In case anyone's interested, I was just at my local Best Buy to get a hard drive for my Wii U, and there was a guy there putting out inventory of Wii U accessories. He said they had around 10 Wii U's in addition to preorders. Note, this isn't a Best Buy with a midnight launch.

I hope this means that my pre-order is secure then. I dunno why but I'm kind of nervous they'll pull something stupid, though they seem to always have my pre-ordered games. But those are games. Games usually don't have the limit or demand that consoles do at launch.

Someone mentioned something about their best buy getting an additional 10, too. Sounds like they're actually going to hold pre-orders like they should and not be dumb. I am more at ease now. =D

I just called a Best Buy near me and they said there were already 40 people lined up. It's 8:30 here. I can't make it over there until 11-ish. I'm assuming my chances are slim.

From what I've been reading it totally depends on your area and how many Wii U's your stores are getting. Some stores get in lots of extras while I know someone was saying their stores got in 2 to 4 extra (deluxe).

Can I still pick it up at midnight, as I am not even sure if the layaway/preorder area will be open at midnight? That is the same section where you pick up online orders, which normal hours are 10am-10pm for Sunday.

You can only play VC games in Wii mode, so you have to do the full transfer.

I don't know if this is the right thread for this but when you tranfser data from Wii to Wii U how does it handle the Homebrew Channel? I know it most likely won't recognize my PAL saves. I just hope it doesn't set off some type of red flag or anything.
