if Catalyst doesn't return to form.

When i played those original games back in 1996, i always felt like lara was about 35-40 years old, so those new characters is spot on to me, even thought the lore says that lara was 28 in first game, but its pertty close.

Kinda has a Catherine Zeta Jones thing going on.

Would be funny if it was deliberate to make her have a more Latina look. She was supposed to be 'Laura Cruz' and Latina at the beginning anyway.

But I think they probably just have a new face model, and tanned her because it's more realistic to have a tanned adventurer who goes sprelunking in shorts and a tank top.

Her remake face looks fantastic. I wish they carried it to catalyst, but the one in the latter still looks good compared to what we have been subjected to the past few years.

I don't really understand why they make her look so different. The 2027 game should have the same face and body as 2026 game but maybe a bit older, if they so badly want a more older Lara. Odd.

What's up with some of the take in tis thread? I think she looks absolutely stunning in the remake.

Ok in the CGI trailer for Catalyst it's a bit rough (not terrible tho), but I'm sure it's just a rendering issue and the final in-game model will be fine. If it was 'The Agenda' the remake would've been terrible too. By the way she is indeed older in Catalyst, since the story takes place after the events of TR: Underworld.

While I technically agree with your take about Tomb Raider, I don't agree with it about Uncharted.

Call me old fashioned but I think it's okay for a series to just...end 🤷‍♂️

I think sometimes companies like Nintendo make us forget this.
I think both approaches are valid, it depends on what the company wants to achieve. Nintendo is perfect example of harvesting fruits from keeping iconic characters timeless for many generations, its simply good business.

This thread is mental.

Pixels in a screen ffs!
Gooners have ruined gaming.

Lara looks fine in the new games. Keep in mind, I'm going solely off the pictures in this thread - haven't seen any videos of the games yet. I thought she was fine in the mid 2010s games too. For the record, I only played the very first TR and the mid 2010s reboots. Even back then though, I thought it was a bit silly when they were treating a video game character as if she was a flesh and blood celebrity/star. Same with Rayne from the BloodRayne series (but I think Rayne destroys Lara in the looks department).

From what I've read online, a 10 is a 7 to me. It's relative and subjective to each individual male, If you put an entire women identity on a checklist, then, basically you know nothing about them and you've just reduced them to a Dragon Ball power hierarchy system cause it's pointless and serve no purpose.

Ratings are stupid for multiple reasons, but mainly because people laser focus on one defining feature, and rate the person on that, while seemingly ignore everything else.

For those who don't understand the scale of untapped market that exists here, look up what the world's most successful phone game by revenue is right now

It's called "Love and Deepspace" and you've never heard of it but the moment it launched it went straight to #1 phone game worldwide and has not budged since

Now that you know it exists, check what it is and who the target audience is. Yup.

No, I dont want a pornstar. I want Lara Croft to look like Lara Croft and not a random indian chick with menopause. She looks great in Atlantis, but terrible in Catalyst
Okay I'm quoting you again but for good reason, after looking at them properly, they are both the same.
the only difference is the eyes and eyebrows and actually less realistic details in the Catalyst model.
Catalyst though is CG, likely outsourced out to a 3rd party CGI creator for a Trailer and they seriously came up short on what was achieved in UE5.
Both Trailers are 4K but Atlantis is way more detail and sharper in resolution compared to the CG Catalyst Trailer which is actually rather soft and muddy in comparison
Tomb Raider 2013 had better CG, but CD doesn't have access to Visual Works anymore and is relying on what's available, I think the in-game will be better and likely match Atlantis
On a funny note I asked Grok to make me a poster with the new Lara model and it spat out this 😂

Imagine getting paid for designing your ideal male. We know at capcom studio, it's not about Leon or Jill personally.

One is a remake for when she was in her 20's, the other is a continuation from last series and she's in her 40's-50's
