Yes I'm crazy.
Why did you post this twice.
Yes I'm crazy.
You know what scare me?
If the "cheap" mobile Fire Emblem, etc... Game sells/makes good money across NX and mobile... Why should they put efforts on a proper sequel?
You want them to not go out of business, right? They you don't want them competing against smartphones as directly.![]()
Its a hybrid, you are done nowActually using the word HYBRID huh!
What brave soul would have ever dared to dream of such an eventuality?
I know that, I just hate the idea of phone games on a console
Nope. Actual reporter for WSJ.Is this a contributor?
If they're running a custom android OS this makes sense. Would unify their output and give them More killer apps like Go on their own hardware. Could even offer extra features I've the regular mobile versions if they have a 4g antenna in it.

Only Nintendo's mobile games?
As the thread title is updated, I should note that this article is from the same reporter, Takashi Mochizuki, who wrote the "industry-leading chips" story last fall. Which seems to have been true, just not in the way some wanted it to be.
The sheer amount of shovelware for this system will be of epic proportions.
Okay, but I still think it's goofy that you'd say "hopefully it doesn't play phone games" when it means additional games on the system at no expense to anyone who isn't interested in them.
Lol!Now I can finally play Pokemon Go at home!
Catch Pokémon on Pkmn GO and then use them in a classic style Pokémon RPG would be cool I guess.
And yes, I know GO isnt really a Nintendo game but you get the point
I still dont see any definition for console/handheld hybrid
Its a hybrid, you are done now

I'm confused, maybe I read wrong, mobile as in 3ds or cell phone mobile. I'm assuming 3ds because of cart based system
Yeah, this is how I'm reading the situation too. I'm totally happy with it, but it isn't exactly what I'd call a hybrid. The dock could change that.As far as I'm concerned, this is a handheld with TV out, and the only thing that's "hybrid" about it is that it's combining both of Nintendo's business lines.
I'd personally call that a consolidation, but I imagine Nintendo likes the hybrid messaging more since it sounds a lot better than "We dumped our console line."
I feel like it was a pretty safe assumption that Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem would appear on the NX.
Hell no I guessed it tooYou will address those that correctly predict the future of the good ship Nintendo in a manner befitting of such nobility. Lest we have a society that ruminates on the barking of wild hounds and not the celestial knowledge of true videogame industry scholars.

So the system is Android based to some extent?
I'm curious about this too. Maybe we really could get Fantasy Life 2 on Nintendo's next handheld then!

Have to wonder, will it play Miitomo? Pokemon Go?
If this is true Nintendo would be out of their minds to not support mobile internet on this.
It'll play Miitomo, but then it'll get bored after a week and delete it.
To be fair, though, Wii U was still home to console-type experiences (BotW as originally intended, XCX, #FE, 3DW, Pikmin et al.) that 3DS never saw the likes of. So they dumped their console HW line, but the SW is surely still very much alive. This will be the first time current Nintendo console experiences will be portable, but those console experiences will also still be present on your TV at home. I feel like I'm wording that strangely, hopefully it makes sense.
lmao 👌👌It'll play Miitomo, but then it'll get bored after a week and delete it.
Cell phone games. It playing 3DS games isn't news in any way, cell phone game compatibility is.
Why did you post this twice.
How would it playing 3ds games not be news?
