Such a different experience than the Wii launch. Instead of lining up all night at Target only to find out I'm number ~110 but the store only having ~100 units.. I had 2 pre-ordered at Walmart through layaway. This Walmart is open 6-midnight, but they weren't selling the night before, so I just arrived around 6:30am. No lines in electronics or the layaway. I just showed off my paid receipt and picked up 2 Wii U Deluxes in a box with my name. Apparently the only units that are left are for pre-orders. Having the flexibility of picking up any time means you can get sleep instead of rushing. Or maybe I missed out on all the excitement before 6am?

Walked into Toys r Us a little after 8 this morning for the B1G1 40% games. Turns out, they only got enough Deluxes to fill out their preorders, but they had 7 or 8 Basics left, which the folks coming in after me were happy to purchase. Thought about grabbing a Pro Controller too, but that'll have to wait, maybe Christmas.
Grabbed Mario and Scribblenauts, so I'm all set for when my gamestop order arrives tomorrow. I actually found myself missing the excitement of the campout this time, as my wife and I camped out in front of our local Target for the Wii launch all those years ago.
But then I remembered it was cold last night, and I'm happy i preordered again lol.

So I wake up right know to this email:

Unfortunately, we were unable to fulfill your order for the item listed below within the expected time and have attempted to cancel it in accordance with FTC regulations.
WHAT THE HELL!
Anyone else get an email like this? What Gives?!?! I've been on hold with TRU for about 10 min now, am I screwed, is it to late, was it cancelled really or not since the order page still shows processing. This sucks

The store opens at 7am, so I decided I'd just go an hour early. Got there, I was second in line. By the time the doors opened, there were 50~ people.
We all went in single file, orderly, except for one asshole who decided to run to the electronics area. We all boo'ed him and called him a line jumper. He stopped, turned around, left the store.
We line up at the register, and the first guy pays for his Deluxe. I'm second, and the manager comes out and says "Sorry everyone, we only have enough to fill preorders plus 6 non-preorders. We also don't have Mario yet." Some really dumb blonde bitch yells "Well then here's what you need to do. You need to hurry up and let us pay so us who preordered can leave." The manager just rolled his eyes.
I pay for mine (smugly) and I leave with my Wii U.

ONM UK gave it 88%, they said it pretty much plays exactly like the other consoles but has the added Nintendo costumes and party game mode with the mushrooms.

Bought my Wii U. Went to my roommates target cause he said they might get ezcess stock. I was third in line. They had 3 extra deluxe versions outside of preorders and one basic. 10 people left empty handed.
Go for Skyward. Not that it is the better of the two, just because it has all the sky/bird iconography.
Question for new Wii U owners. How do Wii games and VC games look through HDMI. Does it look any different than component?

Its not a portable device though your not ever going to be far from an outlet if ever its meant to be used in your home.

Despite me asking a million times my GameStop decided to open 1 hour early today without telling anyone. Good thing I showed up an hour early to get on line . There were 2 people ahead of me, which I think is pretty good considering that they didn't tell anyone they were opening early.
