Imagine it with lions!!Yes, the one play with Patrick Stewart
I think the overseas take of Oz firmly puts it in the disappointment territory.
I never watched Mulan but a live action Mulan sounds awesome.Mulan is happening too.
Disney probably expected more overseas, but close to $500M with 48% of that domestic is still pretty good. Oz's major problem was that it was too expensive.
Oh man. That'd be epic in scope. Could they whitewash that?
Now that I think about it an Indian kid is the main in Jungle Book.
Would Disney want that level of controversy on their hands if they whitewash Mulan?
Would Disney want that level of controversy on their hands if they whitewash Mulan?
And there are plenty more :/
I rewatched the cartoon not long ago on Netflix and it is already darker than I remembered it being.Hunchback is too dark for Disney to make a live action version of, especially if they follow the stage musical they did two years ago.
Hey man I'm just saying. Why on earth would they whitewash Mulan
Unrelated to this stuff, I'm starting to get really tired of that whole whitewashing conversation in films. Where were ya'll when 21 did it

Not sure what I'm saying, but it's something.
Mulan would totally be China bait if the live action adaptation ends up going forward. They won't white-wash it.
It seems people care more about fictional characters than real people. Why on earth would they whitewash Mulan

Didn't really stop Jungle Book
Lion King would actually be in a weird spot where they could just flat out get the vast majority of the old cast back.
Emma Watson + actual musical numbers = COUNT ME IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Might have to give this a watch.EDIT: It would seem that ya'll haven't seen this:
Not Disney, but a fantastic movie.
Think he may be a bit optimistic since next week is basically the last time it'll make any substantial money overseas.
Now add:I rewatched the cartoon not long ago on Netflix and it is already darker than I remembered it being.
Oh man, just removing the gargoyles from the cartoon would practically make it a tough watch for kids. I'm surprised they even tried to adapt the story for a cartoon. Now add:
Frollo as archdeacon
Quasimodo killing Frollo
Esmeralda and Quasimodo dying
Remove the gargoyles' humour and have them be part of Quasi's imagination
And you have the stage musical! Ripe for a film adaptation
Edit: Bronson what happened to your eyes lol?
Kung Fu Panda is that movie realm of "well liked, but no one is clamoring for a sequel".
I hope they just remake Aladdin instead of go the prequel route. That would be one of the best films for them to make live-action next to Pinocchio and Peter Pan.Did a quick check and found out it was a prequel about the Genie. But it was shelved after Robin Williams' death and no one can use his image or voice, both used and un-used material, for 25 years after his death (which will be August 2039).

So they might either take a completely different route with it or just put it on hold. Or have someone new as Genie.
Because no one wants to see what a live-action Flounder would end up looking like. All this live action remake talk and nobody mentions the little mermaid?
give it to the same people that did PotC, get kathy bates as ursula
The only franchise left I enjoy from them are Madagascar and How To Train Your Dragon
Yep, it's really shocking they went with that story.Oh man, just removing the gargoyles from the cartoon would practically make it a tough watch for kids. I'm surprised they even tried to adapt the story for a cartoon.

Directed by Sofia Coppola, right? You're getting an off-brand "based on the book" version of the Little Mermaid by Universal in the next couple of years.
LOL! Indeed.Tilda Swinton for Mulan. I'd dig it.

They're more or less done with Madagascar, no?

I duno, I remember a fourth one being announced but I don't see it on Dreamworks schedule anymore, odd.
Every new entry outgrossed their predecessor so it'd be kinda odd if the put the franchise on the back-burner.
By uni? Boooo
i've yet to see any evidence that studios other than disney can competently handle live action fairy tales
