But I want to play it on a normal controllerAnd im sure im not alone.
So what's the general consensus on that City demo rendered or not and why?
You wanna start something, don't you?
It's just video, mang.
Seriously though i want to know what people think about it.
Link's Awakening HD, with item switching via the tablet.
Kind of random, but will games by Monolithsoft on Wii U look like/be on the level of Final Fantasy 13 or would that cost too much money and time?

SS controls > All previous 3D Zeldas combined.
They could easily do it I imagine as Zelda isn't really a CPU heavy game wrt AI and world simulation. If Nintendo could have those visual at that framerate while running actual game code, that would be a killer app.
I absolutely adored navi.royalan said:Probably a minority opinion but...watching this demo makes me really want to see the return of a Navi-like fairy companion. Yeah, Navi was a little annoying but, as we've recently seen, it could always be worse...
And a fairy just makes sense. You've got a young elven boy journeying in a strange and dangerous land with only his fairy for companionship. It just fits.
Yup, agreed. A couple of tweaks and tightening and it would be perfect.SS controls > All previous 3D Zeldas combined.
Already confirmed by Aonuma. If the next Zelds uses the Wiimote I'll be heartbroken. HEARTBROKEN.

Like I already said in one of the SS topics, they have a dilema here.
Two screens/tablet was good with Zelda Four Swords Adventures. But SS motion controls are great too.
What to do on Wii U?
I secretly hope they will find a way to combine the two with ease. Maybe SS control sheme for action parts with sword battles, and tablet play for puzzles, and items. Maybe the tablet can be the main new item/gimmick of the future game, like something between the ocarina and the Tingle GBA (don't know the exact name in the US version of The Wind Waker).

"confirmed" is kind of a loose term this far out.
I still don't understand how you can sell a new console based (at this point) entirely around this new controller and then have one of your biggest games just ignore it.
Not the most eloquent of propositions. I'm one of the few people on GAF totally sold on a tablet as a controller, which is why I'm pretty dead set on it being the sole interface for Zelda U.
We saw this:

Who knows just what we get get, but if history repeats, it will look better than what we saw.
Already confirmed by Aonuma.
He's just trying to trick people in to thinking SS has great controls by pretending they're gonna use them for life ^_^
Yeah, framerate aside that was really impressive. I'm still trying to figure out how they rendered it without any hint of the car the camera had to have been mounted to.
What would you know about controlling things? You're just a floating head.
Just like all the other Zelda tech demos.
But mature?
How would we even qualify that?
Link is holding the sword in his right hand.
Wiimote confirmed.
Of course not him but he has friends that could lend him a hand. I'm sure your friends could as well if they weren't all dead.
If the next Zelds uses the Wiimote I'll be heartbroken. HEARTBROKEN.
The more I read from you on Zelda, the more I realise I *want* your heart to be broken. Sorry.
I hope its never mature, and I hope more than anything it never has a script as bad as some of Kojimas.
Wish granted?
Controller screen in Zelda Wii U will probably just be item management (which would be a conservative but fricking awesome use of it.)

Wiimote confirmed.
Has this been posted on GAF already?
From the L.A car show, real life Mario Karts made by West Coast Customs:

I'd buy a Wii U if the exclusive Nintendo games had graphics at that gif's level or better. I also want the next Mario to be like Mario 64 with big hub levels.
It also looks as good as it does because of the animation. The great thing about that Zelda tech demo isn't the 'yay, Link in HD! Woo!' factor, it's that it looks good no matter what you compare it too. I don't feel weird saying that looks almost Uncharted 3 good, if not better (although it's dealing with a lot less assets, naturally, but still).
I'd say we'll get equally as good (or even better) looking games even at the start of the Wii U.The HD demo looks great, but we're going to be getting better looking games by the end of the Wii-u's life cycle for sure
Clean TV is one thing I am definitely looking forward to. I mean sure there are things that you'd still want to have on the screen, but damn I wish games had a 'hold button to show HUD'.If WiiU allows me to play Skyrim or Battlefield 3 using inventory controls on the controller and nothing as far as a UI on the screen, I am in.
Reggie a puppet he don't know anything I bet if they did told him the secs he still wouldn't know he a PR guy for USA
when they ask him what are you doing this year they should just ask what have they told you so far?
Reggie did said that: "The best looking games will be on the Nintendo platform." in one of the CES interviews.
Either he's confident, either it's pure PR or he knows.
Okay, first, put some comma in there. Second, he's the President of Nintendo of America, damn it. It's 100% sure they have the Wii U at Redmond, working on translating the OS, the games and whatnot.
