Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

My Xbone comes in a few days. How does Rare Replay work with the BC Xbla for some of the titles like Banjo or Perfect Dark? I already own the 360 versions of them, would it be better to play them via Rare Replay?

I don't think it matters. Same thing either way.
 
Adding BC to Games with Gold titles really shifts my reaction to announcements of games I already own. It used to be disappointed but maybe I could jump into a multiplayer game for a month or so. Now it's another game I can play on my XB1. Maybe it's just a novelty for me.
 
Been playing gears 3, the moment I start to bounce next to anyone the frames drop and by drop I mean plummet, Xboxdvr doesn't show it tho so it's whatever still holding my own, still the best game ever made
 
Lode Runner does not appear in my "Ready To Install" list. Has anyone been able to play that one?

The web store and my 360 both know I own the game and won't let me buy it again, and the Xbox One store just says "Bundle Only."

I spent a few hours in chat with Microsoft support and after re-launching the game on my 360, deleting and recreating my profile, resetting MAC address and more they gave up and said it was 'probably' something on their end.
 
I don't know if this is the right place to post this or not but I left feedback on their user voice forums regarding support for Xbox One accessories like the Madcatz TE2 arcade stick for backwards compatibility software and would love for it to get some votes so they hopefully respond to it.

Would love to be able to play future fighting games through BC. I tried to at least navigate the 360 dash in BC games and it didn't work.

So bizarre that even a Google Search doesn't lend any information about when Gears Ultimate users will be receiving their download tokens for the Xbox 360 Gears Trilogy + Gears Judgement.

I've heard December 1st from an unconfirmed source, does no one care about this? I really want to play those games, it's the main reason I bought Gears Ultimate, honestly.

I noticed that nearly all of the mid-level loading screens in Mirror's Edge have just completely disappeared. I'm over halfway through the game and I've seen one so far that lasted less than a second. It actually reminded me that the game used to have 1 or 2 per level.

Damn I want to replay this with the Elite. Go EA put it on sale again.

I've also bought but never played the Pure Time Trials DLC so there are also achievements left to get.

ive been reading up on mods and if this doesn't go through I would just have to mod my ps4 stick with mkx controller pcb

I got it from Amazon the other day for pennies. There's loads of games there, many unused, for really cheap.
 
I have Gold and the site is still trying to charge me for Dungeon Siege 3. Any ideas as to why it's doing this? This is a real pain in the ass.
 
Bought Sacred Citadel for $1.99. Figure it would be good to show that sales on BC titles would do well. Don't know if its any good, but for under 2 bucks, who cares?
 
Resident Evil 4/5/6 are all on sale for $6 on 360/PC webstore now. We know Capcom's doing BC but not sure which titles, i guess someone can make a blind purchase if they want,heh

Between the A-Z the list of games by release date, popularity or the SEARCH, it's nigh on impossible to find anything....
 
I really hope we get more then just the ones they mentioned for Dec it'll be a lil disappointing if that's all we get I'm hoping for at least 10-20 titles a month
 
Gears 3 is still a damn good looking game. Frame rate was a bit rough in this version though.

How's Judgement? I have it from GWG and never got around to it on 360.

Other than the one time the whole screen glitched into visual garbage during an in-game transition from 2D into the optional 3D makeover (Halo Anniversary-style), it played flawlessly for me on the first two stages of the first R-Type. Pausing the game and switching 3D back into 2D fixed it, but I tried to reproduce the glitch and it never happened again. Seems totally safe to me.

They're powered by different emulators. Digital Eclipse did the standalone Streets of Rage 2, while M2 did all of the Vintage Collections. Might be worth it to upgrade to Vintage collection. You get two extra games and M2 rocks at emulation.

I found it boring/easily my least favorite of the four GoW games.

It's exceptional. The second one is nowhere near as good although it looked a bit better and had some neat investigation mechanics. Condemned: Criminal Origins is easily the superior horror experience.

Nope - I also own it, and I also can't see it available on my Xbox One. Everything else I own is there and without issues, but Lode Runner doesn't show up. Tried tweeting them about it but got no response. :(

Just wanted to say I stopped playing and deleted Dirt 3 (XBL Gold game compatible on 360) because there is no in-race music. The menu music is pretty good. No option to listen to it while racing so...... I'm out after one race, lol. Next up to try is Dungeon Siege III but I don't have high hopes.

I believe that price is set by Sega, the publisher? Anyway, I bought it online for $7.99.

EDIT: HOLY SHIT I'm glad I did. The price has SKYROCKETED on Amazon since the backwards compatible list came out.
 
I gotta say, normally BC is a big non-starter for me. I don't really care for it.

But the way this is done: full integration, from being in your Game Library to DVR, X1 parties etc, to the, generally, adequate-to-good performance, it's a joy. It makes me feel like I'm playing a console that's been around for over a decade, and in the past two years got a speed and power boost. I can flick from co-op on Dungeon Siege III to Horde on Gears 3 to Halo 5 to Forza Horizon 2 and it's all one ecosystem. I never expected it to be so satisfying, but it's surprised me.

It also means, especially with GWG, that I can play a lot of games I've never played before, whilst revisiting old favourites. It's terrific.

Yeah it's not so much about playing old games for me either, yeah that's cool and I'll definitely replay a few of them, but it's more about playing new games and the GWG's.

Another excellent thing to come from BC is that it pretty much guarantees the next gen xbox will be BC with XB1 and I guess by default the 360 and original xbox too lol.

Agreed! I hope whatever new agreements are being made allow the games to be sold on future Xbox platforms, and not just the Xbox One (so we don't have to go thru a compatibility list again). Also, whatever Xbox Two ends up looking like, it should have enough extra oomph to smooth out the times when the emulator starts dropping frames.
 
I played Shadow Complex the moment it became available in the preview program.

Next up is finishing the Fallout 3 DLC that I never got to because the game belonged to a roommate and he moved out. I recently acquired my own.

I traded my 360 in when I got my Xbox One so this is really my only chance to do these things now. I'm pretty happy with it.
 
Any chance Fallout New Vegas will be back wards compatible

I got xbone today just for BC feature , for me is a plus that matters and since it seems its being done well on current titles decided to get the console , also with a great deal ( Mexico) $294 US with the gears of war game.

That feeling to play Fallout 3 on an current generation console is great , I really hope the same happens with New Vegas.
