I know we talk about legendaries a lot but some more:
I'm all on board with the nerf the item, buff the spec thing, though I earlier expressed skepticism about whether they can accomplish the latter. So I support all their efforts in trying this, because it's at least theoretically the right way to approach it.
But taking a step back, it's sort of absurd that they acknowledged how messed up the current legendary system and instead of altering the system they are just hoping that tuning the items will fix it. It can't fix it, it can only make it seem less bad.
The idea that a player might be better off rerolling an alt of the same class because of RNG is sort of crazy. Tuning items lower makes that slightly less of an issue, but for people that care about performing their best it still presents a crazy dilemma.
They say it won't be a big deal over time because everybody will have a bunch of legendaries if they just stick with it, but that requires believing that they understand the system and how players react to it. Given that they didn't understand it in the first place, why should we believe them now?
And I say this as somebody with 6 legendaries across my characters, and 5 of them were immediately useful / good for me (and will remain good), and the sixth will be good in 7.1.5.
Sorry for the rant.
