WWE 2K17 |OT| It's the same game, yes it is!

I love hearing commentary that I swear is the same shit from the last two games in this series I bought four and six years ago, never mind a lot of the same bugs/glitches too.

I will be joining you guys later when my copy arrives later today.

Give me a few hours to master the controls and I will be up for some online versus shenanigans.

Several of us tried to warn people not to buy this, so you get what you deserve:P

Do you seriously have to be in these threads every year shitting on the games? we get it, you don't like them, a lot of us don't, but at least it's light-hearted shitting on the game and posting glitch gifs, you bring the mood down so much and bring negativity, no one cares about you hating the game.

Its a shame the game is still bad, that roster is legit. If they had Gangrel, I probably couldn't resist................but they don't

I have only put about 6 hours into 2k17 so far (no glitches yet) and i am having way more fun in career mode and universe mode then i have had in years.

My biggest gripes is forced tag team stuff in career tag team matches in wrestling games are the absolute worst and the 20 download limit every 24 hours. 20 download limit? really? Really? REALLY?

Yeah, it's terrible and every single year from him on these games.

It's not so easy to include Gangrel in these things

"They messed up when they put that name on me and it was copyright written with White Wolf (a role playing game). So they had to lease the name from them for five years. So when the lease was up, I was up. Mentioning the Raw 15th Anniversary when I went back to do that it sparked a big thing where White Wolf had sold the name to somebody else and they tried to sue WWE for five million dollars for the 15th Anniversary show. When it all went to court it turned out when the judge hit the gavel he said that the guy who has been wrestling as Gangrel for the last fifth-teen years, he's Gangrel. There are so many different licenses that WWE won't touch the name Gangrel or mention it. You will see in the WWE Encyclopedia they changed the name to David Heath.

"Anytime they mention doing something it takes two weeks of lawyers to run things through. That's why you won't see me doing Legends contracts. I don't know how THQ got me in that game a few years back and maybe because they knew they were going out of business and they were going bankrupt anyway that they didn't care because the company was folding. It was like their one off "FU" to everybody."

Err....I don't have the game

Lmao, if only I still had my Sin Cara avatar. Great gif

I mean, they did say they were going to make it more of a simulation. I just didn't think they'd go that far.

I thought eventually Yukes was going to hand off development entirely to the 2k studio? I guess we all assumed the wrong thing so long ago...

Nope, WWE like Yukes and have a good relationship with them. They may have made them a term of the sale.

Knowing Sin Cara's botch record it may just be some truly dedicated mocap to stay show accurate.

God I remember being so hyped for him as Mistico and hearing he'd be coming to WWE. Boy did that fall below expectations :(

"With Showcase mode thankfully tombstoned into oblivion"

Yep, thank God 1/3 of the games main modes are gone now, a huge improvement.

It would have been if they had actually done what they said and made large improvements to Career and Universe, it would have been a great thing instead of keeping the QTE-laden interactive DVD.

As it stands though, they just removed it for nothing.

The creation suite is incredible this year. Say what you want, but the possibilities are nearly endless now.

Only played one match so far and it's still too easy : (

I hate that they took out sliders for the body. But other than that and the no preset faces, everything else is getting back to ridiculous levels of stuff to pick from.

But Gamesradar says the Universe mode is revelatory!

lololol

Showcase had two great things going for it, number one it replicated what wrestling is better than any other mode, a predetermined winner, spots that you need to pull off to tell a specific story for the match, it's a far cry from MyCareer which is this weird middle ground with real life trainers but where winning is real. Second it diversified the roster, even if you never played the mode it always improved the game by forcing the developers to use certain wrestlers from certain eras. We had probably the best rosters ever thanks to the attitude and Wrestlemania modes, if Showcase doesn't come back we'll be stuck with the regular rosters, NXT, the obvious legends and whoever was DLC the previous year.

Listen to King's commentary during a women's match.

It's terrible.

I think they could do the predetermined winner stuff if they wanted to as an option in Universe mode. It would be kind of cool to set your card and actually have to achieve a series of goals, like the list of objects you get in Showcase, to achieve success as a wrestler. There would be no fail state though. If a particular wrestler fails to meet their objectives a number of times they get downgraded on the roster. This is about as sim as you can get with wrestling. Include T-Shirt sales and fan numbers in as well.

As for MyCareer, that's where the Showcase money should go. They should try and do scripted stories like they do in NBA 2k. Wrestling is actually more suited to the concept.

Indeed that looks like a legit sin cara spot, can't knock the game for this one.

Played a few hours of career mode last night. Gotta say it's better than last years. Only two things to complain about so far, I'm terrible at kicking out and I somehow skipped right to the main roster when I wanted to do NXT first.

The commentary is still awful, which is not surprising.
I wish I can turn that shit off
There is a voice volume control in the options. This has the bonus effect of also turning off Lilian Garcia's voice.

Yep, will be under $30 then for sure. These games are pure garbage. Notice the same bugs continually in every version. They never fix them. Yukes didn't get to do a showcase mode this year, so they just released the game 2 weeks early since they didn't need the 2 weeks to make it.

Several of us tried to warn people not to buy this, so you get what you deserve:P
Dude, I'm really trying to ignore you this year.. but man, just give it a rest. Every year it's the same shit-post fromyou over and over again. We get it. You hate the game, yet you continually shit up these threads with your "warnings" every five posts. No one needs you to "warn" them.

It's honestly sad that another year comes by and it's instant shit from the dude again. You don't like or buy them, we get it big daddy cool.

I'm almost impressed they seem to have copy/pasted the Renee Young interview questions from 2k16 back into this one.

Especially since they're not voiced this time. It's just text and I'm still getting the same stuff from last year.

I agree! Can't wait to see what awaits in CC in a few weeks.

Anybody else going to make a Nu-Bullet Club with Luke Harper, Bray Wyatt and AJ Styles for their universe while waiting for Gallows and Anderson?

To be on topic, I would like to get this when it's half off at least or free from a gamestop manager friend since that's how I've been doing it the past couple of years.

It's not so easy to include Gangrel in these things

Back in the WWF Attitude days it always caught my attention that there was a separate copyright for just gangrel on the opening screen of the game, had no idea Gangrel was not an original creation of WWE

Does anybody know how to lay an opponent on a regular table? It's not like it used to be in 2k16 where you hit them with the table while holding it, or where you whip them into the table...

So did 2K really remove the ability to coup de grace through tables?

You can do it, I've seen it on streams. Not done a table match myself to see it though. Try the right stick when they're leaning against one or circle/B?

They did get rid of stacked tables...

Lay your opponent against the table and press X/A. I think that's what it was in 2K16. Haven't had the chance to do the same in 2K17 yet.
