I'm sure he made a bit of money off it too (he certainly did from me and I'm sure I'm not the only one that paid for the add free stuff and even the unlimited video uploads despite never ever using videos) and it's not like people can't still choose to use his app if they want. It's very likely going to be better than the official app.

Excited about the imaging stuff. RAW is great news.

AT&T has announced that it will be the exclusive carrier for Nokia's 6-inch Lumia 1520 smartphone in the US, following similar deals for phones such as the 900, 920, and 1020. The company will also offer the Lumia 2520 Windows RT tablet, which is being sold with LTE capability built in.

There's no word on pricing, color options, or a release date for either Lumia product, but AT&T says the tablet is arriving "just in time for the holiday season," and the phone is listed as "coming soon." Verizon is rumored to be planning a variant of the 1520 known as the Lumia 929 for release this year.

The tablet looks great.

I still prefer the surface because of the touchpad and the magnesium body, but it's bloody close. Really there's nothing in it, if I hadn't already ordered the S2, I might be going for the Lumia.

It's lighter, it's thinner, it's colourful, the screen looks really great, it has 4G built in - it puts all Microsoft OEM's to shame. It's what an ARM tablet should be like. If only it sold as well as it looks.

The 1520 I was not expecting to like....but I do. The camera impressions will be critical, but this will very likely be the second best smartphone camera on the market.

Verizon devices get announced by Verizon. They don't usually announce a carrier variant on a world stage.

It'll be interesting to see how far the Nokia name and Lumia brand can push the 2520 in non-US markets. I do agree that maybe they should have offered a $399 WiFi model or something. I wonder if it comes with the keyboard?

I agree it is confusing. Probably will make more sense if you separate them into types of phone (phablet, niche/photo, standard) and then go numerical from there.
