Xbox has a bright future ahead

Nobody said they are leaving the console space "right now". It's not like I expect them to call it quits immediately. What I implied is that, long-term, what they are doing devalues their consoles, and that will result in them leaving the console space eventually.
If they are looking at 2 more gens out, that is still 15+ years from now. I feel like after the next gen Xbox and PS, we may not have a traditional console any longer. I hope to be wrong though.

Personally, 15 years from now I hope I am golfing year round and video games are behind me.

Of course.

This is purely OCD issue on my part but I would prefer to use steam on PC. Some reports of lower fps on GP games, some reports of bugs etc… but admittedly I haven’t used it myself.

GP on consoles I have used and find it to be great experience.
Oh, yeah, Windows Store backend on Windows is a buggy POS and you have some extra potential issues for patches and such in games, storage reclamation and more.

I use PC GamePass as a rental/demo in general and then grab the game on Steam. Sometimes if it’s one and done game I will just play it on GamePass but it’s more rare.

Xbox as a brand/publisher? Sure. Xbox as a console? I just don't see how. They are actively working towards platform agnosticism which devalues their hardware.
Not if the games are good. All 3 games from the Direct LOOKED solid. And they have how many studios?

The quality that's been lacking is finally showing up after years of promises.

Man, marketing is working overtime

Playstation 5 the worst generation in gaming that needs fixing

Meanwhile Microsoft is the savior of gaming that’s blessing us to the holy land with their third party announcements of studios they had zero responsibility in growing
I find it wild how people put Xbox on a pedestal, as if they’re doing something extraordinary or groundbreaking.

It’s like someone bragging about being successful after receiving $80 billion from their trillionaire parents—claiming it was so hard to convince them to make the investment, but now they’re finally in a position to create a decent product. Honestly, I’d just laugh.

They'll release software for all platforms with a startup logo that says,"Every console is an Xbox." So the green brigade can sleep well at night.

don't worry. Xbox has a track record of fucking up. after the acquisition this hasn't change; it will never change

As a publisher, maybe, but as soon as they went third party putting their high profile games on other platforms, they decimated their future as a console manufacturer. The brand as you know it is over unfortunately because Microsoft is giving you very few reasons to invest into their ecosystem. How are you going to say, everything is an XBOX and you don’t need an XBOX, then look perplexed when your hardware sales are atrocious? Again, no point in another traditional console. Just be a publisher/third party at this point.
