Wuchang: Fallen Feathers |OT| Saving dat pirate booty

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Ho

Level design is starting to come into it's own, there are now multiple paths I can pursue and no indication of what is optimal, this I like. Dark Souls inspiration is more evident too with the looping, interconnected design, good stuff. Everything I previously wrote still applies though.

I like it so far, looks good and plays ok.

It really is very similiar to Wukong but that game had way too many bosses. This game also has decent shadows and don't need path tracing for it! Who knew that this is possible...

Yeah this is a legit good game. It took a little bit of time to be fully sold on it, but after 1st boss and the skill tree starts opening up, find some weapons and upgrades etc it's started to click.
Will probably need some balancing and a perfomance patch or two, just like wukong but they've done good.
Outfit and weapon design is on point too. So far found a couple of great looking classy outfits as well as some sexy ones, so good choices for everyone.

Everyone posting this is similar to wu Kong should have their posting privileges pulled immediately.

Man stop being pedantic. The game has some similarities. Its not a full copy but it resembles the style and parts of the gameplay.

Just relax and enjoy the game, dont be so intense

How is performance on RX 9070 cards? If I can enable AFMF 2.1, the lack of FSR may not be too big of an issue anyways
I'm getting over 100fps at 1440p FSR quality on a 9070XT,but it looks awful so I'm looking to use Optiscaler but I don't know where to install it

The way people are presenting it is it plays and will have similar challenge. You are setting these people up for disaster and wasted dollars.

Challenge level is on par with a lies of p or dark souls 1.

Visually and vibe? Sure it's black myth, but it doesn't have the story presentations with full blown speaking cut scenes like black myth. It's obtuse like a souls game in how it presents its dialogue and narrative thus far.

I would feel burned if I expected a more casual romp like black myth and instead the pot poison guy is packing my fudge 1 hour in lol.

on par with DS1 challenge wise eh?

I'm not at home and I don't have the game yet, but for Optiscaler I can tell you just need to drop the files on the folder the game's .exe, you can find all steps here: https://github.com/optiscaler/OptiScaler/wiki/Manual-Installation
And thanks for letting me know about the performance on your card!

I would say PC because of upscaling, I'm getting over 100fps with no stutters or anything
I have a ps5 pro and it allows me to do quality mode with 60 fps near constantly.

It looks sharp, and turns off motion blur and depth of field out of the gate.
Thank you. This game looks fun and perfect weekender game. After I finish Death Stranding 2, I might purchase WFF.

Not even close lol, it's actually amongst the easier games in the genre thus far (I'm 7 hours in).
Well to me DS1 is not hard, BUT.... It's bc I play it so much and it is one of the GOATS

Course DS1 could destroy me if I played some of those wild challenge runs that people do. Doubt I could even do an SL1 run.

2 hours in and I like it. performance complaints are absolutely unwarranted as it has the same performance as Wukong, Clair and all other UE5 games. Ridiculous. As for the other mass complaints about ppl who bought the standard version like myself who received the deluxe stuff, I guess thats fair, they should receive extra rewards or get a partial refund. For those who got the delux off third party, guess they cant do anything about it.

Can you parry boss attacks in this game? I have parry unlocked on my longsword but I can't seem to parry the first boss' attacks (Master Raider - Man Eating Dhurtanga).

Fame has this very fuzzy more-ue5-than-the-gpu-can-chew look on the XsX but plays fine overall, can't say I'm hooked but I will have some more now

The two bosses I've done I got first try so I think the enemies are the harder part, apparently the bosses become far more difficult later in the game?

Also, what weapon are you using? This may affect this discussion a lot. I tried dual blades and spears, now I'm going to try axe next.

It's not very good visually on the PS5 Pro so far. Lies of P and Lords of the Fallen look better. On quality mode it's got a number of poor-quality textures and the image quality is muddy and grainy because it must be using heavy upscaling from a pretty low internal resolution. Some of the textures are almost like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth levels of bad such as some of the wood panelling on the temples where a lot of the quest-giving NPCs are found. Lords of the Fallen is able to run lumen and nanite at decent image quality on the Pro so I don't know what's going on here (assuming it's using nanite and lumen).

It also sometimes stutters even when not much is happening around you. And most of the time there's no haptics when you hit enemies which I don't like. The sound effects are good when you hit enemies, but it's not accompanied by haptic feedback so if feels lacking. The haptics feel bugged but maybe this is how it's coded - they need to fix or change this in the future. It's pretty fun so far though, but I have a feeling this is going to be continually patched for the next 6-12 months and will be significantly improved like Lords of the Fallen was.

Interesting. On pc with max settings I haven't encountered bad textures, some are a bit lower res than others but in general they look quite good. In which area did you see these bad textures again?

Btw I am finding the level design in this game amazing, much better than Lies of P and Kazhan Berserker

With the cash flowing in now, I am sure it will get some nice updates. I have to imagine they were kinda floored at the amount of people playing, or maybe I am the one surprised. But I am glad it's getting support. Despite steam review bombed

Is that on OLED or QLED or UHD? What is your TV's screen size and brand?

Lol they could've made status effects a bit more clear, I just stood in fire apparently without any reaction looking around to find a path, and then I instantly died because fire status was apparently building up lol.
