I don't know what's going on in this thread anymore. (Seriously though) Specs definitely matter, but they matter in a multitude of different ways and not only pertaining to performance. Somewhat like was said earlier, multi-core support at it's outset on phones was a misnomer. Android barely utilized the second-core IIRC from the white papers I looked at 6 months post release, but Android has steadily grown to utilize them much more. The OS is pretty darn smooth and has been for a while now--though the actual transitions, animations, and typography I still find WP much better (though I'm biased and this is all opinion anyway). The only issue I've honed in on with Android is the security of their devices--not that Google, I don't think, can really do much about it. They're very hands-off due to the open-source nature of the code-base, and I worry about future large-scale attacks on very vulnerable software that doesn't necessarily come from Google.
That being said, I work in security and tend to place a higher eye on those sorts of attacks. Not that I'm a big proponent of those 'ANDROID HAS MALWARE, ENJOY THE HAX' that some say. Though some of the studies seem to indicate that it is more of a problem than previously assumed.
For the people that gave me their emails, check it out. I'm planning on pushing an update tonight--since I finished it up this morning at about 4:30 a.m. and there were some typos and some debug dev targets at the bottom (purple links.....). Also, the older version's screenshots will be removed and updated with better screenshots of the actual version.
I wiped my device to make sure that the final version I was going to submit was working through my major scenarios--but forgot that the store needs screenshots. Those pictures of falling water are me pointing the camera at a picture on my laptop.
