I'll be impressed if Suicide Squad manages to match or pass GotG but I'm going to be utterly shocked if Wonder Woman does significantly better than Thor ($445M). I think it'll be tough to squash the association between Justice League and BvS because Snyder films are always visually so distinctly his style.

If by spearheaded you mean not be in denial that it saw a significant decrease and under performed domestically then yes. Also please look up my posts where you/some fanatic twist that into me calling it a bomb .. le sigh absolutes again.
They haven't really pushed BvS connections in the trailers so far.

I just don't see any of that film's potential goodwill carrying over into a functionally unconnected, Snyder-directed follow-up to BvS though.
Considering the critical reception, shit legs, and general shadow it casts over WB's franchise efforts, I don't think smashflop does it dawn of justice(tm).

I don't think Batman is viewed as a negative in and of himself, regardless of BvS' reception. As long as he isn't asking Deadshot if he bleeds, it should be fine.

So I am bored and since I am not a huge fan of smashflop I looked up some alternative words from the thesaurus.
For "disappointment" I liked the word "blunder"
For "flop" I liked the word "dud".
The word "fiasco" intersected both.
But after all that, smashflop is probably best for something that makes money but doesn't meet expectations.

Yeh. I love that shit tho. The designs are 80% of the hype for me. If they went traditional I'd still be excited but not that much. This looks unique amongst all the other comic movies coming out.
Joker gonna swag on them all.
Critics are going to HATE this movie though. Even if it does turn out good i can still see this try hard punk look grating some of them and effecting their opinions. It's a hard sell.

Some of the designs aren't that far removed from what has been in DC comics before. Harley has tattoos and Will Smith likes to have hit mug visible, but both of them and Katana are relatively close.
Also, I don't think anyone was clamoring for an authentic comic book Captain Boomerang costume to appear on film (though homeless guy Cap Boomerang is odd in his own way).

Not if it manages to prioritize having a fun time at the theater over serious melodrama. It can do that any number of ways including dark humor which is what I'm hoping for.

This one went full crust punk tho with her. And then you have Joker, making changes into swag rapper which is now sacrilegious to fans who only want the guy sticking to one era of gangster for his style. Its jarring for a lot of people.
