Rich, I realise you're awesome, but where did you find zombiU for £35? I've preordered from shopto reluctantly at £47. Normally I'd tell them to fuck off, but I want it for release day.

They sent me an email yesterday telling me to hurry up and choose some wiiU games because its coming soon. They're supposed to be processing orders tomorrow so probably be posted out Monday (fingers crossed).

My girlfriend works at Blockbuster, so she gets 15% off retail games and 20% off accessories. So a £39.99 game comes to £32. So I was actually a bit off with my prices, and I have indeed got Sonic racing preordered for £30 not £35! Alll good!

I think Zombi U is a bit more anyway, as we reserved Mario when it was £39.99 on the system. Either way, its no more than £35 or so for us!

Just paid my Wii U Zombi U bundle off from Shopto :) excited! Got Sonic coming from Amazon then I'm going to use shopto points for Mario and grab Nintendoland on ebay probably. Would like AC3 OR NFL 13 too, decisions!
 
I wonder if Nintendo will skip the HD Collections and just release HD versions of Gamecube games on the VC. I'm surprised they haven't jumped on the HD collection money making train yet.

The system just came out, and there were those New Play Control versions of GC games for Wii, so HD rereleases seem inevitable. Hopefully that will include rereleases of Fatal Frame 4 and the Fatal Frame 2 remake, with built in support for the gamepad.

However, next Thursday I'm just going to go to Tesco at midnight and buy one there. When my Amazon order arrives (probably Saturday!), I'll take that Wii U back to Tesco for a refund.

That way I get the cheap £200 amazon price I ordered it at whilst still getting it at midnight!

All the games are playable Also Wii u pro pad?

Or At least the second player on Mario for wiiu can use the pro pad or i need to use wiimote ?

Not all the games support the pro controller. Up to developers
and about Mario, the only way to play multiplayer is using Wiimotes (both of you)
 
Hahahaha. Just phoned up my nearest Tesco superstore to ask if they'll be able to sell the Wii U at midnight next Friday.

No one had a fucking clue what the Wii U is. The girl on the electrical desk kept insisting they had the new Wii already (the blue Mario olympics one). She asked for her managers help, and he said "No, there isn't a new Wii, Nintendo aren't doing another. He must mean the blue one".

What the fuck! And he was the head of the electrical and gaming department! Unbelievable.

I then phoned up ASDA. Talked to a girl on electrical. She said "Yep, we will have both the Basic and the Deluxe, but its best to call on the day before." she also knew they were able to sell at midnight.

Fuck Tesco.

They were Tesco staff, you were damn lucky they'd even had the training to pick up and use a phone. XD
 
HAHA. I remember phoning Sainsbury's about changing my order and the guy on the phone asked me if it was a new handheld, but he was just customer services so I don't expect him to be in the know.

But more of GAF could learn a thing or two from Tesco. No matter how slow the CPU is, every little helps.

Just reserved my reserve. I preordered via amazon month ago, but I don't know if they'll get enough and if DHL is fast enough to deliver on Friday.
So now I deposited 100 EUR at Saturn. They said they expect 12 and I was the 10th to preorder the Premium bundle.
Now I wait and see both plans not working out ;)
 
Ugh, it's getting harder and harder to hold off on purchasing the Wii U....Outside of ZombiU and NSMB U, what launch games should I look into getting? Also, any word on when the virtual console app will hit?

A lot of GAFers seem to be into Nano Assault, a downloadable title with gorgeous visuals for only $10.

Also apparently Black Ops 2 is a very respectable port, outside of a few slowdowns in single player. It has dual screen multiplayer (one uses gamepad, the other TV) both locally and online. Plus, Wiimote support.

No word on when VC hits.

Thank you for the response! Do you think we will be able to play VC games on the gamepad or will it be tv only?
 
Holy shit this youtube app is crap. I can only watch the most popular videos? Video quality is nice and all but shit this needs to be fixed.

Somehow, I don't feel like Nintendo is the type of company to do HD collections. I would like to be wrong though, I would rebuy Xenoblade a third time for an HD version, same with Metroid and Zelda.

I'm getting really nervous due to these stories of people getting broken Wii Us. It'll be a huge pain in the ass and cost a stupid amount of money if I have to return mine when it comes :/

I have no choice really. Consoles don't get officially released here, and it will likely be years by the time they show up in a store.

And even then, it'll still be cheaper to import.
 
guys how voting on the eShop works?
do you have to use an app/game for a certain amount of time before you can actually vote?
