Does tru have ample stock of games? Online inventory showing none of the stores around me have anything in stock but I don't know if that's just the inventory system being screwed up because stores are not yet online in the west coast.
Mine had over 20 Marios and 10-15 zombius. I got there at 8 when they opened.

I got to my Best Buy in Fresno, CA around 10:30. There was already a line of about 30-40 people. They started handing out reserve tickets for people w/o preorders. They could only sell 20 deluxe units and ran out. Some people left. They said they had more deluxe units, but they couldn't sell them until their normal openning hours. Weird.

My preorder was from BestBuy.com, and they had trouble ringing me up. Guy tried several times before the manager told him that .com preorders were being held in the back and they had to do a special way of ringing those up. While I was waiting, the guys buying deluxe wiius #19 and #20 had trouble when the store ran out of deluxe models even though they had tickets; someone miscounted or something. They ended up taking a couple from the pile they weren't supposed to sell.

Also, as usual, they were selling geek squad coverage. It only really covered the gamepad. I thought it funny that they charged $10 extra for deluxe coverage when the only difference between gamepads is color.

Posted from Wii U. Love this browser.

Wow. Makes me feel better about canceling my in-store pick-up from Best Buy in Fresno. I probably wouldn't have been up late enough for the midnight launch. I'm actually here in my car in the parking lot at one of the Targets where I have a reservation card for. Seems as though there's a dozen other cars here waiting for the Target to open up in 45 mins.

Hrm.

Going to pick up my reserved system in an hour.

I wake up this morning and watch some Giant Bomb Quick looks. Very unimpressed with Nintendo Land and Mario Bros U.

Go to GAF see shit like the long loadtimes on the OS, the heavy moderation on the Mii-Verse, and the slower, more limited RAM even compared to the 360 and PS3.

I'm not sure I want to keep this thing anymore. I'm looking at the launch games and trying to decide if there is anything there that I would actually enjoy playing...

No one in this line wants Mario. Some minor excitement around ZombiU. People buying it for "gadget lust."

Standing around in front of a store. Seems like I'll get a deluxe?

Yeah, that's about how I'm feeling right now too.

Its not a portable device though your not ever going to be far from an outlet if ever its meant to be used in your home.

It has a big power adapter so not exactly discreet. And the deluxe comes with a charging cradle which would be difficult to play while docked.

1300mah is laughable though. Looks like you could get a 2500 in there easily enough

guess i'll join in on the fun too with the pictures :P

so happy :)

At Walmart to pick up our layaway order. But they already sold all the systems this morning. Meh. Just want to get our money back at this point.

Well, Blops 2 is looking mostly good.

We did find this (no dynamic shadows on WiiU) but it seems to be a splitscreen thing. At least that's the hope.

Yeah, I could only pre-order the basic set (have two of them coming), but I wanted the deluxe as well.

Since I'm moving to France soon, however, I might just wait and keep my basic US set and buy a Euro Deluxe set in order to have both a black and a white console. P

Is it true you can use the wii remote btw? If so, how does it work?

Is it confirmed that 3DS prepaid cards work on the Wii U's eShop? Canada always gets Nintendo's prepaid cards months after everywhere else so I won't be able to purchase from the Wii U's eShop for a while if the 3DS cards don't work.

are they serious it is that good? I wish they told me this earlier

Gamesradar said:
Armored Edition is a great way to finally appreciate the game along with a majority of its DLC. However, the Wii U port isn't preferable to Game of the Year versions you'll find on PS3 and 360. Armored Edition utilizes the GamePad better than some other AAA games being ported to the system, but that's still not enough to make this the definitive release, or one you should go out of your way to play.

Weird.

Is the Nintendo Network ID a new thing or will a Club Nintendo account work in the same way? Just want to make sure it all links to the same account.

Walked into Target 2 hours after they opened and my brother and I got the last 2. They're the 8 gig model but better than nothing I guess.

Do we have a consensus on the ports, yet?

I have Batman on PC, so that's a pass. I really wanted Ninja Gaiden to turn out good; but it doesn't seem like it is. Assassin's Creed 3... Is it just as glitchy and run just as poorly as the 360/PS3? And CODBLOPS2 I'm assuming that no matter what, will be inferior to PC or X360 because of either graphics, control method, or community.

So I guess just ZombiU and NSMB for me ...

Almost certainly yes. They're currency not points right?

I was able to walk into best buy and target and pick up a delux wii u at each place. I got to target about 30 minutes after opening and best buy ten minutes before opening. They seemed to have a good amount of supply.

I have an extra $20 3DS card, and I was hoping I could use it for NSMBU. If nobody confirms it first, I'll test it out whenever my update finishes downloading.

But if it's like the Wii & DSi points cards it should.

The IGN review seems to imply, that the Darksiders 2 port is just fine - but, they also did ignore Batmans hickey FPS that was obvious from the little time, they showed the WiiU version in the video review.

Preordered from Toys R Us the day after the orders were available, walked in at 9:20 and grabbed a deluxe edition. I thought the store was dead but the guys working said they sold out in fifteen minutes lol. About to hook everything up now!

It must be when its in splitscreen as ive just seen that part in a stream online play and the shadows were the same as 360 etc. There seems to be a look i cant put my finger on though from the stream.

This is exactly what happened to me. The dudes working the midnight launch I guess weren't familiar with the layaway stuff, so I had to go back and doublecheck this morning to get it.

I find this ridiculous, ridiculous that during launch day, tons of gamers are left in the mist, not knowing which game to buy.

If i worked in such gaming websites, this is the first thing i would have done. Without breaking any embargoes (if it's still relevant whereas the console is officially launched since yesterday 00h00), i would have seen the concerns of my fellow gamers concerning ports, especially after the criticisms on the Mass Effect 3 Wii U version, and found a way to inform them that for example, Blops 2 doesn't suffer from texture problems, slowdowns, or any other surprising technical problems, so it's a safe buy for those who considered purchasing it but don't get it on other platforms.

My mom works at Walmart and insisted she get me a deluxe wiiu as a gift with her 20% off discount. I'm very grateful and can't wait to get some games for it. I freed up my wiiu preorder at GameStop to get back my karma for my mom cutting the line outside as an employee. Profiteering on a Christmas gift with my preorder would just feel way too scummy. I hope my preorder went into the hands of an excited Nintendo fan.
