To kill someone over a photobomb... I don't believe it, there's gotta be more to it. No way in hell can this be true. If so, I really don't know how ppl in this world can get even more scummy than this.

That's what I'm thinking too. I mean, nothing justifies beating a person to death, but it was probably the ensuing argument that escalated things into a fight rather than just the ruined photo.

I did it once, I got beat up badly, but I never regret doing that. You can't just do nothing.

You're good people. I'd like to say I'd try and help but I'm not very big and would likely get messed up :(

This is just a terrible story all round. Poor girl

Sad. I've actually just recently picked up the subject of people taking photos in public and then getting upset when people walk in front as a ranting point after someone got pissy with me because they expected everyone to stand around with their groceries while they took 80 pictures in a store's entrance. The sheer arrogance and self entitlement people have to think the entire world should stop what they are doing because they decided to take a picture in a public place filled with other human beings is bizarre.

Hell, just looking at someone the wrong way can set them off. It's not about the photobomb, it's about the scumbag violent thugs who took an innocent life for no reason.

I can't help but think her friends indirectly got her involved in the scuffle. I can't imagine how an incidental photobomb can lead to death without someone being an asshole and escalating things. A simple "Sorry about that lol." should've squashed anything.

No telling what happened without being there but it's how it played out in my head.

Very sad. However I think (and hope) that she wasn't beat right after walking into the picture but that an argument started and that it escalated into a fight.

That might be the case, we don't know exactly what happened. But you have to also consider the possibility that there was no argument that escalated and accidentally walking into the picture was the trigger.

I know it makes you feel better or more safe if you think you have at least some control in what happens to you. You feel safer thinking that all those safety advices you've learned along the way really keep you safe from harm. It's a good feeling to know things happen to you for some reason.

Unfortunately life's not always like that. There is a chance that you could really get beaten to death by someone just by walking into a photo by mistake and there really isn't anything you can do about it.

When something horrible happens our first reaction is that we don't want that happening to us. Then we start finding ways of avoiding the situation and rationalizing that there must've been something. It's a natural reaction and gives you comfort but that's about it.

Would you wade into a melee to try to save someone? I wish I could say I would but I wouldn't.

It was like 2 males and 2 females apparently...if you can't turn to your side to rally up a group of people to jump in and hold back 2 males and females then something isn't right.

Then you have too much faith in people. The world is filled with scumbags who flip out and become violent over nothing.

How about getting beat to death at a club, is still disgusting? Its a club ffs. It doesn't really matter if there was a fight, or if she started it, or anything. The outcome is that people at a club, brawled until this person died of her injuries. Thats the digusting world. It really really really doesn't matter about what she/friends/anyone did.

Being beaten to death in Santa Ana California at a club is senseless.

Sensationalist journalism as usual.

There was some more news on this on TV last night that clarified more on this.

The way it happened was probably her walking into a photo that started an argument between her group & the group taking the photo. It escalated into a fight between the two groups & she got hit in the head in the process. Typical bar/club/restaurant fights happen all the time when drinks are involved.

The fight probably wasn't even that vicious, like the article implies 5 people all jumped on top of her & her alone while stomping on her simultaneously.

It was a restaurant fight that ended tragically.

This girl was a friend of a friend. He told me the night it happened and I couldn't believe that crap. I had no idea that she died, though...just that she was on life support and in a coma and that things weren't looking good. Such senseless bullshit. :(

Her friends are probably feeling rather guilty right now. For all we know her friends were instigating and she took the assault while trying to stop it. These sorts of incidents are why alcohol is way more dangerous than people give it credit for; it brings out the absolute worst in people. If these folks were high on weed, it would've just turned into a happy group photo instead of an altercation resulting in death.

I hope all of those people that watched feel guilty for her death. I hope they find the fucker. This is absolutely disgusting. Fucking pigs.

So her friends started a fight after she accidently walked into another groups photo? Yeah, that makes sense. For all we know the other group got pissed and her friends probably told them to leave her alone and a fight broke out. We can all speculate but blaming her friends is stupid.

I love how people's first reaction is to whip out a cell phone and not to jump in and help...

Anyone who whipped out a cell phone and started recording the savage beating of this woman deserves jailtime. How someone could stand there and enjoy the harsh and senseless beating of another human being I can't understand at all.

Those people who recorded this have their own special seat for them saved in hell.

the recording was how they caught the perps.

Do you truly believe that these dozens of bystanders recorded the scene because they were good samaritans who wanted visual evidence of a crime being committed that could be used in court? Or because they're awful shitstains who OOOH HEY BITCH FIGHT LETS GET THIS SHIT ON CAMERA TO SHOW OFF TO MY FRIENDS LATER LULZ

I think some of them were reluctant to get physically involved in an altercation where they were unsure whether a gun would be pulled. Perhaps they did not believe that a group of 5 men and women would beat a woman to death in public.

I hope at least one of them would have called the police, but the fact that someone did record the attack did assist in identifying the attackers.

This is about 20 mins east of me. Fucking crazy that shit like this is happening over there, it's not a bad area at all. Never heard of something like this occurring over such a minor thing.

I hope they catch all of these fuckers and throw the book at them. These are the kind of people we need in jail, not drug offenders. RIP Kim. :\

I remember reading a book about a detective, where he said something like that when the victim was pretty, he felt the death more. He felt guilty about feeling like that, but...couldn't help it.

I will never understand how people can kill each other for such dumbass reasons.

I would say, yes. A young beautiful woman certainly had more going on than an ugly old man, therefore her loss is more tragic.

I would vote for option 3. If I saw that going down, I would do something to stop it. Not a fan of this WSH mentality.
