This may have been answered at this point, but I'm not following the thread:

Do we know if the analog audio out from the Multi AV Out can be used together with the HDMI out?

Help me out. Two issues:

1. My damn Mii appears as a blue error icon on Miiverse. Anyone else having the same problem?

2. The GamePad's sticks seem to be breaking in. When I move the left stick off-center slowly, it makes this awfully annoying clicky sound. Again, anyone else?

Id be over the moon if the OS speed issues are fixed for us by the 30th.

Right now that's the difference for me. A 10 to 15 second wait to load apps is a system breaking flaw, personally. I can't in good faith hand over £300 for a system that's doing that.

I dunno. If Nintendo have officially acknowledged this is a problem and conform theyre patching it within the next 2 weeks then that's fine for me, even if it takes them a bit longer to implement it, but I do need that assurance from them. I don't have 100% trust in Nintendo to actually sort this.

with 1GB ram for the OS, you could probably have all OS apps open but just suspended in memory, and switch between them instantly. The slowness of the basic OS is the most confusing thing out of this launch so far

Anyone try that Nano Assault Neo game on the eShop?

Yeah, it's good stuff if you like dual stick shooters. Looks beautiful, runs great, and controls as you would expect.

That is a little weird. It isn't the analog click R3/L3 style clicks(does Wii U even have these)? I have no idea what it could be.

Nope. It's almost like a tapping sound, were you to tap the stylus against the GamePad. The circular edge also isn't very smooth if I do a few 360s with the stick.

Doubt this would fall into warrantee area.

Minor annoyance is that my Wii channel is somewhat underscanned on my TV (black border around it). I'll take the exchange for 1080p internal scaling, but has anyone found a size adjustment setting for the Wii channel?

So I take it's a downsampling of sorts then without too much compression, sounds nice.

I don't see any compression artifacts at all. It's really very impressive.

someone else said:
I have not been able to move my icons as smoothly as my 3DS menu moved a few but others I keep launching the app. Must be doing this click thing wrong.

You have to hold for for longer than you do on the 3DS before the icon becomes draggable. It felt kind of weird to me at first as well.

Traded in a few games today to work towards my Wii U pre-order. Pretty damn settled on both NSMBU and ZombiU for when the launch actually comes around here. One one hand I'm lamenting the lack of any other interesting titles at launch, but on the other I'm kinda glad I'm not stressing myself wanting to buy a whole bunch of shit. Definitely spreading my budget at this time of year.
What prices does JB generally offer for Wii games? And is there any benefit if I trade in directly towards a Wii U preorder?

OK, I have to admit, the browser on WiiU is really damn good. At least as good as any tablet that I've used.

The coolest feature, however, has to be the handling of video content. The HTML5 version of Youtube is brilliant on WiiU. You can find your video and it will begin playing on the main TV screen. It will also play on the gamepad but there is a button which hides the video and allows you to continue browsing the net on the gamepad while the video plays on the TV. You could pass the gamepad around the room allowing people to select videos while the current video keeps playing. Even HD videos seem to run just fine.

Definitely the coolest feature I've seen yet.

Question(sorry if it asked before),for the US unit is the power brick universal (110-240v) or just 110v ?
Unfortunately it's just 110v. :(

Looks like I'll have to buy a 220v separately. :\

can you scroll up/down with the analogue sticks? Don't mind stylus for tapping links, but I don't like the feel of it when scrolling pages (based on DS/3DS)

I'm not expecting the other 2 consoles launch to be any better, tbh.

And my only real complain is the awfully slow OS.

I agree 100% with your comment. Hopefully, they will release a patch to speed up the OS. It is slow but it doesn't take me out of using the device.

Miiverse was my most wanted thing and yet have not posted once on the thing.

Question why is Wara Wara Plaza only about my apps right now? I don't see any games on it.

so, someone correct me if I am wrong with my predictions.

USA LAUNCH = Loads of issues, consoles crashing, OS unstable, etc.

EU LAUNCH = A lot of the OS stability issues have been fixed with a new day one update.

JP LAUNCH = Flawless, of course. Cheers for beta testing, rest of the world!

R U calling US beta testers?

Spent the most time playing this since I had one Mii for all my NNIDs so by playing single player for a little bit it helped me see which NNID I was logged into when I got my scores on the leaderboards

I think I will play much more of it when things setter down a little bit. So far it is very impressive visuals

Checking in here..
I've gotten to play around with Mario for about 6 hours or so before bedtime tonight. It is a delicious game. The uPad is a joy to use, and I've had no issues with the system since getting the updates done. Mario's going to keep me happy for a while, and then it'll be time for ZombiU.. which should, at the very least, be quite interesting.

From a quick ten-minute glance at GAF's Gaming side threads - outside of this fine thread - it's like I've played a different system today. What a shocker. :)

Didn't get much playtime with the system today but I enjoyed it quite a bit. Towards the end of the night I wasn't experiencing the Miiverse lag and besides some lag switching between menus the OS isn't nearly as bad to use as some are making it out to be. Look forward to getting some more playtime with the system tonight.

I'm wondering if they shutdown some Wara Wara plaza features right now so that the system apps and default Nintendo messages are all we see for a while. Might be a server load thing too.

Yes.
In addition:
L/B - back
R - forward
X - toggle curtain
Y - show bookmarks
+/- - zoom
ZL/ZR - switch between tabs
D-pad - select page components
Left analogue click - show/hide toolbar

That's all very well ...but you know everyone just wants to know if the streaming porn sites work.

I had set up my time wrong thinking it was a 24hr clock like the 3DS so when I got home around 10am yesterday setting up the time I did not notice the little pm. This morning when I woke up pressing to Wii Mode I saw it was 7pm on the Wii menu clock

I had to set my clock back to 7am not sure how much activity I lost oh well

Didn't try. I thought it felt very responsive when scrolling with both the stylus and finger.

I was hugely skeptical of Nintendo using a resistive touchscreen with the WiiU pad, but the responsiveness and quality of the screen far FAR exceeds DS and 3DS. The difference is dramatic. That said, text is small enough on the screen that you'll want to use the stylus for selection.

I forget what's the resolution of the game pad?
As someone noted, it's 854x480...and it looks great. Seriously, I'm surprised by the quality. In fact, I kind of think Sony should have used a slightly lower screen resolution for Vita in the face of all those sub-native games.

Wait, are people finding the console lag is much less today? Are we talking about those 10-15 second waits for Miiverse and apps here?

Ok, so after a smooth setup yesterday, suddenly today I can't start up any games. The games started up fine after the initial update, but are now stuck on the logo screen.

Does it actually take 10 minutes to start or am I screwed? Any else have these issues?

I read about people not being able to launch games, when it worked just fine yesterday.

You might be fucked :/

That sounds screwy. I'm going to assume you restarted your Wii U?

The first time I put in NintendoLand I did get an Invalid Disc error even though it showed the games logo.

I found Miiverse to be fairly snappy last night There are some OS issues still with loading apps. Loading up Settings takes around 10 seconds for me which is pretty crazy. Chalk Miiverse up to Launch day problems. Not entirely unexpected.

Yeah, had to pull the plug. I also can not get to the system setting. I can access Miiverse, the eshop, friend list, and the browser. Haven't tried any other apps yet.

Hmm. Can you delete the install data for the game updates you got yesterday? I doubt it since I think that's accessed through system settings.

If there's one thing you could always rely on it would be Nintendo quality at launch, it's disappointing to hear the problems people are having, they are usually pretty consistent.
